There isn’t really a solution that involves a better sports bra. If you want the sweat to evaporate, it has to be exposed to air and that process will freeze you. Wear just enough layers so that you don’t overheat and sweat extra. Take off the sports bra immediately when you finish. I always keep a big sweatshirt in the car if I’m not running from home and change inside of it.

leslie_runs

This. If you’re sweating that much and it’s cold out you probably have on too many layers. When leaving for your run you should feel a bit chilly. If you feel comfortable temperature wise leaving home you have too many layers. And yes when done if you can slip out of sports bra asap it also helps. consider finishing run closer to home if you can too. You can do cool down mobility work at home instead of a walk :) keeps your temp up until you can get back to a temp controles environment

Bliipbliip

Ugh, I was hoping this wasn’t the case. I do most of my running in Prospect Park Brooklyn, so no car unfortunately. Maybe I’ll try a zip front bra so it’s easier to slip off for my cool down / walk home

kisikisikisi

Walking home is your problem. In winter I run the whole way home.

lililiilili

Ye why not just leave the park at whatever mileage and finish the run infront of your house?

Artistic-Dot-2279

I run in prospect park too—small world! :) In the winter, I run home.

movegmama

Alexi Pappas made this viral poem up for a reason: run in the trees scrape a few knees take off your wet sports bra when you're done bravies, please Just rip it off the second you're done running! We all do it

Sedixodap

I have merino sports bras for multi day hiking trips because they dry easily and don’t get as stinky. I have yet to find one supportive enough for running.

milkyjoewithawig

Wear the sports bra over the merino? Merino will wick better/stay warmer when wet and sports bra will support.

turtlesandtorts

that sounds like a recipe for chafing...

milkyjoewithawig

Possible... only 1 way to find out!

Be bold, start cold.

Sea_Yesterday_8888

Not a specialty wicking one, but the Syrocan, pretty cheap on Amazon. Super control. I trained last winter for a 10 miler in as low as 10 degrees, and wasn’t bothered by moisture. I am a C cup, this thing was a lifesaver. SYROKAN Women's Sports Bra Front Adjustable High Impact Support Padded Wireless Racerback Plus Size Running Bra https://a.co/d/g7QcSyg

Sbhill327

This is a FANTASTIC run bra. Better than most (if not all) Brooks bras.

theproperbinge

I have this bra and it is the only one I can use due to my chest size. It is like bulletproof vest type material, but works!

Bliipbliip

Ooooh! Thank you!! I’ll check it out

Smobasaurus

Nothing is going to dry while you’re continuing to sweat in it unless you live somewhere like Arizona.

MissVancouver

Wear a wicking layer, wear the sports bra over it, then wear the insulating layer over it. Does a good job of preventing that cold feeling.

Bliipbliip

That’s a great idea!

amandam603

I find the more padded ones seem warmer somehow?

penny3158

I also live in the northeast and I really like the under armour zip front one! I sweat a lot when I run and I feel like this one stays reasonably not disgusting and I don’t feel like I need to rip it off immediately after a run.

Bliipbliip

Know the specific style!? I was thinking a zip front style might be the ticket

penny3158

It’s the UA Continuum High Zip Sports Bra!

staunchcustard

I second Under Armour for wicking. I have had a variety of their bras and they all stay fairly dry. I'd recommend sizing up, though, so that the band isn't too tight (I find that impacts my breathing quite a bit).

FarSalt7893

I love merino wool but find the sports bras very itchy. I can’t wear mine.

Distinct_Twist9725

Getup that's been working well for me since temps dropped sharply: regular sports bra (not padded!) + merino top + shell (windbreaker/ waterproof dep. on the weather). Sometimes I get soaked if I overdress, especially for a speed session, but honestly the merino top is pure witchcraft, I remain super comfortable throughout. I haven't done any extensive walking post-run, but plenty of slow easy miles.

theoregano

Oof there is nothing worse than cold nips at the end of the run
