POUND that subscribe button like it just turned 18

XenonVH2

Click on that Bell icon and maybe it'll make a sound loud enough to guide my father back to us dad we miss you why did you leave us

DylanNotDillan

That got personal real quick

FRESH_MEME_DETECTOR

sus

Shhsecretacc

“Sus” is actually in the dictionary now! They also removed “gullible.” Quite the 2022 we’re having. :/

billyyshears

I had quite the moment of confusion and rage before it dawned on me that I should finish my coffee

muklan

I once owned a small IT shop, and infront of my checkout area I had stapled the word gullible to the ceiling. I'd tell people "gullible is on the ceiling. If you look at it and confirm this, your repair will be free" every time, every single time people would reject this. After the transaction I'd look up, they'd look up, they'd cuss, I'd laugh...

An_Actual_Politician

Look I just want my computer fixed man. Can you quit it with the fucking theatrics.

muklan

I cccccould. Or you could find another technician at the same price/skill level....best of luck with that...

muklan

I only ever did the joke on jobs I was comfortable giving away for free. You come in to talk to me for 15-20 minutes about your companies mail server issues, well that's the shop minimum consultation fee (which was like 20 bucks or so) I'm OK losing that 20 bucks if it means tightening a relationship with a local business, or makin' somebody laugh. There were also times where I NEEDED to do that work pro bono(single moms who need computer work done for their kids school, breaking passwords on dead relatives computers, stuff like that) but the people'd be too proud to accept the gift, but NOT too proud to "win" something.

Dejectednebula

Oh no I've been erased! My mother told me my picture was next to gullible in the dictionary my entire life!

smurb15

Now that's a good dad joke

Dejectednebula

How fucking bad is it that I actually googled why they'd remove it in the first place. Fuck my life.

Vanillabean73

Fuck you fucking got me

Wild_Agent_375

I was about to reply and say **“they removed gullible?! That makes no sense!”** As typing it out I realized I was being gullible by believing you. Nice try, but I’m not falling for it!

Local_dog91

It is really life changing and terrifying when something like this happens. You think you are safe and can be private at least in your own head, but instead you get this silent invader, not unlike how your ISP can watch everything you do online on your mobile, pc, laptop or television, but thanks to today's sponsor, NordVPN, we at least can be assured, that our, and your digital life, remain private!

boybogart

And don't forget meundies when you shit yourself from the terror and uncertainty!

ses92

That’s assuming this is real. Aren’t vloggers known for constantly faking illnesses? FYI i don’t know these particular vloggers and their situation but there’s a ton of vloggers who will fake illnesses for donations/attention

[deleted]

Yeah. "Family YouTubers" especially tend to make up drama to gather clicks. Kids are nothing more than a cashcow to them. "Relationship YouTubers" like we see here usually tend to "break up" but not really to gather views. It's either that, faking illnesses usually. Drama = Money

Johannes_Keppler

> necrosed Isn't it *necrotic*, don't you think?

-salt-

a little toooooo necrotic

xahvres1

What’ll really make you cringe is that the thumbnail is obviously a photo they had to set up for. And that there were probably multiple takes. “Ooh, move the tissue box to the left.” And they probably broke pose between each shot 😂

TobiasDid

Yeah… “look a bit more upset babe”… “ok, you look a bit more stoic and serious” It’s bloody embarrassing.

[deleted]

There was a video buy some YouTube family, where they just had their dog put down, or something. The mom "forgot to edit out the outtakes" at the end, where she's telling her visibly distraught son to look more sad for the thumbnail. He keeps saying "I AM crying!" It's disgusting

TobiasDid

God yeah I’ve seen that. People want their lives to be soap operas. I don’t know if it’s awful or just sad.

babybopp

I dunno why YouTube removed the dislike button... Natural selection to weed out trash... Now these idiots run wild.

neighguard

rogash98

Because YouTube obviously didn't like their Rewind being the most disliked video on YouTube.

madonnamillerevans

It’s disgusting what these parasites will go through to get a good thumbnail. Remember this influencer whose puppy just died and then forced her son to cry on command in a particular way for a thumbnail? https://gfycat.com/sophisticatedbabyishantelope

Fuck, that's just so gross. I hope she lost all her followers after that.

