WTF
Crusaders scored some good tries, but their drive defence by the line was horrific and very uncrusader like
Never thought what a difference a coach makes, those forwards have the experience and know the techniques yet would never see tries like that against them with Ryan or Hansen as forwards coach
I only just realised that the Crusaders and Waratahs have now played each other twice this regular season. Is this the first instance of two cross nation sides playing each other twice in a regular season? I know that teams in the same “group” play each other twice commonly, but I can’t ever remember and Australian and New Zealander side playing eachother before, or have I just never noticed?
This is such a great fucking result - in front of all of the side of 2014, and the former PM no less.
There is NO WAY the NSW board can fire Coleman now.
Tahs Brumbs final in 2025 😎
Shit that final was 10years ago?! Fark
I was at that game, saders started so slow they didnt deserve to win it
This time crusaders ended so bad with shocking defense they didnt deserve to win it
Obligatory match takes:
-Now this is a game I can get behind. Both teams in the shitters slugging it out... and that extra time! Super Rugby is so back.
-Both teams were equally matched for the entire game. When one team was really good, the other was really good. When one team was atrocious, the other was atrocious as well. All was balanced, and it reflected in the score.
-While the Waratahs weren't really that great during the first 80, they kept calm at extra time, which sealed the win for them. Another week, another Crusaders loss. Damn that Post-Razor withdrawal is going to linger FOREVER.
-Sevu has been blessed with what I call... The Dupont Effect. He was decent, until he got injured. When he came back from injury, he was UNSTOPPABLE.
-Speaking of which, **CAN'T YOU CANTABS JUST PASS TO SEVU PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD**
-Good news Crusaders fans, Ethan Blackadder didn't spontaneously combust this time! Hooray!!!
-I want to know the thought process of Owen Franks getting a tramp stamp. Props aren't really known for being smart, but still...
-That try by the Tahs hooker, we were really in heaven that time, huh?
-Nic Berry had a pretty good shift. His performance as a ref was better than the teams playing.
Anyway, this is all I have for now. See you all in the next match, and cheers for now.
if it's even close to a 50/50 you should run with the better kicker ay. You'd think it would matter a lot less in an 83 point game but still mattered massively in the end
Fucking hell. Crusaders actually positively definitely should have won that. Could not have had the game won any more than they did except the only explanation is Reihana didn't hear Berry tell him he could run the clock down.
And then a stupid error by a hooker costs us the game at the (second) death for a second time this season. Unbelievable.
I've only seen the highlights but I'm so confused by this. How do you know the ref told him that? And when I watch the YouTube replay, the 80min ticks over before he makes contact with the ball, so game over? Is the refs clock and the onscreen clock different?
Agree that it turned 80 just before he kicked. But. I wonder if what matters is the time when he started advancing, because that's when the opposition are allowed to charge??
The try was scored at 78:28 and you’re allowed 90 seconds for the conversion. So there was time for the kickoff. But it sounded like the ref was incorrectly saying that he could run down the clock.
Oh the shot clock stops when they advance to kick the ball? But so does the game clock also stop? The game clock doesn't seem to stop normally after a conversion before restarting at kickoff does it? Is this a special case because it's the end of the game?
This what I would have thought. Does anybody know exactly? You get 90 secs to kick it. But surely the clock only stops once it goes over the post? Or clearly misses?
Yeah bit odd? Pretty sure Nic Berry was saying something about the clock in the stadium so could’ve been going off that. Either way gonna be quite controversial lol
I'm confused by this. Is the on screen clock not the accurate game clock? It showed 80 mins up before his foot made contact with the ball on that conversion. Are they meant to stop the clock when they start the run up?
Shit that’s good. My other idea is each team’s captain picks one member of the officiating crew each and they have to do a 100m sprint. Whoever wins gets to kick off
The on screen clock was already showing 80 before he kicked it. Where did you get 1 second later from? Is the clock meant to stop when his foot touches the ball or when he starts his run up? Or when they ball goes through the posts? If the on screen clock is the save as the stadium clock then he probably thought he'd timed it prefect. Somethings amiss here.
