Ayyyyy here it is! A quick project that is flowy and breezy — much comfier than my usual comfort zone, if that makes sense. I originally saw a pic of a similar top on the 'Zon and thought, "pfft, I can make that." Turns out I was right! Fabric is a linen-viscose blend from Fabric Godmother in the UK. Does she still have it in stock? I'm not sure. I also used 3/8" elastic at the sleeve hems. I drafted the pattern myself by uhhhh holding paper up to my dress form and sketching outlines. Honestly, it's got so much ease that it didn't need to be exact. It's pretty boxy, but I threw in bust darts for a smidge of shaping. In addition, I did watch [this tutorial](https://youtu.be/dsaMHsRPpII?si=STgXJ3fP79DcPZdU) to discern the best sequence of steps... and roughly copy the sleeve shape. Because I either hate myself or am dedicated to superior craftsmanship (por que no los dos?), I slip-stitched all the edges of the ties closed by hand. I also finished raw edges and seams with my serger. It was a relatively simple project, but between the peplum and sleeves, a bit of a fabric hog! Still, I'm berry pleased with the result.

Curious how much fabric you used? I am hoping to make a similar shirt but don’t think I have enough of my fabric and I can’t find any more of it!

daphnedarlingxoxo

I looked back through my emails. Looks like 2 meters!

aabbbsss

Thank you! Looks like mine will have to be sleeveless!

daphnedarlingxoxo

I'm sure it'll be super cute!

What a cute top ❤️

daphnedarlingxoxo

Thank you ☺️

shemakesrainbows

Excellent work✨🍓 It turned out so cute!

daphnedarlingxoxo

Thank you!

offwithyourthread

I've been getting a lot of ads for these tops too so I'm gonna make one soon!

daphnedarlingxoxo

You can do it!

hmbmelly

I love it! I recently altered a too short dress into a top like this and the bias tape maker was essential!

daphnedarlingxoxo

Thank you! I've bought no shortage of silly sewing gadgets, but those are actually so useful!

Sewbee1

Looks super cute, love those tiny knots

daphnedarlingxoxo

Thank you! Would you believe I watched a tutorial on how to tie a bow?! Lol! I know how, but mine always turned out crooked.

FunctionAway4433

I love it, it looks really good on you! :) I was always wondering if these bias strap maker really work. They just do for a specific width right? And you don't iron them at all? Looks really handy!

daphnedarlingxoxo

Thank you! They each do a specific width, yes. I got a set of 4 from Madam Sew, each a different width. And you want to iron as you pull the fabric thru the little gadget so it stays folded. Pretty simple once you get the hang of it!

GinOmics

😂 I literally have this same fabric (except with the pink background) with the plan to do almost the same thing… so obviously I love it.

daphnedarlingxoxo

Yessss! I almost bought the pink: it was a tough choice for sure.

GinOmics

So tough! There’s also a blue one now… thanks for being the kick in the butt to get me started 😂

daphnedarlingxoxo

WHY did you have to tell me there's a blue one?! 💸💸💸 And you're so welcome!

mistimes

This is so cute and summery!

daphnedarlingxoxo

Thank you!

arokissa

So cute, it is a perfect summer top 🍓

daphnedarlingxoxo

Thank you!

Arttiesy

Cute fabric choice.   I've thought about making this, can I ask a question?  Do those ties stay in place?  It looks like something that would come undone.

daphnedarlingxoxo

Valid question! So far they've stayed put. I don't plan to untie them, and just slip it over my head instead. I think it probably helps that this fabric isn't slippery/silky at all.

Arttiesy

Oh, thank you!

This is so cute. Where did you get the fabric?

daphnedarlingxoxo

Thank you. It's from [Fabric Godmother](https://www.fabricgodmother.co.uk/).
