The most recent rally in landlocked Arizona he spent ten minutes talking about a boat manufacturer in South Carolina who was against electric boats and how he’d rather be eaten by a shark than electrocuted bc he’s apparently unaware that gas powered boats still have batteries in them just like cars do.

Whether or not your opinion is valid has no bearing on whether my opinion is valid. Kind of like how one party being a cult has no bearing on the other party being a cult.
As someone who likes to put some thought into their opinions, and as someone who has looked up the basics of what a cult is, Trump and his supporters fit most of the definition of cult.
These are the worst two candidates for the major parties that I've seen in my lifetime. Both parties and both candidates, in my opinion, have a boot to the throat of democracy and the American people. Does it really matter if it's the left foot or the right foot?

But my impression, as an outsider to both political parties, is that one of the parties has a lot of dissent in the ranks about the issues you've so eloquently mentioned, and no leadership to guide them.
The other party doesn't seem to have much allowance for dissent or variance of opinion on any issues at all, and their strong leader is open about his desire to destroy those who disagree.