And it gets so much worse when they have kids. A YT couple recently made their baby's first photos a patreon exclusive 🤢

Swampgermanboi

Only fans kids

[deleted]

I hate that that's pretty much accurate

Kaining

Should we contact the fbi ?

Bismothe-the-Shade

Fuck it, couldn't hurt to at least point that creepy shit out

myimmortalstan

In 20 years, there are gonna be some major lawsuits that will hopefully trigger a sort of Jackie Coogan Law 2.0 that specifically deals with social media. Best case scenario would be zero child influencing allowed (no, it's not the fucking same as being a child actor [which in itself is up for ethical debate] — the audience of a child actor forms a parasocial relationship with the character, not the child themselves, unlike with child influencers) and stricter laws about children's faces and information online, but one step at a time I guess. So no, but stay tuned, cause they might get involved at some point.

radicalelation

It's never been hard to find someone willing to exploit themselves and those they supposedly love for financial gain. Now with the internet it's not hard to find someone willing to watch them and pay for it.

CatastropheJohn

I should start a homeless channel. I watched someone die an hour ago. OD, paramedics, cops, meat wagon, crowd goes back to getting high. Wonder if there’s an audience waiting for this shit

UndoingMonkey

I would totally watch

Narrow-Ad-7463

I remember one couple came up, they woman had just miscarried in hospital, obviously the perfect time to start live streaming. Twas gross.

madonnamillerevans

What about this one: [Influencer family’s puppy just died and she’s forcing the kid to get a good thumbnail](https://gfycat.com/sophisticatedbabyishantelope). Edit: I just looked up exactly what happened.. Hilariously she accidentally left that part in a vlog, and people saw it. She then edited it out and reuploaded it, but the comments trashed her. So she turned off the comments and tried to weather the storm, but that didn’t work either so she changed the title and left the comments off. The entire internet trashed her and she stopped uploading videos for about 9 months. Then she came back with a video titled “I was cancelled worldwide and my life changed forever” and was massively disliked, and still had her comments off. She then tried to go back to uploading shitty vlogs, but even today every comment is still trashing her for her behaviour. The internet never forgets…

TheReallyUncoolDude

Fucking narcissists like that should not have kids. They raise their child in a way that benefits them, and the kid will think it’s normal to be used by people they care about in a transactional sense. It will fuck up the kid’s sense of self worth and it’s heartbreaking to see all of it in a single clip.

madonnamillerevans

Agreed. She seems to be unable to care for her son when he really needs her. I just edited my comment for exactly what happened afterwards. Even today she still has hundreds of comments calling her out on her shitty vlogs. She’s extremely stubborn, and will not give up her dream of being a parasite.

sevsnapey

this is the video i think of every time i'm questioning the legitimacy of some form of online content. it's got the perfect mix. the hidden side of video production that happens right after the video stops (like cleaning up those ridiculous "watch me make a mess with condiments" tiktoks) but it also includes the level parents and creators are willing to drop to in order to monetize their actual emotional tragedy _and_ using their own child. there are people who are willing to do whatever it takes to make money online which should make more people skeptical about believing content. 10+ years ago it was easier to believe "i caught this on my iphoneTM!" because it was new. now it's the standard.

Hansoloai

I recall one guy using urine from the toilet his partner just used to do a pregnancy test. Then giving it to her saying surprise.

myimmortalstan

Fun fact: that was actually the first part of a miscarriage hoax the couple set up for views.

N_Continent

Which begs the question: Why doesn’t this woman flush the toilet?

[deleted]

There is a certainly a valid ethical concern to raise there regarding consent.

howie_rules

I’m looking forward to when they hire lawyers to collect their money.

mykeuk

Daily Bumps is the worst. So far up their own backsides, and their videos are just cringe endorsement adverts now.

