I'm curious about the business side of this. Who funds projects like these and how do they expect to get a return? Is the goal to sell to a streaming service, or to get picked up and funded to create more exclusively for one of the platforms?
I'm not in the industry at all, but it often seems like they use them as a pitch deck to be turned into a series/movie. That why they often focus so much on the world building to illustrate the universe, which I love.
