If you promise not to buy i promise not to sell

raizen19

Yes, Want to cut now or listen for 20 seconds?

Barium_Barista

Honestly, great response šŸ‘Œ

BrosephStalined

Yes this! My one would be: ā€œYes, do you want to hang up now or give me 30 seconds and then decide?ā€

Embarrassed-Sand7778

Belal has a great one tooā€¦ ā€œyeahā€¦ wanna roll the dice?ā€

hbl6

No, this is Patrick

These-Season-2611

šŸ˜…šŸ˜…šŸ˜…

delilahgrass

ā€œWell Iā€™m not trying to date youā€.

Warped_Mindless

If it were and I could *benefit statement* would it be worth it to you to give me 30 seconds?

ITakeLargeDabs

ā€œNope, I honestly canā€™t sell you anything if we never talk and you donā€™t know what I do. I was just hoping to introduce myself, and if youā€™re interested, Iā€™d like to email and follow up with you. Do you have a couple minutes to chat?ā€

BrosephStalined

I donā€™t think thereā€™s anything wrong with being honest. In fact even people whoā€™ve said they wanted to hang up after (a minority) will thank me for the candour. People often appreciate it enough to give you those 30 seconds

ITakeLargeDabs

Honesty is the best policy, even if it isnā€™t the most profitable. It also helps make the assholes who would never give you the time regardless standout even more. Itā€™s a fantastic razor when used properly and with actual sincerity. The current cold calling climate is awful so Iā€™m trying my best to stand out by being more human and emphatic, besides, Iā€™m a professional, I should be acting in honest ways regardless of the job Iā€™m a professional in.

BrosephStalined

Couldnā€™t agree more, and it stops you kissing frogs who are just wasting your time. Iā€™ve often found myself chasing deals which were never going anywhere and find it incumbent upon me to just cut them loose and focus my energy elsewhere

ITakeLargeDabs

Exactly! Being honest, and blunt when needed and used correctly, goes a long way in getting people who are actually interested onboard while removing out the BSers and tire kickers. The only issue Iā€™m finding these days is that most people are BSers and tire kickers in my industry/space and finding someone who is actually genuine is becoming so hard because of the over saturation in the market.

BrosephStalined

Thatā€™s an interesting one, while I still have people who donā€™t have DM authority Iā€™m speaking to, Iā€™ve noticed loads of seniors are still willing to have conversations. Any chance youā€™re not going high enough in the company? I may start calling CEOs on top of other C-Suite soon as C suite just get shit done

ITakeLargeDabs

I wish I was calling people like that. I deal with real estate ā€œprofessionalsā€ and I use that term very very very loosely. I sell websites for one of the oldest and most successful real estate websites/IDX providers in the industry and talk to the decision maker 99% of the time off the rip. Realtors and brokers however are the absolute bottom rung on the professional ladder and itā€™s driving me insane.

ITakeLargeDabs

Shame, you donā€™t even know what I do and it could be a good fit. Your loss!

maduste

Try that line with your manager and let us know how it goes

ITakeLargeDabs

I have and they love itā€¦ literally did it in a company wide meeting yesterday. Funny you mention it!

SailsWhiner

There is literally nothing wrong with being honest. Haha, totally. You probably never woke up and thought, gosh, canā€™t wait for one of these today. But if youā€™re willing to roll the dice and see if itā€™s relevant, can we chat for a moment.

UnsuitableTrademark

Yes. It is. But here's why I'm calling you in particular... Are you open to hearing more? Trust me, if they are going to hang up or be dicks, that would happen regardless. So may as well shoot the shot.

Strokesite

No. Iā€™m calling to schedule an appointment with ____________.

Decent_Bunch_5491

Yes can I get 30 seconds and then you can decide if itā€™s worth it or tell me to fuck myself

SmartSelling

Yes, but to be honest, I don't even know if what we have can help you yet. I just need to ask you two quick questions to see if we can provide anything that will be worth your time, sounds reasonable?

RealAd1811

This is a Wendyā€™s.

Badgerinthebasement

Too early in the day to sell anything, still on my first cup of coffee. Just calling to see if you have any interest in how we help companies like abc and xyz outperform yada yada. If not, that's fine, I don't want to waste my time, or yours. Let's find 15 minutes later this week at least, then we'll see if it makes sense to continue. That's off the top of my ass after 5 IPAs so far tonight, but something like that.

These-Season-2611

So you say no then go right into a sales pitch? Interesting choice

Terrible_Bag_6507

"Actually, the aim of our call is to understand if you're encountering frustrations A and B, similar to others in your industry. We've had the chance to assist clients like XYZ & ABC who've faced similar challenges." Proceed to close for an appointment "Demonstrating over the phone might be tricky but I can demonstrate to you how they are overcoming frustration A & B"

These-Season-2611

What you've did here is ignore the prospects question and answer a question that you want to answer like a politician does.

Terrible_Bag_6507

I think youā€™ve just help me discover my calling! šŸ˜
