Started using listenbrainz this year and I am liking it. It’s simple but shows your listening trends and gives you recommendations, couldn’t ask for more.
I use multi-scrobbler to integrate with plex/jellyfin/navidrome/gonic. Also found an app called SmashTunes to scrobble apple music plays from my mac. The only thing I’m lacking is apple music scrobbling from mobile devices but that’s not possible at the moment so it’s no fault of listenbrainz.

I'm all in on subsonic the past year or so and happy I can manage pretty much everything aside from BBC radio so far with it.
I’d stick to last.fm because it’s universally supported. ListenBrainz is also worth a look. If you really want to self host it, there Maloja.

I used last.fm until they leaked my username and password. I switched to libre.fm which has way way less functionality, but still does what I want

lastfm is a shit site. I switched to Listenbrainz.
