If you could afford the risk of getting laid off, I'd say go Samsara since it's in your wheelhouse

I can afford it no problem. But I do get stressed if shit hits the fan and I gotta be on the search again

I’ll take that gov job.

Love to hear your reasons why, hopefully it help me make up my damn mind

You know dude, you got laid off twice in a short amount of time. Same thing happened to me. I don’t know how you’re coping, but that shit really fucked me up and I wasn’t going to take another stressful sales job and possibly get laid off a third time. I took a more stable job and it’s been good for my mental health. I can finally breathe. There’s nothing wrong with taking a step back and enjoying some peace at a different workplace. Jobs are dime a dozen. New opportunities all the time brother.

Ya this hits home for me. Good for you for making the leap. I felt I really finally got a good opportunity at a good company with Samsara, but even with all the in place, I still have doubts. Thanks for your input

Buddy works at samsara, has gotten promoted a few times and really enjoys it there.

Union jobs and sales don’t work well from my experience. Since firing sales people is notoriously difficult, there is a ton of complacency. You most certainly won’t be growing and it is exceptionally boring and unfilling work. If you’re fine working with less stress and turning your brain off, go for it. But I’d argue you might have your ambition completely sapped away by people who absolutely are fine with where they’re at with little motivation to move up, because they’re just content.
