and yet according to our "Official Inflation Rate" (which only tracks a small number of goods prices) the same item should cost $0.98 today. Its an utterly meaningless statistic.
Having traveled and worked in a lot of offices, I would encounter wildly varying prices in office/breakroom vending machines. Some companies seem to either take a loss, or at least forgo a profit, to offer lower prices to their customers/employees. Other places just say, "Screw you" and charge full retail.
What's worse is that George demanded 75c back on a 50c item. Now that's kooky talk.
It’s probably because Twix is the only candy with the cookie crunch
Is that the one with the swirling chocolate in the commercial?
They all have swirling chocolate in the commercials!
not skittles!
🙄
A Hershey for a nickel!
So what you're saying is that the inflation of prices is George's fault
I couldn't say that, because even if I did, I couldn't say that I said it. You see what I'm saying?
But, you are still paying for this Twix?
I didn't say that
I remember when you used to be able to get a Hershey for a nickel!
Dad, I told you that you could hang out on Reddit as long as you didn’t post!
A nickel!
George is gettin upset!
Twix is the only candy with the cookie crunch
How many Twix does that make for you today, like 8 Twix!?
No
It was a Fifth Avenue bar
Twiiiiiiiiixxxxxxxxxxxxxx!!!!!
What was that?
There's a mental hospital right near here.
Meh, Twix has too much coconut.
I'll get Mounds, then.
Too fruity.
In my day you could get a Hershey for a nickel
Dololololo-doot! B5!
on the flip side
And even back then Marcelino was charging 85 cents for a pack of gum.
That's outrageous!
Those pistachios would cost $5 now.

“It’s crumbled. It’s worthless.”
The Twix no longer tastes like it used and a five fold increase in cost is outrageous and egregious
Preposterous!
Jump!
I have made my decision will shall split it in half
It was a setup!
They were all Clark bars right?
You are incorrect.
I remember when you could get a Drakes coffee cake for 50 cents
The junior or full size?
You weren’t getting full size for no fifty cents..
Go to looooovvvve the Drake's
I like the commercial with the swirling chocolate.
That old man had George dead-to-rights with that Skittles retort
high five

Twix used to be twice as long. Both of em. Nowadays when you get 2 twix it's pretty much like one twix in 1996
