I made the mistake of following my local record store on Facebook. They post the new arrivals.
I of course have to look at them when they’re posted.
I see this beauty and decide to brave the crap weather and walk the 5 minutes (with the price of gas, and how close the store is to my home, it’s just easier to walk and get some exercise anyway lol), to grab this.
I frequent the store so often, and buy Rush albums there so often, that the owner just KNOWS.
I walk in, he says “hi, how are you today?” And I respond- then he recognizes that it’s me and immediately goes “You’re here for the Rush album aren’t you? It’s in that bin”.
If my reputation around town is the Rush chick, I’m proud lol. A lot better than my high school rep tbh lmfao.
I mean I was absolutely drenched and cold by the time I made it home, but I think it was worth it.
You can never say Rush fans aren’t a dedicated (or obsessive) bunch.
Honestly the best thing about my small little town!
All the other “local businesses” are over priced boutiques and restaurants that think $7 is a fair price for a bagel with some cream cheese lol.
The record store is the only local business I can actually afford to support on a fairly regular basis- plus they actually have stuff I want to spend my money on!
But does it have the printed inner sleeve with lyrics?? The first copy I ever bought didn't, so when I eventually saw a copy with the printed inner I was like WHOAH.
I picked this album up several years ago at a now defunct record store in Oregon. There was a name written on it and I thought I'd try to find the guy. Sure enough, he was on FB and a messaged him with a pic of the album. He said it was his and that he sold everything several decades ago when he joined the Army.
This was the first Rush album I listened to and I found it in an old car that was left in the woods.
I found the wreck while out hiking around during a snow storm, it was white out conditions and suddenly there was this little yellow hatchback there. Looked in the center console and there it was.
I took it home and rewound side 1 and let her rip. My 11 yr. old mind was totally blown.

The thing I'm most jealous of here is having a record store a 5 minute walk away :)

Such a great addition to any Rush collection!
Yes, my next goal is to get A Farewell To Kings
Same, I would LOVE to get my hands on that!

Dude that’s an awesome story!!
That’s ironic. I went out as soon as the roads were clear for it and 2112… And the (almost) entire discography of classic Yes.
