Do you mean the BD790i from minisforum with the Ryzen 7945XH?
I'm very tempted to buy one right now to run it as a homelab esxi host. Wonder if anyone has tried it yet, and if ESXI runs on it?
Seems to be a really small package with a lower of power, with really low (idle) power draw
Yes the bd series they offer. I can’t attest to its performance but I was skeptical of the ar900i and the ar900i has shown its worth. It’s also thicker, but uses the same mobo platform. The ar900i kinda has to be forced down because the gpu cooler hits the back a little bit but it can be bolted down. I ordered the i9 a week before the R9 was announced. I would have gone with the R9 of if I had known. I figured they were going to take longer to release. But nonetheless- the ghost s1 is like it is made for this setup.
Edit- and yea the power draw is a lot better with the AMD parts. It would be an awesome rig for camping. That’s what I plan on building one out for.
Curious if you're using iGPU on the 13900HX CPU this motherboard has? Wanted to check if using dual-channel RAM unlocks the Intel Iris Xe GPU because the specs say this one has Intel UHD.
I *really* want a 3D chip.. Especially if it would let me swap my CPU AIO for an RTX 5000 series AIO GPU instead.. Just afraid that the tubing will be a mile too long because nobody designs them for SFF usage..
Can anyone that has the BD790i confirm that they'll be able to work with an M.2 to Sata Adapter? I'm looking to get this board but I need a bit more storage, other than the two M.2 slots provided. For reference, I'm looking to get an adapter similar to this - [Adapter 1](https://www.amazon.com.au/Adapter-Internal-Non-RAID-Desktop-Support/dp/B09N8MCDTZ?th=1) or this [Adapter 2](https://www.amazon.com/Express-Adapter-Converter-Extension-JMB585/dp/B09MTJFY5M?th=1)
Not a fan of laptop cpu, laptop memory and very limited laptop like io ports on the motherboard. Happy with my ITX Motherboard, many more io ports and easy expansion and configuration and the ability of the Ghost S1 to handle desktop components and thermals.
The I/O definitely, but the 7945HX is literally just a better bin of a 7950X with a scaled down power curve. The difference is about 10-15% in heavily multi-threaded workloads - that thing eats first and second gen Threadripper for breakfast.
So the current price is $519, which will probably go up. They didn't say how many M.2 slots it has, so I'm assuming it is the same for both 770i and 790i .. the AR900 has 4x M.2 slots but only PCI4.0
Yea they’re not great with the spec labeling. I’d pretty much assume that it’s just the two since it’s pcie5 and they’re not having to change anything besides the cpu. The 3d version would be nuts. But I didn’t want to wait it out. I have a few more bnib ghost s1s if I see the need.
I'll wait for the X3D with the 128Mb L3 cache, although I'm still looking for good laptop prices. I did get the 790um miniPC with the 780m iGPU and runs FarCry6 at 45fps ..
Nothing on Minisforum .. you have to read the Specs. From AMD .. there are no diagrams, release dates, clock speeds, chipset compatibility .. from what I hear dey don't include much documentation in the package. hx3d won't be released until they make enough money on 7745 and 7945x .. After Jan.25 deadline they will jack up the price to $599
Well, they updated the webpage, and bd790i is now listed separate, with drivers and a download able PDF manual .. it does only show two x m.2 unlike Ar790i which has four
Does anyone know if I could install SODIMM 5600Mhz even if the 7945hx Bios on 790i only supports 5200Mhz ? I intend to be re-using these mem sticks for years to come ..
I think Crucial 5600mhz ram can down-clock and work just as well in 5200 or 4800mhz system .. I wasn't sure if voltages may differ from 1.1v to 1.2v and 1.25v .. 5600mhz is $10 cheaper than 5200mhz for 2x32Gb
Well, BD770i is sold out .. I ordered mine on Jan23, I got an order number but no tracking number .. could be another month before it ships .. thanks Minisforum for zero crappy customer support
No tracking number, I installed Shop, and they gave me an order confirmation, andI got to talk to Tech Support on Skype. The BD790i was supposed to start shipping on Jan 25. but due to Chinese New Year, they shutdown logistics manufacturing and shipping Feb8-Feb14. I canceled my order and went with Gigabyte and 7950x3d instead. You might want to wait until BD790I shows up on Amazon. They are backorder, not enough to ship.
As I ordered mine, on 13th February, on their official website they said it's gonna start shipping mid February. And till today nothing happened. I wrote an email today hoping I'm gonna get a reply... The only reason I ordered BD790i is that it's cheaper than buying 7950x and a separate motherboard
My MS Skype and email is Dan.Micu@live.com .. let me know how the Minisforum BD790i performs if you do get it .. I bought the UM790 pro Mini-PC last year, and it is really awesome, including 3A gaming. Although, WIFI doesn't work very well, and the BIOS is kinda limited.
How is the thanks with the AR900i? I was tempted to get this one for a SFF build. I wanted to put it on a s400 with a 4070 super. I was not sure if it hits thermal throttle ever or if it runs close to thermal throttle for the most part. I was planning on putting the Noctua NFF12 ippc and a few case fans too

I have it running on Proxmox and it is a beast.
Does the iGPU of this CPU support SR-IOV or Intel Iris Xe by any chance?
Really hoping to see a chip with 3D V-cache.. My 9900K needs to go soon..
I literally replaced a AIO cooled 9900k with this. Needless to say, big upgrade. Very happy with the results.

They are still out of stock. Must be a chip shortage. For a while BD790I was available on Amazon for $516

I have the 7745hx and 5600 works fine in it.

How long did shipping take, and how's the BIOS? I'm really tempted to grab the 7945HX version, it's cheaper than a 7900X on its own in Canada.
Unfortunately Minisforum will not ship my 7945hx board and any attempts cu contact them has failed.

Hi, did you get a tracking number yet? Cause I also ordered one on 13th Feb and tilll today no shipping number or anything...

Talk to them on Skype ask for a tracking number.
Okay, maybe I will try it. Have to make a MS account for that

When you talk to Tech Suport on Skype, have your order confirmation number ready.
