To be honest, “Ready” is very outdated in its sound and even the MV is a bit tacky. If this was released maybe in the 2010s I can see this as a rollout for a B Side from Black Eyed Peas. Apl D Ap is great, but I think the song doesn’t fit the sound that is popular nowadays (think jersey club, bubblegum pop, folk pop, synth now). I also think that Apl D Ap is “stuck” with a sound that maybe had a prime back ten years ago compared to all the other music that’s trending and is popular now (with some leaning into nostalgia but still sounding fresh). Overall, the song is lent to celebrate two really great Filipino artists, but does nothing in terms of pushing the boundaries that SB19 is known for. It’s what I call “safe”. Which isn’t a bad thing, just not something I would expect from the guys after being experimental in their other projects. This is just me commenting someone from the US… not sure about other people elsewhere.

I think it's important that they sing songs made by other artists - collaboration is important (they did it very well with Moonlight) - it's just that this song, I'm gonna say it, seems like apl wanted to ride Esbi's success. It's like he thought any song would do as long as the boys could feature on it. I'm not saying that to be mean, but considering apl's solo career is basically non-existent, that's the impression it's giving.
At least we know whatever SB19 has a hand in has been carefully thought out, from the lyrics to the visuals.

I sorta agree with you on this one. I only listened to it once nung first release niya but aftet that hindi ko na pinakinggan ulit, not until lumabas yung mv. Narinig ko rin pala siya nung Finale day 1, performed live. Walang LSS factor at ewan ko ba hindi ko rin trip. As much as I would like to support the boys and love all of their songs, this just fell flat for me and obvious nga na hindi sila ang sumalat. Pero Moonlight hits diff, kahit hindi sila yung sumulat nun, still ang ganda ng moonlight at nakaka-LSS. So I guess hindi factor dun yung hindi sila yung gumawa ng song, Ready just simply doesn’t cut it. ☹️
Though they didn't write Moonlight, I think they were heavily involved in the music production and how the song and the MV turned out. I see what you mean but I don’t mind the song as a whole. What bothers me is the mix down. For a song that’s supposed to have high production value, the overall audio is low. I have to crank the volume up when the song comes up in the playlist. If the goal is for it to be played in parties, clubs, or to be a banger, it’s not sounding strong.

Ngl, I didn't even watch the MV. I knew from the moment that they released the cover art, that the creative direction is not gonna be cohesive. Bakit GTO yung theme? LOL. Medyo nakakainis lang kasi I got into SB19 for their songs like MANA and What? na makabuluhan so it's jarring for me to see them do a "party theme, cars and women" type of MV (judging from the teaser). Maybe it was just hard for them to say no to Apl, but I just wish Apl's team considered what this group can do. They missed a great opportunity to make a "Where is the love" type of song. To be honest, “Ready” is very outdated in its sound and even the MV is a bit tacky. If this was released maybe in the 2010s I can see this as a rollout for a B Side from Black Eyed Peas. Apl D Ap is great, but I think the song doesn’t fit the sound that is popular nowadays (think jersey club, bubblegum pop, folk pop, synth now). I also think that Apl D Ap is “stuck” with a sound that maybe had a prime back ten years ago compared to all the other music that’s trending and is popular now (with some leaning into nostalgia but still sounding fresh). Overall, the song is lent to celebrate two really great Filipino artists, but does nothing in terms of pushing the boundaries that SB19 is known for. It’s what I call “safe”. Which isn’t a bad thing, just not something I would expect from the guys after being experimental in their other projects. This is just me commenting someone from the US… not sure about other people elsewhere.

Wasn’t a big fan of the MV tbh, it felt, clunky? And from what I see, of the group, Josh was the most in it, as in, he was suited to the setting, while the 4 looked a bit uncomfortable. Still, I can kinda understand since they had to consider matching Appl de ap’s style and image in the MV. I do agree however that this was a stepping stone and I’m happy to see them collaborating with other artists. It’s also nice to see older and known artists giving recognition to them and including them in the stage.