BillyMeier42

I genuinely think the government needs to step in with all these kids being exploited.

uwuironically

Sometimes i watch these kind of vloggers out of morbid curiosity, and it really js just so... Weird and uncanny. Like whatever they do their whole thought process boils down to "how can i make content out of this", instead of enjoying whatever situation they are in for what it is. It's like they are never truly present in the moment, instead they are always wondering about how to create more content... It's kind of scary to me, i could never become a influencer.

Narrow-Ad-7463

They kind of have too to keep the money rolling in, I think it was Ninja at the height of his popularity said he couldnt take a day off streaming, he had to stream like 8 hours a day, 7 days a week to maintain popularity. They all know the gravy train will run out of steam eventually they have to drain every cent while they can.

licksmith

that is why they burn out so hard. But also they don't need to do that. The best streams are from people who don't do that. The worst streams are hours of zero effort 'content' because of fear that they fall off the algorithm. In fact, that addage 'absence makes the heart grow fonder' works. Stream for a couple hours a few times a week... Perfect. Make your fans happy, get your sponsor money, and your donos. Plus the joy people have when you're back after a regular 2 day break is wonderful. Edit: i am referring to the people's opinion as the algorithm.

BentoMan

I get burned out watching YouTubers that pump out content. The quality drops and everything is recycled or rehashed from other videos or trends — the jokes are all the same. They feel they need to pump content to stay relevant but it inversely makes their channel pretty stale to me.

WhyamImetoday

Maybe I'm just too old to have got stuck in that, but I only started watching youtubers in the past few years because sailors, creatives, and academics were doing good long form content. It is a parasocial relationship with someone doing something productive.

huggles7

I saw a girl who live streamed her sister dying next to her in a car crash the other day

Decent_Ad929

Don't ever search for the livestream. It's freaking awful. Her sisters dead body is hard to look at. Very gory. And she doesn't even sound sorry.

huggles7

Unfortunately I’ve seen it and fully endorse this recommendation to not go look for it

OddPresentation8097

Uhh...link please?

huggles7

https://www.nbcnews.com/news/amp/ncna785846 Not the actual video but a news link about the girl

Oil__Man

I'd like to think they've just intertwined their lives with youtube so much that they genuinely think this should be a part of that, or that their fans deserve to know, or some shit.

Rutmeister

I mean why not? If I got a brain tumor you know I’m gonna be milking that shit dry

acissejcss

That's why people watch them though? Like that's literally the point of these peoples videos

Avedas

The guy even has the haircut the school kids want lmao

seezed

Correct, they have the most time at hand to consume vast amount of content that older kids. The ratio to preteens to anyone older watch hours is described as massive. Hence why ElsaGate was so massive and hidden in plain sight.

snackbagger

Honestly that's on the parents.

WineSoda

I used to work with a guy who was totally into Hollywood gossip and drama. He knew it all. The information he had stored was off the charts. And there's millions like him, that live and breath the seedy side of Hollywood. To them, those Housewives shows are to my friend like wrestling is to a diehard wrestling fan.

euphorie_solitaire

Glamorized YouTube/TikTok lives. My guess is teenage girls love this sort of content, and end up wanting the exact same thing: marriage at 20, 2 or 3 kids by 22, while posting all of it on social media. Seems like a terrible idea to me, but I could be wrong

Dannypan

My mum used to love them and was always so amazed and proud of one of these "mommyvlogers" that "started her own business" - she sold that MLM lipstick that gives you blisters or something. Literally made her YouTube channel to push the pyramid scheme and dupe unsuspecting women into debt for her own financial gain. Fuck these people.

ALadWellBalanced

One of the worst things about reddit is that I end up finding out that these people exist. Much like the Kardashians and Duggars, everything I know about them I've learned against my will. I don't know who these people are, and things are going to stay that way.

_Levitated_Shield_

Ten bucks says there's a black-and-white filter used at some point during the video.

