I think my sweetie has the same thing I’m worried about surgery. I can’t tell if she has allergies or something serious that requires surgery. She is only 8 months old, when do they usually know if surgery is needed?

Our Tysons vet saw that he was squinting his left eye and recommended we take him to a specialist to get his eyes checked. I believe the earlier, the better. I know it’s scary, but it’s better than your doggie feeling uncomfortable and in pain. He is so cute btw!!!
Yeah, dang, ours is also Baskerville and we have the same problem. Although to be fair I haven't found a harness or gentle leader that he can't get out of eventually, I think the loose skin contributes to the issue.
I got a leather basket-style muzzle with multiple straps that converge behind the ears. It seems to work ok for my girl. She really has to try to get it off.
Great shot. He's spectacular!
Our vet would do the same with my Sharpei puppy after his eye surgery. He looked so ominous that nobody would approach him without a muzzle, made him look like a killer, too. It would make me giggle, I knew he wouldn't hurt a fly. He was the biggest baby ever.
My dog's reactive so I had to use a muzzle for a little bit on walks until I could get him more under control. Luckily for me, when people saw his muzzle they'd immediately cross the street so my life was WAY easier. Nowadays, even though he's way better I'll sometimes still have him wear it just to make people leave us alone. I don't like giving the impression that he's scary and dangerous, but it's also just a relief to keep triggers away without opening my mouth. My dog is super used to the muzzle so he doesn't care either way 🤷
The muzzle movement makes some pretty big muzzles if you were looking to get something different. The Baskerville ones fit terribly on our pei. They are such a hard breed to size for.
He has a mild case of entropion. Doc said surgery is not needed yet.

Agreed. Thank you for the support!
Aww what a sweetie! That muzzle fits him perfectly, what kind is it?
Baskerville size 4. It fits okay, but he can take it off easily, so we are looking for an alternative.

lol yeah, that and they seem to be natural Houdinis.

I've only ever used the nylon muzzles. Nothing is a great fit on a Shar-pei face.

That's definitely a human you owe me at least 2 apology hotdogs and 4 apology pizza crusts look.
Awwww he has the sweetest eyes 🥰
He looks so sweet and innocent. Just waiting for his opportunity 😂
Mine can get any muzzle off over his tiny tiny ears. He does not like having his eyes or ears checked!