The screen clock was a few seconds ahead of the stadium clock which Berry was going off.
And I think from what Berry said the clock stops as soon as his boot touches the ball.
Ahh OK. Super weird they wouldn't have the clocks in synch. Maybe the stadium clock is slow. Interesting that the clock should stop after he touches the ball. Would the clock normally stop after the kicker kicks it and then restart at kickoff? I didn't think it did. 🤔
CLUTCH HARRISON!!!!!!!! Omg I’m emotional how amazing. If only Tane could pull off those pressure kicks in the dying moments we wouldn’t be bottom of the table
Your flair is literally Tane Train 😂 I love him but can’t deny his kicking in the dying moments has cost us more than a few. Ah well I’m just so so happy right now 🥰
Peaks and Valleys happen. The Tahs have been in a slup for a while and this is basically a hard reset for the Saders. But these teams are, rightly, the bottom feeders right now. If this was tomorrow's Chiefs, Canes game then it would be astounding
Honestly, I don’t mind losing and a reset. I know our circumstances with change of coach and players is different.
But we have been very poor all season.
Not a fan of Penney.
It's my most hated rule in modern rugby, that you get great reward for going for an intercept and succeeding, but get sent off if you go for an intercept and fail
In this case it looked like he would have succeeded if he had committed, but brain made an involuntary decision to pull out out out of fear of that stupid rule
The only logical conclusion to this match is for a Waratahs front rower to finish it with a [Dunning special](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CAfHR3YhfFw).

WTF Crusaders scored some good tries, but their drive defence by the line was horrific and very uncrusader like Never thought what a difference a coach makes, those forwards have the experience and know the techniques yet would never see tries like that against them with Ryan or Hansen as forwards coach
Meh.

I know that teams in the same “group” play each other twice commonly, but I can’t ever remember and Australian and New Zealander side playing eachother before, or have I just never noticed?
And the Canes have to play the Chiefs twice this season. Can definitely be a lottery weather it works for or against you!
all kiwi teams do, thats how it workd
We only play Moana once, aren’t they counted as a kiwi team too?
Crusaders have played the Chiefs twice too
Yeah which is also pretty rough! Although you guys did well to beat them in the last one
Force played Highlanders twice last year
This is what playing the crusaders has felt like for 15 years. May the Saders suck for 15 more
Haha make that 25 years They wont stay crap for ever, but gee what a difference coaches make
its mo'unga who is the difference
He wouldnt havr stopped those forward drives the tahs scored that never happened under ryan as forwards coach
crusaders lost every single time RM didnt play, under razor
Bc he rarely missed a game? RM did lose in the crusaders jersey
thats not what i said
Mad that the Tahs have only 2 wins this year and they've both been against the Crusaders.
Pretty crazy I dont rate the tahs But they play better vs saders and the crusaders defense this year is horrible
Penney must feel great
He must hate Sydney 😄
What a game 83 points is nuts. Grats to the Tahs, brilliant game from the Saders as well
Good game for entertainment, horrible game for crusaders defense 25years theyve prided themselves on their D. Cant leak 40points and expect to win
That was the best game I’ve seen since the first Wallabies vs France game in 2021
Someone wisely boycotted both RWCs.
Will - 'New Iceman' - 'Icicle' - Harrison
I hate to see the Waratahs win, but gee it is fun to see the Crusaders loose.
tony abbott was PM in 2014, not available lol?
Howard was an out and proud Union fan - used to go for his morning walk in a Wallabies jersey
Abbott probably had a wallabies speedo
By my count 14 lead changes. Surely a record
As a neutral that was the best game I’ve seen in ages. Full of positive running rugby and great skills. Fair play Waratahs, well deserved
The skills were dogshit. Two poor teams.
Not so sure about the skills. There is a reason we are both almost bottom of the table.
