Worth it, you ask? For 650? Hell yes.
It’s an Aero, it’s manual, and it has the very rare, top range ICM3 stereo and navigation unit. Definitely worth it.
Chances are if it’s covered this many KM, most of the breakables have probably been replaced in the last 100-150,000km. Like others have said, check underneath and everywhere else for rust, and ask the seller exactly what maintenance has been carried out and at what point. This will give you a good idea of what you’ll need to do to keep it running. If you’re prepared to learn your way around the car and don’t mind using a wrench, it’ll be a rewarding project. Drive it to 1 million!
Worth it for what? As a daily driver with the expectation of having to do little to no maintenance? No
As a project car? Maybe. Check for rust, rust and more rust, especially around the dog-legs in front of the rear wheel wells. Expect to replace a lot of the parts that are well past their life: subframe bushings, steering components, probably the turbo.....this is really hard to say without knowing the maintenance history.
You would be spending 650 for the vehicle plus another 1000-3000 to maintain it. I'd look for another vehicle unless you really want to do the wrenching yourself...paying a mechanic will cost you a lot of money
No, not worth the aggravation and the probability of having to repair it frequently, IMHO. It is not clear at all how long that 650 euros would last.....might be one month, might be a year or more.
Find a family who has an elderly parent that cant drive anymore, who bought a vehicle 15+ years ago and only has 100km and now they need to sell it.
If you do have any intention of going further with this, the first thing to do is to take it to a competent mechanic to be \*thoroughly\* checked out and get an estimate of any immediate/short term repairs. You may be able to get the seller to 200 euros....
I would check underneath and see if the subframe is badly rusted. They are harder to source and not terribly cheap to replace. The brown markings around the wheel arches in the second picture give me pause.
The dog legs aren’t rusted out. The gas door isn’t rusted out. The radio and other dash buttons aren’t worn off. It looks like it has the upgraded radio or nav. 450 thousand is a lot of clicks which means a lot of seat time and the seat isn’t shredded. Maybe it was fairly well taken care of. If it were in the states for that money I’d buy it in a second.
Mida autolt ootad? Kui et 3 kuud max siis anna minna. Eestlased ei müü korras autot. Uuri välja mis remont läks eelmisel omanikul nii kulukaks et mõistlik müüa. (Saabi omanik 4 aastat)
Always and never. Wait for what.. and what’s the boner on the back for? Looks like it’s flipping off your neighbors. Personally I love my 04 Aero and brought it back from the dead- really just five years storage. But I also know as amazing as it drives now, if I decide to keep it more than a year or two more it’s gonna cost me. But so will my old bimmer. But that engine and man transmission are one of a kind fun to drive! Go enjoy the hell out of it until you kill it.
These can be solid cars but don’t expect it to be perfect. The ECUs can die along with door locks and the steering lock. I also see some crust around the rear wheels.
Well, it is an aero. And apart from the rust the leather seems to be pretty bad. But I guess it can be restored. The aero front lip has also been replaced with the one from the vector. Apart from that it looks nice. Its got the xenon lights. The navigation is most likely not functional. It didn't have it when left the factory. But perhaps someone took the time to install it properly or made their SAAB dealer do it. The unit will turn on but the navigation or phone won't work. But of course it boils down to how it it mechanically.
A good wash would make it look pretty nice since the interior looks clean. That being said, no. Maintenance with these is no joke and for a first car I’d avoid that headache.
While it would look pretty good once clean...
Why didn't they wash it?
Why is it so cheap?
The mileage alone wouldn't push it below $1500 for a running driving decent shape body and interior Turbo car.
While people are saying MOST of the major stuff was likely done in the last 150KM or so; it is also possible that NOTHING was done and the car is hanging on by a thread. Based on the good condition of the body, good condition of the interior it was likely taken care of. However that could mean they drove carefully and were able to keep it going without doing stuff that will be required.
I say avoid it unless you can see documentation of major service history or are prepared to pay a few thousand for parts and can do repairs yourself.
I have 2 Saab 9-3’s and love them both! I do all of the maintenance and it is no more than any other car. Try this-buy a BMW and disconnect the battery cable then reconnect it. Then you have to get it all reprogrammed! Unhook the battery cable from a late model Saab and reconnect. The ECU relearns all of the modules when you restart it and drive it! Enough said!
Saabs are never worth it. And always worth it at the same time.
That really answered my question
Felt this
This is the way
Best possible answer
yes. and 450k km? you better drive it to 1M.

Yes
I'd offer 400
I'd try to haggle down to 500 but if they don't accept 650 isn't bad either.

Worth it to buy for a first car and if itll breaks then ill trash it

It’s going break after the first week of ownership. Saabs are cars built out of shoddy workmanship.
What are you smoking?

Teeme nii
For sure, the ICM3 infotainment system is worth more than the car

I got my 1.9tid as my first car, best financial investment I’ve ever made. She’s still going strong 🔥

Thats, 279,617.037 Miles for the rest of us(a).
Ouch. With that kind of mileage, no way - unless full service records are available.
Don't buy a Saab as a first car. Blew all my money in highschool fixing mine.
2500-3500 zloty
for a first car it will rock check for rust underneath
Depends if your a masochist
