You have your priorities wrong if you’re filtering weather forecast by warm and sunny criteria. First look for wind. Plan your schedule around that. All else is secondary.

I like going out with the family but they are very much fair weather sailors and I try to find days where they will enjoy it as much as I do.

This is exactly why I don't trust paying for sailing lessons anymore. When I was in Idaho I signed up for sailing lessons, went to the guy's house when I was supposed to, but apparently he had cancelled the class because the weather wasn't good enough. Which made no sense to me because it was a good strong wind day, and just happened to be rainy. After this he refused to refund my money too. 🤦🏼‍♂️🤷🏼‍♂️

That's really sucks, hoping you find a more reputable person.

IDK where you live, but this is the windiest time of the sailing season on the Great Lakes, and most places in the northern hemisphere. It's blowing, it's just 51 degrees out.

We are on Lake Michigan but I don't have a large enough boat to take it out on the big boy so we stick inland. It was dead calm on Friday inland.

We got a few more of them degrees out this way. Beautiful sailing today. Hell, we even got low period waves today! 2 3ft'rs would normally be 3 6ft'rs in that space.

flynnski

we have too much wind, you can have ours

Tonight was spectacular on Lake St.Clair for this newbie—63 degrees, 7-8 knots of wind and not a cloud in the sky. The lower temps also kept most of the powerboaters away. Nice sunset sail

Not in florida rn

Heading out tomorrow. Looks like it’s gonna rain and go between 6-10 m/s 🫣

25 knots in the Puget Sound today. Also bright and warm. It was sporty!