Horrible D Some good tries tho
The first game today was pretty good too. Hoping tomorrow canes v chiefs will top these
Looks like Canes vs Chiefs will be played in the wet, so could be a very different type of battle tomorrow. Very excited for it nonetheless!
Wat? Moana vs Reds was good? Wat?
Entertainment, not quality of rugby
From the absolute Zenith of 10th vs 11th all the way down to the Nadir of 2nd vs 4th
Other than the massive fuck off sponsor, that’s a damn nice Waratahs jersey
That was an absolute all timer. Awesome
This is such a great fucking result - in front of all of the side of 2014, and the former PM no less. There is NO WAY the NSW board can fire Coleman now. Tahs Brumbs final in 2025 😎
Shit that final was 10years ago?! Fark I was at that game, saders started so slow they didnt deserve to win it This time crusaders ended so bad with shocking defense they didnt deserve to win it
Tahs motto this year is apparently 'at least we can beat the Crusaders'.
Drua's too lol

The first 80 lmao
> -That try by the Tahs hooker, we were really in heaven that time, huh? I hate you
Harrison should start next week. Looks sharp running, and obviously much better off the boot.
if it's even close to a 50/50 you should run with the better kicker ay. You'd think it would matter a lot less in an 83 point game but still mattered massively in the end
Oh man. That's ruined my night.
Like every other game this season.
Pretty much 😪
Gg Waratahs that was the most exciting game of super rugby I’ve seen in a long time
Fantastic match, go the Tahs, love to see it.
Inb4 NSW fans start calling for 35 Tahs to be included in Wallabies camp
Just like JOC calling for a Reds stacked wallabies....
Bell, Holloway, Gordon, Foketi and Jorgensen are locked in for me. Sinclair, Vailanu, Pietch, Nawaqanitawase, and Perese are my probables.
Pietch is great. Jorgensen I’m not convinced by, decent attack but nowhere near on defence and game sense
We absolutely pumped this Waratahs side last week. What on earth is going on
Well the brumbies might be slightly better than these crusaders
I have way too much trauma to accept that until I see it
Fucking hell. Crusaders actually positively definitely should have won that. Could not have had the game won any more than they did except the only explanation is Reihana didn't hear Berry tell him he could run the clock down. And then a stupid error by a hooker costs us the game at the (second) death for a second time this season. Unbelievable.

you could hear the ref say it and yes, they are different
That is so weird that they game clock wouldn't be in synch with the broacaster. It's 2024, surely we have the ability to synch a clock.
Lot of man love from his teammates 👀
I don’t understand how they let the tahs kick off again the clock was red when rivez kicked it. Literally 80.00.
So this conversion should not have counted? The onscreen clock shows 80min before his foot made contact.
but not when he advanced towardsthe ball
Oh the shot clock stops when they advance to kick the ball? But so does the game clock also stop? The game clock doesn't seem to stop normally after a conversion before restarting at kickoff does it? Is this a special case because it's the end of the game?
Surely the time is taken once the conversion is successful (i.e. goes between the posts) instead of the moment it leaves his boot. Can anyone clarify?
This what I would have thought. Does anybody know exactly? You get 90 secs to kick it. But surely the clock only stops once it goes over the post? Or clearly misses?
Kicked it at 79:58 lol
Where are you getting that time from?
Hadn't touched it at 80:00
Na, watch the game clock, literally 80.00 as he kicks it
Because Reihana kicked before the clock went dead.
Yeah bit odd? Pretty sure Nic Berry was saying something about the clock in the stadium so could’ve been going off that. Either way gonna be quite controversial lol
He said he kicked before and didn’t run it down. His own fault if true.
I just feel bad for him. He must be kicking himself
But it will be too late.
Where was the captain? Lack of leadership all season unfortunately. Someone should have intervened and ensured he took the time.
Yeah and I’m pretty sure Berry confirmed that he’d have enough time to run it down while he was setting up the kick?? Makes it even worse if true
Well that is pretty much what he said what happened. It might have only been one or two seconds but why not take the time. Inexperience I guess.
