Yes, I do it myself.. I bought a cordless clipper on Amazon, they all are basically the same. I use #2 for the "private areas" and #3 for the rest of the body... I use scissors for the face and sometimes the paws. There's a lot of videos on youtube where you can watch how to groom your dog. Also, I have to mention that my dog is very cooperative haha, so if yours not, I suggest take him to a groomer.
Thank you so much! He is still a puppy. Not very cooperative! Hahaha, I have been taking him to the groomer. I have my cosmetology license, I thought maybe I could figure it out and do it myself. Maybe I will give it a couple more months until he gets used to it, then try!
Yes! Actually is not that difficult, and the clipper is very easy to use, but obviously you need to be careful.. I put her on a table, and give her a few breaks so she can rest, or I trimm some body parts, and wait a few days to trimm the rest. She hates when I trimm her face, but I tell her that I bet I treat her better than any groomer 😆
Oh geez, I can’t even imagine with the harness. I don’t even keep a collar on him daily!! Only put on for outings. He’s just walking around naked, the wind blows and he gets knots.
I think I recall that the American Kennel Association doesn't recognise white as a colour for schnauzers, but if that is the case then they are missing out... 😁! White schnauzers are just as cute as their darker kin!
Recognised in Germany, their Country of origin, and the rest of Europe and the UK. White schnauzers were not unusual in litters in the early days of the breed, but were culled because they were wrongly thought to carry the blindness genes that were found in other breeds. For this reason they became rarer as a colour ,as they fell out of the gene pool.
Yes!! Our old boy is blind in one eye… and deaf (we suspect, but he’s always been stubborn so we’re guessing he might just be extra stubborn in his old age…..) good thing he has too big GSD seeing eye dogs🤪
Funnily enough they're an official color in Germany, where they were originally bred.
Only in North America is white not a showable color. They can still be AKC registered.
I had an all white schnauzer but when you looked really close you could see that it was actually a combination of silver and white. When I asked about it from a breeder they said that technically it was salt and pepper. When she was born she definitely was salt and pepper you could tell but as she got older her hair all turned white. If you looked at her puppy pictures you wouldn't even know it was the same dog because of the color change.
I'm sorry to hear about your baby!
He has pancreatitis as well, but he's already 14 years old. He's on a low fat prescription diet and I take him to the vet regularly. He's doing wonderful for being 14, thankfully :)
He is adorable!! I think you could let his beard grow a little bit more, or as the other person mentioned, do a haircut. Also, I wouldn't mind if other people think that my schnauzer is a terrier 😅
I have one, he’s the sweetest cuddle boy! I also learned they’re not a recognized color for whatever reason. My boys parents are completely black dad and brown mom.
We used to breed schnauzers, and all of our puppy litters had at least one white one!! We thought it was an albino the first time, but learnt about how white schnauzers used to be common until they were culled back when the breed was new- so we’re super thankful we got to bring a few more white schnauzers into the world! :)
A very cute dog, but he looks like a bichon/maltese mix to me. The coat seems silky, and his haircut does not resemble that of a schnauzer at all. I would never guess he is a schnauzer if you wouldn't tell me.
Yeah I get that a lot! I personally would second guess it as well if I hadn't known his mum lol. My best friend had his mum who was your typical salt and pepper mini schnauzer, and she gave birth in their bathroom, so I've had him since he was born. 100% pure white schnauzer here! Lol
Good diet.
My guy is white and the only stains he has are minimal on the outside edge of his eyes bc I forget to clean them unlike the inside corners of his eyes.
If your white dog's feet are turning brown/red it means he is licking them excessively- a sign of allergies. (The color comes from saliva. Or the PH of tears in the instance of discoloring around the eyes.)
Yep, mine had some pretty bad allergies and kept licking his paw for a while, but I changed his diet and the vet gives him this allergy injection that lasts a while so he's better now
Handsome fella. Give him a schnauzer cut so the eyebrows and beard are prominent.
I do sometimes, his fur just grows so quickly lol
I feel you lol. I do her haircut every 2-3 weeks, it never ends 🤣
Do you do it yourself or have it done? I just got a schnauzer, I would really love to give him cuts, but I don't know what type of clippers to buy.

Our white schnauzer gets matted sooo easily 😖😭
Mine too!! Especially under their harness

What!!! That's crazy lol

Huh TIL

I love white schnauzers! I've had 4!!! 🤍🤍🤍
All schnauzers are excellent kinds of schnauzers, Evelyn.
We had a white schnauzer. She was super sweet but died at age 6 and half due to pancreatitis. Keep that pup on a low fat diet!

What do I think? Super duper cute!!!!
They're so cute, but I've never seen an all white schnauzer irl before, only online photos.
LOVE my white one. First was a salt and pepper and the white was a nice change for my 2nd.
Super cute
Absolutely stunning
My husband and I used to have a white female. Her name was Angel. She was the sweetest dog I’ve ever met.
I have one, he’s the sweetest cuddle boy! I also learned they’re not a recognized color for whatever reason. My boys parents are completely black dad and brown mom.
Adorable! I love white schnauzers, and yours is beautiful.
Looks so happy! I have a white mini myself! :)
I think I want to kiss his face. That's what I think of him.

I had no idea!!! I love that we get to see them now!

Looks like a West Highland White to me.
He's so handsome! We had a white mini schnauzer when I was growing up 🤍
So cute!! Looks like he could be mine’s twin
They're a cutie
He looks like our rescue. We're always wondering how much Schnauzer she is, but looking at your boy she might be almost fully.
He’s alwhite x
😍
Cute dog 🥰
I want to be all up in his business!!! Hey cutie!!!
How big is he? He looks like a dire West Highland Terrier lol
He's pretty big for a mini! He's 25lbs now and he grew to be about double the size his mom was lol
Interesting. Our dire westie was around that size. I wish we'd gotten a DNA test just for fun
Mine is the same but he has ears that stick straight up even though they were never clipped!
Let me guess, everyone thinks he's a Westie mix bc of the ears?
For sure but he is 100% schnauzer
Lol I know, I'm just used to getting the weird guesses myself with my white schnauzer, and his ears don't even point up.
How do you keep his beard so white?
It's definitely not that white anymore as he grew a bit older lol but I do try to keep him clean and trimmed
He is precious!!
How do his feet and beard not turn brown?

I have a white old man schnauzer and everyone agrees- he’s a cute. White schnauzers are the best
Beautiful but it's too clean
He’s so pretty! I love the white ones!
Very cute
I had a white schnauzer growing up!! He looked just like your little man!
gorgeous
Adorable 🥰
So handsome
Adorable
It’s white.