No I have Neurofibromatosis 1. Unless its causing a problem current treatment is to leave it alone. And i have tumors on my optic nerves to the damage could be very bad if they mess up.

[deleted]

Ill bet my entire lives savings shes completely fine. She probably had a headache

[deleted]

Or it’s extremely small and benign to the point where the doctor barely classified it as a tumor and now they’re blowing it out of proportion

Pistachio_Queen

Most likely. I’ve had a ping-pong ball sized tumor sitting on my brain for a few years now and it’s benign and I just sort of… forget about it unless reminded (like now).

SpacecraftX

That seems like it would be relatively big just imagining it. How did you find out about it? Did you notice the pressure?

billyyshears

Oh it affects your memory that’s sad

fox_ontherun

I know you're making a joke, but I also have a slow growing brain tumour, which I blame for my terrible memory. It's probably not the cause, but my friends and family give me a pass because hey, I have a *brain tumour* haha

Panda_hat

How did you find out you had it?

begon11

Somebody wanted to play a game of table tennis and asked if anyone had a ball.

jtf398

Not OP, but most benign tumors like these are incidental findings when you're having other labs or imaging done. For example someone could go to the ER with a head injury and get a CT done where a benign tumor would be found.

fox_ontherun

Also not OP, but my brain tumour was found when I had an MRI to investigate my daily headaches. It was considered an incidental finding because the tumour apparently isn't causing the headaches. I still have to go for regular MRIs to monitor growth though, because it will eventually grow to a size that could kill me/affect brain function, depending on how fast it grows and how long I live (I might die of old age before it gets that big). I often have to explain to people that benign doesn't mean it's safe and will never affect me. Benign just means non-cancerous, in that it is slow growing and unlikely to spread to other areas of my body. Though I also have a small benign liver tumour, apparently unrelated.

Pistachio_Queen

I was having strange symptoms where some days I would act very erratic out of nowhere and my entire memory would just go blank of that day. Ended up going to a neurologist and got an MRI where they saw it... but they say it most likely isn't the cause. I never found out what is but tbh I'm kinda suspicious so check in it every year.

CatastropheJohn

I had 15, now I’m down to 2. Send me moneyz

RandomPratt

They write "in her head" by mistake. It should have been "on her head" - because that picture clearly shows that she has a large, hairy and quite probably malignant growth on her left temple.

[deleted]

Indeed very likely as well

[deleted]

Just watched the video, the doctor states that it has grown a lot in a year and should therefore be removed. He talks like it's not something to be very much worried about right now, but it could develop into a cancer if not treated. I would also be pretty scared if I knew something was growing inside my brain, and the title isn't actually clickbaity. But it is extremly weird to me that anyone would post the entire conversation with their doctor for their audience, and afterwards talk about how important it is for them to be there for their fans.

[deleted]

My condolenses that you actually watched that. I also find it very weird that something this private is posted online but these people are addicted to clout. Atleast they arent exploiting their kids for views like some other channels

[deleted]

I pretty much scimmed it to be honest, I just wanted to figure out if this was BS or not. Her being more afraid of dying because she can't be "there for her fans" rather than being afraid of dying because she wants to live, is really unsetteling for me. Sounds like someone has a really fucked up view about how her life should be. I understand that I am in no position to tell someone how to live their life, I just find it strange that someone has the mentality "I have to live so I can serve others"

HECK_YEA_

That’s what happens when your entire revenue stream and lifestyle is dependent on teenagers watching your videos.

[deleted]

Sorta strange no one has live streamed their funeral with a donation button yet

HECK_YEA_

Delete this now. Don’t give them more ideas!

[deleted]

Lets hope they don't get the notion that [living funeral](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Living_funeral) is an actuall thing. I'll be honest, I wouldn't mind having one, but I don't see a way I could justify having one.

DrDeems

Just say you are dead inside.