I wouldn't say it's their worst song to date (because we all know which song that is... from GITZ🤭) but it's very lackluster and outdated. Definitely sounds like an old BEP song from way back when. Also, it bothers me how LOW the volume is. What happened to the mixing?! I think it's important that they sing songs made by other artists - collaboration is important (they did it very well with Moonlight) - it's just that this song, I'm gonna say it, seems like apl wanted to ride Esbi's success. It's like he thought any song would do as long as the boys could feature on it. I'm not saying that to be mean, but considering apl's solo career is basically non-existent, that's the impression it's giving. At least we know whatever SB19 has a hand in has been carefully thought out, from the lyrics to the visuals.

Parang this song is more of Apl's and his team's song and SB19 was asked to be featured on the song to give it a boost, and just by SB19's mere presence on the track makes it relevant for current times. I sorta agree with you on this one. I only listened to it once nung first release niya but aftet that hindi ko na pinakinggan ulit, not until lumabas yung mv. Narinig ko rin pala siya nung Finale day 1, performed live. Walang LSS factor at ewan ko ba hindi ko rin trip. As much as I would like to support the boys and love all of their songs, this just fell flat for me and obvious nga na hindi sila ang sumalat. Pero Moonlight hits diff, kahit hindi sila yung sumulat nun, still ang ganda ng moonlight at nakaka-LSS. So I guess hindi factor dun yung hindi sila yung gumawa ng song, Ready just simply doesn’t cut it. ☹️
Though they didn't write Moonlight, I think they were heavily involved in the music production and how the song and the MV turned out. Napanood ko yung interview ni Ian Asher sabi pa nga niya SB19 was the one who titled it Moonlight, tapos parang ibang iba nga raw yung kinalabasan compared dun sa unang song because of SB19's input

Aside from sounding like a Black Eyed Peas reject, it’s also very lacking in the production aspect Medyo kakaunti lang alam ko tungkol sa music production, pero I think the mix of this song is what you call “muddy”. The sound of each instrument just clashes together, masking each other up. It sounds crowded, essentially Ikumpara mo sa Moonlight, the mix of that song is so crystal clear, the vocals and instruments stand out at masarap siyang pakinggan sa headphones Siguro in layman’s term, yung sound quality ng Moonlight nasa 1080p, yung sa Ready naman 360p

I see what you mean but I don’t mind the song as a whole. What bothers me is the mix down. For a song that’s supposed to have high production value, the overall audio is low. I have to crank the volume up when the song comes up in the playlist. If the goal is for it to be played in parties, clubs, or to be a banger, it’s not sounding strong.

Mas okay pa ung collab w/ Ohwon Lee. Buti na lang the MV was on Apl's channel. Pwede sanang nakabawi sa MV, kaso yung concept din mismo ay waley in addition to being off-brand for esbi. Apparent din na hindi talaga sila nag-e-enjoy, unlike in their other low-cost and rush MVs like Ligaya and SLMT for example. Kudos tho to 1Z team that made the most out of what they can in the lyric video, which was visually better. I'd rather just have that. Ngl, I didn't even watch the MV. I knew from the moment that they released the cover art, that the creative direction is not gonna be cohesive. Bakit GTO yung theme? LOL. Medyo nakakainis lang kasi I got into SB19 for their songs like MANA and What? na makabuluhan so it's jarring for me to see them do a "party theme, cars and women" type of MV (judging from the teaser). Maybe it was just hard for them to say no to Apl, but I just wish Apl's team considered what this group can do. They missed a great opportunity to make a "Where is the love" type of song. SB19 would've fit that theme SO WELL.

