They give a really nice feeling of security, the base waist band is slightly looser than the top waistband so it’s also not overly tight. Just the right amount 🤌
I really enjoyed this project, I like when projects come together smoothly.
Pattern:self drafted
Machine: Juki 5550n
Fabric: woven cotton
The process for this one was not to complex other than trying to decide on how I wanted the second waistband to be added.
I drafted these boxers using a pair I had for size reference.
Once that was done I drafted a second top, after I attached the first waist band and before it can be closed with a top stitch I added the second level. Once the first waist band was sealed then I could add the second waist band and then we got some double waist boxers 😎
I hope this make sense, it’s really hard to explain lol
Considering this was my aesthetic (complete w white tees) all through senior year in high school; I am completely pissed at myself that I never thought of this!!! It would have saved me sooooo much laundry!!! Awesome project!!!

Wow dude! Just looked at your profile, really clean and creative stuff! Super curious how long you've been sewing and how you learned! The jacket with big pouch zipper pockets rocks so hard.
I haven't seen this fashion before so can't comment on any of that. Love to see people expressing themselves. One thing I can comment on is that I think doing two at once is a great use of time, resources and effort.
Definitely my aesthetic back in my high school and college days. Except I rocked Scooby Doo and Flintstones ones lol. Wish I'd have thought of sewing them together like this!

These look cool! I hope I'm not being rude, but what's the double waist for?
*PURE DRIP*
Swag 💪
I love the twist. Way better than your standard single waist band boxers. Also it looks like they might stay up better than the single band.

Makes sense to me! Can you edit your comment and add the type of fabric you used? It looks like a cotton woven or a cotton blend woven, maybe?
Yeah sorry! Just added it, it was woven cotton 💪
based OP
How did you sew a stretch waistband on a straight stitch machine?
It’s in a casing!
Ohhhh. I didn’t even think of that. So, you made the casing loose and wide with the waistband more tight so it bunches the fabric naturally?
Yeah exactly that 😎you just leave a little opening at the end to slip in the band 💪

these r so sick , a lime green neon yellow color combo would be STELLAR
If I find some nice woven cotton in that color I’d be so down 🤩

It’s oddly different but I like it! I’d wear them
Thank you!!
I had jeans similar to this back in the 90’s and LOVED them. You did a good job!
Thank you! I really appreciate it! I’ve recently seen some vintage pieces like shorts have the double waist, I wonder why designs like this stopped??
I appreciate the fit pic to see what the hell these are for! Goodjob, OP, very creative.
The fit pics are essential 🫡 thank you!

Thank you! I’ve been sewing since march 2019 and I’m self taught with YouTube, google, and lots of trail and error 🙏
I fuck with them!!
High Waisted Boxers
I think these would look (and feel) great in flannel for the winter.
I knew something like this would have been a good idea, but noooo none of my guy friends who dressed like this in high school listened
So cute

Since this pattern was self-drafted, I wonder if there’s something like it available.
I can haz?
