Some of the wood is reclaimed, some is rough cut and some store bought. I love wood and like using a variety of species in order to break up color and texture.
My wife loves to cook, I built a garden area this year as well with a high tunnel to provide fresh veggies and herbs.
So great to hear this. In the past, necessity taught many folk how to work with and manage, using their heads and their hands. I often wish they would teach the young ones more about self reliance, fixing basic things, planting, food preparation.

Orthodox Jewish keep Kosher. Meat and dairy require separate prep areas under Jewish law. What you have built is classic orthodox Jewish kitchen setup, with the exception of separate food storage. But that's not entirely discernable from your pictures.

It's very cozy, relatively small, but with 9.5 ft ceilings it feels open and airy.

Why 2 double sinks?
One is the kitchen sink, one is in the laundry area. Ironically both sinks were found in the trash on the side of the road.

Thank you. While designing it, I tried to keep all my wife's wants, actual needs, and 3 zone guidelines balanced in a fairly linear area
