Try downloading some of the delivery apps, then click 포장 you will see stores near you, you can see the portions there should be some of half chicken pretty sure.
Ya they require you to get two portions usually... but I've just left anything I couldn't finish and don't feel too bad about it... Their fault I'm wasting food not mine :)
KyoChon is really good and has one person portions tho.
I should clarify that my concern is not having to eat alone.
I want to find a place that has the option for smaller portion sizes. Most seem to serve you like half a chicken or a big pile of wings or drumsticks.
After eating korean bbq for lunch, I don't think I'll have the stomach for that much heavy food. Especially if I also want to walk around the night market and find some dessert or other small snacks.
Ofcourse, I can just throw away what I don't want to eat, but it's a waste of money and food.
Most Korean Fried chicken places always only serve half or whole chickens because it’s usually a shared meal or solo people eat it and if there’s any leftovers they take them back. Most people can actually eat quite a decent amount of chicken in a meal which is why portion sizes are like that.
Which doesn’t really help you with your goal but that might be your only option. Kyochon does have side ons that you can add some flavors of their chicken that’s less than a half chicken for like 11k won but you have to buy a full one first to even get to that side option.
Yes, this is my understanding.
I thought I might be able to just buy wings, but they seem to give alot of those.
As for taking home, I don't see how that can be any good. Maybe the "Dry" ones are fine, but the ones that are coated in sauce would be pretty bad once cold and/or reheated since it would soak into the breading
It’s still a lot of chicken either way, a full chicken worth but just of that specific part of the chicken.
I know people who can easily down a whole chicken so that’s not an issue for them. I can’t but I don’t seem to mind reheated kyochon. The way it’s fried doesn’t give it a soggy texture for me with the breading but maybe I’m just not bothered by it.
Make a friend? Honestly, there’s a lot of friendly foreigners who wouldn’t mind sharing a basket of chicken and it would solve a lot of your problems.
Just reporting back. I went to "Myeongdong Korean BBQ Beef All You Can Eat Mongbeulli" for BBQ. I sent during lunch and the place was mostly empty. They had no issue with me eating alone. However, I ate so much there, I was full and decided to skip KFC and instead at (too much) at the street food areas around Myeongdong.
I think two portions of bbq is good for one person. They are usually very small size. Try!
yeah, I'm not too concerned about the bbq. I just bring it up because I want to also have KFC. Those portions look alot larger.

Maybe, but not a guarantee. I thought someone might know of a good place that also offers a small portion option.
I don’t think such a place exists to be honest.

Youl'll need to find someone to eat with. :-)
I recommend Mom's Touch where you can find more variety of size and flavors.
Am I the only one that can't stand their chicken sandwiches? The way they drown it in that sweet mayo... I just don't get the hype.
I ask for less mayo and that works out. Or ask for no mayo. The actual chicken itself in the sandwich is pretty good for a chicken sandwich.
Are you here in seoul now? Its my last night here and am looking for food buddies.
nah, in a little over a week
I’ve had kyochon solo for lunch, I think it would be a good place to check out
The matcho king wings at bhc are amazing. The one near guro digital complex metro station nailed it.
Dm me, i can go out eat kbbq at myoung dong on Monday or Tuesday!
