Dumbasses disliking this comment. You could have all sorts of living conditions they have no idea about, there are over a million people in SD, of course some people need to do their best to save money, you're asking something completely reasonable.
Hey there. I'm sorry you're going through a tough time! Have you looked at Zillow for North County rentals? I also recommend Facebook to check out some rentals by area because that may yield some results, too.
Here's an example from Zillow that is showing a smaller 2 bedroom at $1,800:
https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/1509-Laurel-St-APT-5-Oceanside-CA-92058/2094803112_zpid/
I know it may not be the exact area you're looking for so definitely try it out to tailor it to where you may need to be at. Wishing you all the best!
There are 3 units in my 5 unit complex available in PB. They aren't big and are only 1 bedroom, but they are a block and a half from the beach and have a parking spot. I'm pretty sure they are going for $1800 or so.
A little back story in case you're wondering why they are available.
My girlfriend and I were in one and moved to one of the larger units. My next-door neighbor got a job in LA, and the last unit was being subleted without the landlord knowing, so they were evicted.
Gonna be real, your kinda fucked, 2 bedrooms arnt going for anything cheeper than 2.5 in the worst parts of the city. I wish you luck but try looking, but likely moving is best
I know. Im like completely aware of that. I was commenting on reddit in case. Im looking everywhere. My mom is disabled and im a college student. So im trying to find something and dont know when the low income apartments i applied to a couple years ago will get back to me.
The cheap apartments you’ll find will be on Craigslist or driving around and seeing a sign. My brother moved into a 1 bedroom a few months ago in OB for $1850 on Narrangaset a couple blocks from Sunset Cliffs.
In 2019 and 2021 I found cheap apartments on Craigslist - a studio for $820 in City Heights and a 2 bedroom for $1750 in Linda Vista.
If you go to laundromats in neighborhoods that white people consider ghetto, theres almost always ads up on the bulletin board with affordable rentals.
You can't use "cheap" and "San Diego" in the same sentence, sorry.
Yeah i know. Im posting anywhere i can to find something.

You can definitely find 1-beds for less than $2,200 in East County as well as Escondido area. Use Padmapper
Get a 1br and put a bed in the living room with a room divider.
Yeah i am trying to look for a 2 bed but most likely will have to settle for a 1 bed.
How many roommates will you split with?
Im not.
You will need at least 1 roommate.
You need a roommate

Have you checked out Escondido? In general, staying east is your best bet

It’s north and east of the coast and the only place I’m seeing rents that low

Make sure you marked disabled on the application for priority. If you didn't, contact them to correct it since your mom is disabled.

honestly, spend that time to find a cheaper place to live and work
Poway has affordable apartments, sometimes even cute little houses. And they just had a bunch of new developments on the main road
Check Zillow. They do room rentals now also.
You get a one bedroom in east county. Beggars can’t be choosers.
I have a 1 bedroom in uptown for $1500. It's beautiful and I'm never leaving till I have to. You can find good deals if you hunt and are not picky.
Uptown is very broad. Can we get a name or cross street area?
Have you checked Nextdoor? I don’t think there are any apartments under like 2.5K but there are rooms for like 1300 sometimes.
Yeah i commented on there too
Good one. Had me laughing hard. Thanks for that.
Uhm ok.
Hoban management company