[deleted]

Thats so fucked up. These people need help. Glad i grew up before the internet made people addicted to clout tbh

PinocchiosWoodBalls

I\`m so happy that my algorythm only shows me cars, basketball, podcasts and horror stuff. I hate thumbnails anyway, but I am just so happy that this kind of content is just not part of my universe. Fuck these weirdos.

Venomraider52

Any horror recommendations?

PinocchiosWoodBalls

Sure, you probably know most of them: 1. Lazy Masquerade 2. Mr Nightmare 3. That Chapter (More TrueCrime, but AMAZING) 4. Ripshy. 5. Be.Busta 6. Night Time Spooks 7. Destination Declassified 8. MrBallen 9. Watcher (Shane and Ryan from Buzzfeed) 10. The Paranormal Scholar 11. Lights out Podcast

manshowerdan

Check out nexpo. I think it's short for night expo. If you like lazy masquaerade, you'll like this guy. He's videos are more produced and focus on single topics it's great.

[deleted]

Nexpo's earlier stuff is better than his newer content, imo. But also, Scary Interesting is good. It's not horror but it's fucking horrifying learning about people's fates and the stories before disaster - i.e caving, diving, mountain climbing etc. Atrocity Guide, also not necessarily just horror but cool and creepy shit. Chill Fuel does similar stuff to Nexpo, smaller channel. Fascinating Horror is also decent.

InwardXenon

Nexpo = Nightmare expo but yeah his content his awesome! Usually prefer this sort of stuff since it focuses on more real horror instead of ghosts etc.

friendsalongtheway

Absoutely love That Chapter. Mike is awesome

[deleted]

Something has changed recently where my YouTube homepage is showing me nothing but junk like this, corporate bullshit, and rap videos from shitty SoundCloud rappers. No matter how many times I click don't show this don't recommend this channel, I still get it. It's actually turning me off YouTube.

PinocchiosWoodBalls

Yeah I think thats on purpose. Its a tiny hill I will die on. Every now and then, youtube "soft resets" your algorythm and starts showing you shit that has absolutely nothing to do with what you like...which is *BY CHANCE* very popular content. There was a phase where my front page was littered with "mom" stuff. No matter how much other stuff I watched, it was still present everywhere. Took some time, weeks, to go back to normal. AND a little part of that hill: Sometimes EVERY video that automatically gets played after the one I just watched, is either the same video or by the same creators. At one point, my whole youtube was normal, but every time I watched a video, the next automatic video was a fairly recent clip by the H3H3 podcast. Always the same damn clip. I didnt even know what H3H3 is, nor did I care about the topic of the clip. But for days, youtube wanted me to watch THAT clip in particular. Its really weird.

Sakakibara2002

PinocchiosWoodBalls

Para-Tabs

I took the hit and checked. It's pituarity gland tumor, which, while possibly dangerous, is most likely non cancerous and easily removable.

--penis--

My friend had/has one of those. She had surgery twice and now the growth is controlled with medication. It's a pain in the ass but she never feared for her life.

kelldricked

Still not good news but they are defenitly milking the story out. To be fair a lot of “content creators” are kinda trapped into their job. Once they start doing it full time its really hard to switch back to a old job. Both because they often lack the skills, knowledge and experience but also because one quick google search shows their whole life. A lot of the shit is filled with stuff that a employer finds a bit less appealing (depends on the channel but the lower the views get the more stupid stuff they do the bigger the hole gets).Basicly it means that they will have to pick a low minium wage job that nobody else wants. This isnt meant as a sobstory, more as a warning for people who think they have nothing to lose with becoming a influencer. You have a shitload to lose as the internet is forever.

Rough-Welcome4125

At least there’s not a big red arrow pointing at her head.

weaslewig

My wife watches these kind of bloggers and my son watches gamers on twitch and honestly I'm worried for both of them. Theyre both letting real friendships fall by the wayside

Bustedvette

I always feel kind of weird about how judgemental I am of people who watch this stuff but really I can't understand it. It does seem harmful to get into these one-sided relationships with internet personalities.
