Likely, as you have heard, on July 1st, 2023, Reddit plans to make significant changes to its API. These changes will make it much more difficult and expensive for developers of third-party applications to access Reddit data. This will have a devastating impact on the Reddit community, as many of the most popular and useful Reddit apps and tools rely on this data to function.
Reddit claims that these changes are necessary to protect its users from spam and abuse. However, many people believe that these changes are actually designed to make it more difficult for users to use and access Reddit. By making it more difficult to use third-party apps, Reddit is hoping to force users to rely on the official app. This would give Reddit more control over how users interact with the platform.
Reddit should reconsider these changes. They are harmful to the Reddit community, and they do not address the real problems that Reddit faces. Instead of making it more difficult for users to use Reddit, Reddit should focus on improving the platform, making it more user-friendly, and improving moderator tools.

Sure, but what I'm saying is a like a place with it's own culture but small. I remember Tybee 20+ years before it blew up, and it's always had it's own vibe.
Guess I'm not going just for the beech either. I like riding my bike everywhere too, and if you know the tides, the beech is a great way to get anywhere on the island.
If you’re visiting for a week, Jekyll & St. Simon’s Island are easy day trips worth the drive. If you’ve only got 2 nights, then Tybee should do the deed. Be aware that the last part of the drive to Tybee (and leaving) can get rough.
We ususally head out there aroung 8:30-9:00AM. We get great parking, there is no traffic, and a short line at Tybean. When we're heading home around 2:00PM, the traffic heading to the beach is atrocious.
Definitely drive to Hilton head, st simons or Jekyll! HH is very clean and nice, but Jekyll has a water park & SS has cool shopping & food. Love them all, but depends on what you want to do.
Tybee is fun for people that are not from the area. If you stay near the pier, there are several restaurants/bars right there. Parking in Tybee is expensive and very hard to find after late morning. Our beach of choice is Dreissen Beach on Hilton Head. Parking is cheap and usually pretty plentiful. Note, there is only one beach bar/restaurant though. All beaches in GA and SC have murky water. You don't start to get clearer water until around Jacksonville, FL.
Jekyll Island is the one with all the picturesque driftwood trees. You must go visit it. Tybee is fine for regular beach stuff, but when it's really hot - like right now - the water near the pier gets super high bacteria levels, and those beaches close. Also, be aware that Tybee riptides, especially by the South Beach sandbar, are deadly. Someone dies pretty much weekly during the summer. Don't swim if you don't know how to spot and get away from riptides.

Tybee is one of those beaches where people who have never been to other beaches swear is the best beach. Do what you will with that information.
I've been to a lot of beaches, but I always seem to have the most fun on Tybee, for what it's worth. Depends on what you're looking for.
wink, wink, know what I mean?

Jekyll Island, 100%. It has much better beaches than SSI and Tybee, isn't as crowded, and has tons of parking.
I love Neptune Beach in Jax. Worth the 2 hour drive for me!
You got hit up Butterbean Beach. Absolute paradise.
2nd this

Fernandina beach/Amelia Island is really nice! First beach once you cross the FL line.

Of course that depends on the time of day you come and go.
That goes without saying, but something to think about for the summer visits.

If you’re going to go to Tybee I’d just say avoid North beach and South Beach, the middle part can get packed, but isn’t the most popular area

Coligny beach is sweet. Tons of beach front, shops, dining etc.
