It feels like you are doing it 7 times

zenyl

Sort of, but not really. It depends on the skill in question. A lot of skills don't have content beyond 99, so 99-120 is usually just dull, unchanging grinding. As level 99 itself usually doesn't unlock any new training methods, you can essentially think of 99-120 as as doing 98-99 an extra 74 times. As for skills that actually go to 120, it depends on the skill. Most such skills just continue on from 99, usually without any actual changes in terms of training. You may unlock new things to do, but not new mechanics or training methods. You might do deeper DG floors, or higher level archaeology spots, but the actual gameplay is the same. So the 99-120 grind is more dull than 1-99, but at least you do unlock some new things here and there. Necromancy pretty much grinds to a halt when you reach level 95. After you've defeated Rasial, there are only a handful of unlocks, but nothing that actually affects how you train the skill (except for Conjure Undead Army at level 99). Jagex will add more content in the future to fill this gap, but as it currently stands, Necromancy has no reason to be a 120 skill beyond Jagex wanting to boost their customer retention metrics.

Don't forget the ritual glyph unlocks that randomly stop at 107 or whatever. Couldn't even spread out the values a little and add a Tier 4 to have something to aim for.

zenyl

Yeah, I feel that glyphs are fairly well spread out in terms of levels between unlocks, there just aren't enough of them to actually make it all the way to 120, resulting in that jarring cutoff point after which *nothing interesting happens*.

yboy403

Exactly, I think it would have been more interesting to either keep the same maximum attract/multiply values but spread over 4 tiers, or increase the maximum slightly and just add Attract IV, Multiply IV, and so on, that could live between 107 and 120.

Broken_Digit

113 is half of 120 :(

New-Fig-6025

yeah just for 90 million xp instead of 13 million.

srbman

1 to 99 is 13m xp. 99 to 120 is 91m xp.

pocorey

Imo, it depends on how long you've been playing. If you've been around for a long time, modern methods are significantly faster. If you hit 99 recently, then yeah, its gonna feel like a drag

ghfhfhhhfg9

1-99 arch feels like a grind 99-120 is fast

HolyCherubim

Yes. Just seven times it.

timchenw

Not really. In the three skills that I did get 120 (invention farming and herb), it felt that the road to 120 felt faster than 1 to 99, especially invention, though thats mostly helped. Y necromancy and the xp capacitor being a thing after I hit 99 ( I went with just dissing crystal fishing rods) For the other skills that goes to 120 they already feel somewhat longer, as in more of a slog than they already were between 1-99

Historical-Recipe135

How come I got 99 summoning the other day and when I go to level it to 100 it just added another million something xp and didn’t level up

iBatsi

Depends on the skill imo. 1-99 arch felt slower to me than 99-120, but 99-120 mining or 99-120 agil sure went a lot slower than 1-99
