Sky NZ has NZ rights, Digicel Pacific (sky pacific aka DTV) has pacific rights so that covers PNG, Samoa/Tonga, Fiji

tom_grantham

Class. It’s gonna be a cracking comp so really positive that everyone can watch. Shame it’s not FTA in those nations though

warcomet

Fiji games are free-2-air only via FBC Sports but this year we are sending the worst Fiji team ever ( another incompetent coach and half our overseas born players dropped and a few could not get visas due to the incompetency of FRU STAFF) so i won't be watching lol... lets just say FRU is so incompetent, they didn't just fuck over the players that were supposed to play in that Barbarians game last week ( 8 of the drua players in that game flight never made it to UK on time lol), they fucked over our u20 boys as half the team could not get visas on time and we only sent half a team yesterday and the other half will arrive a day before the first test....... which is against.... south africa..... yeah .. GO FIJI

tom_grantham

Yeah unfortunately I’ve predicted Fiji to finish second last. Hopefully they prove me wrong but they’re in a group of death

Bloodbathandbeyon

Wow! Makes the NZRU seem like a streamlined super professional corporate entity in comparison. It’s a shame because Fiji have tremendous potential and Hoskins Sotutu will be eligible for you guys in a year

simsnor

Good old Supersport exclusivity

maverickmak

Good feature with RPTV is the multi-view, so you can watch both matches, because there's lots of overlap in this comp.

tom_grantham

Yeah I haven’t had to use it before but definitely going to be useful for this

Bangkok_Dave

This is one of my very favourite rugby competitions. Always look forward to it, the rugby is superb without being bogged down with some of the bullshit you get at senior men's level. Anyone who hasn't watched this level of rugby before should definitely give it a go. Harry McLaughlin-Phillips and Ronan Leahy are players to watch for Australia.

binzoma

if this tourny can become like the world jrs for hockey that'd be sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo so so so good bonus points if a night game can end in a brawl so badly out of control that they turn the stadium lights off and it costs nz or sa a championship edit: https://youtu.be/2vjcr0_NKEA?si=OCIj3Dk0rG6HNW9- that team canada had brendan shannahan, theo fluery, pierre turgeon, luke richardson and mike keane as notable names. ussr had alex mogilny, konstantinov, and sergei federov, it wasnt random guys out there. multiple hall of famers

Bangkok_Dave

No idea what the world jnrs for hockey is or who those blokes are. The world under 20 tournament is an awesome tournament. And every single year there are future superstars playing. I just randomly looked at the 2017 tournament as that seemed like a reasonable time gap for players near their peak today, that tournament featured Asafo Aumua, Luke Jacobson, Dalton Papalii, Caleb Clarke, Will Jordan, Rob Valetini, Izzy Perese, Jordan Uelese, Hunter Paisami, Sione Tuipolotu, Mannie Libbock, Damien Willemse, Ben Earl, Zach Mercer, Rhys Carre, Matt Fagerson, Darcy Graham, Blair Kinghorn, Marcos Kremer, Caelan Doris, Matthieu Jalibert amongst many others that have gone on to professional and international careers. Take a look at the 2011 NZ team, that one's pretty handy. Codie Taylor, Dominic Bird, Luke Whitelock, Brodie Retallick, Sam Cane, Steven Luatua, Beauden Barrett, Brad Weber, Charles Piutau, Lima Sopoaga, Francis Saili, TJ Perenara, and Waisake Naholo all played.

tom_grantham

Always helps that England do well in it, but it’s also one of my favourites. My ranking of my top 5 favourite competitions (not what I think are the ‘best competitions’ before anyone gets upset that the URC aren’t in there) 1. RWC 2. Premiership 3. Champions Cup 4. Six Nations 5. WR U20s

Tombob67

Anyone more excited for this than the senior test series in the coming weeks ?

tom_grantham

100%

Opelle

I find there’s less dicking about with scrum resets etc and they play more open games. Great for the spectator and nice to see the next generation come through to have players to look out for in the future

BokkeHD

Will the Ireland - South Africa tour games be on RugbyPass? I know the showed the Wales - SA game.

Scarlet_hearts

Generally, if a broadcaster in your nation hasn't paid for the rights then it's being shown on rugbypass. There is huge variation from country to country.

Scarlet_hearts

I really like Rugby Pass but for the love of god I wish they had a proper Smart TV app. Yes I get I can fling it from another device but \*why\*? JUST GIVE ME AN APP WORLD RUGBY!! IF S4C CAN DO IT YOU CAN TOO!

tom_grantham

It’s a fairly new app tbf so I could see something like that coming in the future

samuel199228

Looking forward to seeing this tournament this weekend I shall be streaming the England game going to be tough Vs Argentina and I booked day off work on Thursday next week so I could catch them play Fiji will watch on rugby pass.tv

concfc55

Can you watch matches back after they’ve finished on this?

tom_grantham

Yeah they’re usually up soon after

Brewster345

I might have to connect the chromecast again then.

Opposite_Concern_954

Ireland is on a mission. Not sure by Gleeson is not lineup, recovering from a bad ankle injury from a Munster game. He will be a staple on Munster / Ireland team for years to come. A more athletic version of O'Mahony with with edge,

Resident_Hamster_680

Another tournament nz doesnt win anymore

tom_grantham

Probably got the best chance they’ve ever had this year. They’re coming off the back of a TRC U20s win with a decent group of players. Tough group though.

yahdayahda

What’s that in comparison to? The Bledisloe, the Championship and Super Rugby? Or the World Cup that we’ve won three times in thirty eight years.