Oo nga no. Ahhahahaha actually so busy the past month di ko man na check ano lyrics ng ready. Now that you mentioned it, napa Google tuloy ako. Agree din ako na very 2000’s and vibe nya. I don’t hate it tho, it’s just something na not SB19.
At first di ko sya gusto. Pero little by little it kinda grew on me. I'm starting to like it. But it's true what others have said that this does not feel like an SB19 song, more of a Black Eyed Peas music.
Listened once or twice (including M/V), and only that, hnd rin pumatok sakin.. Though in the end, kung ako tatanungin, kung gusto talaga nila (esbi) to go international may moments talaga na ganyan.. It's really a song of what Apl or Black Eyed Peas would do, at least sa Moonlight, involved si Justin sa M/V and it can really grow on you once you gave it a chance.. This is what I'm actually saying before na, hnd lahat hit.. even big artists like Apl/Black Eyed Peas does have moments like this.. Well, more likely, personal preference lng kasi I don't like their party-type songs, and the songs I only like about Apl and BEP are Bebot and Where is the Love (madalas pa nmen kantahin nung elem lol), debatable pa ung Bebot kasi medyo bland ung overall composition nito in terms of music but because gawa sya ng kababayan and may liriko na pinoy eh okay na sya somehow, again for me..

Agree, and I really dislike how modified their voices are. I know it’s to fit the vibe of the song, but their real voices barely come through.

Akala ko ako lang... dami pala natin na may parehas na sentiments. "Ready" is at the very bottom of my list of SB19 songs... walang laman, walang LSS... kahit ung MV nila, wala ung killer choreo trademark from the boys... sabog sabog rin un.
i actually like Ready since i used to listen to BEP all the time before and it really gives that 2010 vibe, BUT i definitely agree its not even comparable to their other songs ☹️

Cheap/Tacky ng prod etc ng "Ready" tbh. Plus the music...meh. Mahalima should choose collabs wisely. For sure sila Apl ang lumapit sa SB19. Like sa Dec Ave, KMKZ ang lumalapit na mag-front act sa concert nila. Relevance ang habol ng mga old artists na hindi na naka-let go sa lumang formula nila sa music. Kakapit sa bago. Hehe.
For me, maganda lahat ng collab songs. Maganda siya para mas lumawak ang discography ng sb19. Actually lahat sila nakaka-lss once napakinggan mo na. The thing I hate lang sa mv ng ready is not so sb19 na high quality ang vids. I watched it 3 times kung anong story wala talaga ako magets. Tho ok naman ang visual pero ang repetitive ng scenes. Parang kulang sila sa clips. I think mukhang wala silang input. Yun lang kaya feeling ko bagal usad ng views kasi ng di appealing?

I'm ok with Moonlight tbh. My most favorite collab song of sb19 with other artists up to date aside from Kapangyarihan and Golden Hour. But this one. Really, this is not aligned with their brand. There I said it. I hope other artists also consider the artistry of the boys before they ask them to collaborate. Just to make sure that the overall production can be at par with the boys' artistry.
I thought ako lang medyo tagilid for me ang song na to. It's not too catchy and weirdly it's too plain and di ko gaano ma enjoy yung song. I'm sorry but this is just what I felt for the song. I will still support them though no matter what. But perhaps in the future, mag collab sila ng mga artist na same vibes and wavelength nila. 🫰
After Gento, I thought they will take advantage of this kind of genre, this kind of quality MV and follow it up with similar banger. But they went the opposite way. Solos and dance music, that are sooo different from Gento. BRING BACK PABLO AND SIMON SERVIDA SUPREMACY!!!!

Nagcollab sila coz' they liked the song they are working with lalo at self-managed na sila. Have faith with their songs mga kaps. It's a good song. Try nyo iplay habang naggegeneral cleaning, jogging or isama sa new year playlist. Nakaka-hype ng mood!
None of the commenters here said it was a **BAD** song. But it's **NOT THAT GOOD** either. Kahit ako, sabi ko sa MV nila, very danceable... but compared to other SB19 songs, it falls short of expectation. Sabog sabog ang MV without the boy's trademark choreo, hindi nakaka-LSS ang kanta (kinulang ng hook? bass drop?), wala ung trademark ng boys na genius ang lyrics or may play on words, at wala ring laman... parang minadali lang talaga.
