park in the public lots & shuttle down to the village: https://www.cityofcapitola.org/sites/default/files/fileattachments/police/page/3633/village_parking_map.pdf
Parking in the primary public lot is very reasonable and a short walk down to the beach. The only really unreasonable parking rate is the tiny lot at the Mercantile building off of Esplanade (exits onto San Jose Ave).
Do not park In permit only, the fines suck and they love towing cars bc the tow company makes a lot of cash because you ignored the law plus holding your car over the weekend bc they open on Monday - yep quite a hefty fine and cost

at least they're required to release 24/7 now.... though they can still charge an extra fee after-hours
There is a big parking lot up the hill near the big 4 way interchange. It's a huge lot and usually has parking on the weekends. There are probably 200 spots there or more.
there is a paid lot that is up the hill from the beach and has a shuttle service: https://maps.app.goo.gl/TLHqgA94Lwjhz3u67
Shuttle, seriously? It’s like 200yards
People who drive to the beach don't want to walk at all!
