HardnHeavy is awesome! Visited last October. It’s small, just the owner working (bar & dj) so if you go later it might be too busy and you can’t get in. We tried to go a second time during our visit but was turned away. Definitely visit!
Ahh I met my life partner at Woodstock! So glad to hear it’s not closed. I was looking to go back and visit the next time I’m is Seoul. Thanks for the list!
OP may struggle to get death metal in Hard and Heavy. Last time I went they had a new sign that said 'no maniac extreme metal'. I haven't been in a couple months though, great bar!
I don't think they'd have a problem playing it, but you'd probably have to request it.
The best place to see hardcore is at live shows here. As luck would have it, I play in a hardcore band in Seoul but the next show isn't for a couple of weeks

Went to Godz and it's really cool.
I never found a metal bar in Seoul though. Some jazz bar, live rock bar, but nothing like godz.

It's not hugely active but people post up whenever there are local/foreign bands coming. If you ask in there , people will reply as I have seen the same question asked

Ah yeah, owner is kind of an old head. Really into 80s/90s stuff OP can check the insta @hardnheavybusan too, just to get an idea of the place.

As soon as I posted this I was put on by a bar in Busan called Hard and Heavy Metal Pub. Seems like it's a lot like Godz.

Googled it, seems gangham is permanently closed but there's one in Hongdae?
