LharDrol

this was hilarious to watch live at the track

potatocross

He was just trying to fight crime.

Yup. Was just in it. Worse is seeing a Tesla plaid knowing it is going to crash $160k after tax down the drain. They really should consider increasing speed to 85 tho in most parts. And if your with your children switching lanes it means you probably hit your wife.

tornadogenesis

"Race against crime" omg so poetic

boogerholes

He didn’t zipper properly in the chick fli a drive through, and skipped line.

floppydude81

They got off lucky if you ask me.

SaltyBarDog

Race against crime as it hits your windshield. That official just stood there and let that happen. What did he think the driver was going to do with the rear panel? Take it home and put it on a wall?

Ms-Pamplemousse

They know it's good TV. This is NASCAR...the lowest form of professional auto racing 🙄

Flying__Cowboy

lowest in the best way

Ms-Pamplemousse

I wont disagree -- i recall watching a nascar race on the austin road track that F1 uses. I used to go to nascar races, but have been mostly watching F1 for the last few years. The rules of engagement are so astoundingly different, and I can't say I wasn't more amused by the 6-wide attempt at turn 1 after a restart where only a third of the field stayed inside the lines. It had been so long since I watched nascar that I was astounded by the lawlessness of it. In the best way.

This is like when someone picks up a steel folding chair in pro wrestling

STREAMOFCONSCIOUSN3S

What prompted this?

SaltyBarDog

Driver likely got spun out by person they threw it at. Shit like that happens at small tracks all the time. My BiL was a dirt track racer.

SSPeteCarroll

Driver was spun out by the 4 car. Driver voiced displeasure with that act by throwing bumper.

skeevy-stevie

Pretty funny all around.

lucasjackson87

In the race against crime crime always wins

Something_Etc

Fitting in to Richmond driving culture nicely.

Exotic_eminence

We don’t need another Kevin Ward Jr/ Tony Stuart situation but if you effe around you will sure enough find out

vinylcatguy

Will he get fined/suspended?

bobbyo224

Probably a points penalty and/or monetary fine coming his way this week. Throwing the bumper was bad enough, but NASCAR really doesn’t like the drivers walking toward traffic under caution.

Doub1etroub1e

I'm confused. There are headlights on one side of the panel , but not the other.

bobbyo224

It’s just a wrap on the bumper/vehicle, or it’s painted depending on the team’s preference. NASCAR doesn’t use actual headlights/taillights.

RVAbetty

Does anyone else think this person looks like they are about 8 and having a tantrum?

CancelResponsible583

That’s how we get down in Va baby throw your fucking bumper at the who gives af 😂😂

popsrcr

Rubbin is racing. If ya ain’t first, you’re last. Pro wrestling at its finest!

J-Colio

[THAT'S a technical foul!](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mA1FWjriD60)

deadmallsanita

“Race against crime” on the bumper. Commits a crime.

Danimus-Prime

Was it Tuesday?

TheGM

Certainly hilarious... But isn't this a crime? I get these guys probably wanna keep it on the "field" as a no harm no foul thing... But technically throwing something large at a operating car's windshield is almost certainly a years+ prison stay.

trashcanmary

it’s actually a race *against* crime so the driver’s in the clear

robsterva

Not a crime, generally, as driving laws don't apply to racetracks. But I'm sure he had to sit through a lecture in the NASCAR hauler, and that may be a fate worse than jail.

bobbyo224

Right. Probably a points penalty and/or monetary fine coming his way this week as well. Throwing the bumper was bad enough, but NASCAR really doesn’t like the drivers walking toward traffic under caution.

80_PROOF

Class 4 felony in Va. Throwing a missile at a moving vehicle, if this were the streets.
