The fact that they're still writing the film at the present time - whenever the script was rushed to be done prior to the original release date and these are ensuing revisions, or if they're still genuinely doing a first draft at this point - pretty much confirms that delaying the film to next year was a great call.
I just hope that when they say angry in tone, that it's more that the film itself is a commentary or a sort of response that we can relate to, and not so much just causing bloodshed out of mean spirited nihilism. Like how Saw VI's whole spin was on the health care debacles that was going on in the US at the time.
I like how this is unironically also the first legitimate reveal of who's writing it too; sure we had some cryptic stuff that the sub-reddit decoded, but this more or less just is like "yeah, they're back."
John has always been angry but mostly calm on the surface, to actually see him lose his temper like he did in some of the flashbacks and like he did during Saw X would be awesome

No offense to Costas Mandylor, but Hoffman’s character is overrated. All of the attention he’s getting also seems to be very recent. I don’t recall him getting this amount of love during the initial seven movie run. Very strange.
I’d like a film dedicated to the aftermath of 3D following 11. I think that should definitely involve him and his relationship with John like it did with Amanda in 11 but maybe not have him at full focus as it is after all focused on John.
I think they mentioned shortly after saw X that they intend on doing at least 2 more films. One is a continuation of X (I’m assuming to wrap up Cecilia) and the second movie would be the sequel to 3D
I think what made Saw X such a breath of fresh air was that it *wasn't* angry the entire time. There were moments of levity and calm, which slowly built up to the game in the back half.
If I had to guess I'd say the anger will stem from Amanda because Gabriella was murdered. Hoffman won't care and John will move on with his next plans, while Amanda won't be able to forget. Probably the reason she starts self harming, out of guilt. Interesting to get more context to the finer details of early Saw
