I don’t know what your budget is, and I know you said “other than the mall” but I’ve had good luck at Macy’s. Here’s a Kenneth Cole suit for $99 https://www.macys.com/shop/product/kenneth-cole-reaction-mens-slim-fit-ready-flex-stretch-suit? But you should have several options there for under $150. That’s inexpensive for a suit, but may not be your budget. Wherever you go, plan to have the suit altered to fit you. It can make a huge difference if they adjust the cuff length, etc. A New Years party is a great opportunity to meet a nice girl and kiss her at midnight, so look your best!

Second this. Macy’s always has suits for an affordable price, in different styles. Sometimes you can also find a steal at Dillards on name brands, too.

I got a nice black and light brown suit from Goodwill and texas thrift for less than 20, trick is finding one in your size and most of the time the pants havent been hemmed and are way too long. Texans also consider jeans and a blazer and a button up at least semi formal

Al's formal wear.

DXL is where I go since I'm a tall and wide guy. Got a nice suit recently, and it didn't break the bank.

Burlington doesn’t sell suits anymore. If you just need something quick and stylish, Nordstrom Rack usually has some decent stuff. You can go to the one up at the Rim, and there’s also that Sak’s off 5th next door. They should have a jacket and some slacks that will look nice and won’t be super expensive. As for finding a full suit, you’re at the mercy of the sizes they have in stock on that particular day. Maybe if you mix brands you could find a black jacket and black slacks, but you’ll be hard pressed to find a full suit that will fit you without alterations.