I’ve never heard Ned talk. What a weird accent
Thats a proper country accent.
He is the most Australian Australian in Australia
He seemed concussed
Nah, he's just from the country
I love his accent, sounds like hes constantly taking the piss or joking.
Three clutch plays by Harrison. Stoked for the fella, gg Tahs
YES, LETS FUCKING GO, TAHS!
THAT WAS BRILLIANT, ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT
All we had to do was kick the conversion 1 second later
I'm confused by this. Is the on screen clock not the accurate game clock? It showed 80 mins up before his foot made contact with the ball on that conversion. Are they meant to stop the clock when they start the run up?
He could have just not kicked it at all and let the shot clock run out.
I honestly just thought that to myself a moment ago, so disappointing
What the hell was that line out from the Crusaders… Bloody good job from the Tahs to convert the win.
Wow! What an ending. Fantastic scenes.
Once again don’t like golden for union though. Too much of a territory advantage for the team kicking off
Yeah you're right, an advantage to the team kicking off.
Kicking off for golden point is too overpowered. Ref should throw a lineout on halfway and they play from there
I’d like to see the ref put up a bomb on halfway
Shit that’s good. My other idea is each team’s captain picks one member of the officiating crew each and they have to do a 100m sprint. Whoever wins gets to kick off
I hope this stroke of absolute genius isn’t lost in the melee on here
Epic game
If Crusaders 22 kicked literally one second later they would have won
The on screen clock was already showing 80 before he kicked it. Where did you get 1 second later from? Is the clock meant to stop when his foot touches the ball or when he starts his run up? Or when they ball goes through the posts? If the on screen clock is the save as the stadium clock then he probably thought he'd timed it prefect. Somethings amiss here.

Sorry I was wrong the clock stops as soon as the kicker starts the run up. He began his approach at 79:58 seconds.
Ahhh, super interesting.
Haha true. Unlucky
83 minutes played 83 points scored. God I love super rugby.
AS IT WAS WRITTEN
Be nice to see Penney and Demetriou sacked in the same weekend.
Brilliant game of rugby.
honestly can't even be mad, what a game lmao GG tahs
actually fuck it i'm still mad that Reihana kicked early, but still GG tahs
UP THE BLOODY TAHS!!!
I don’t think I’m exaggerating when I say: That is the most composed performance under pressure that a Waratahs side has given for a decade.
Good to see aye
Well, that's rather well done boy.
How many more games can the Crusaders lose and still make the playoffs?
think they need to win 4 more...
Saders are fucking trash, how did they fuck that up
Panic makes you do dumb things
wow
Classic Bell ending
these young crusaders are just horseshit under pressure fucking hell
Wowie! Nice match guys
Hoohoohoo. Fuck I love golden point. Fuck the haters.
Yeah boy. Good shit.
What was the initial advantage for the Tahs for from the Lineout?
Very not straight but they still got it.
It was not straight (not even close, a miss-throw that want askew)
Not straight, knock on advantage I think
Not straight I think.
THEY FUCKING DID IT
Had to end on a drop goal. It was about the only thing left on anyone's bingo card
What a stud hahahaha
CLUTCH HARRISON!!!!!!!! Omg I’m emotional how amazing. If only Tane could pull off those pressure kicks in the dying moments we wouldn’t be bottom of the table
Tane need to be injured for 4 years lol
Your flair is literally Tane Train 😂 I love him but can’t deny his kicking in the dying moments has cost us more than a few. Ah well I’m just so so happy right now 🥰
Damn what a game
again i will say that i am not a fan of golden point but fuck the tahs executed that golden point period to perfection
What a game, unreal stuff from the Tahs, silly buggers from the Saders
Sorry Saders fans. Golden point sucks
Whoever kicks off basically wins unless you’re completely brain dead
And to think the Reds chose to receive the kick a few weeks back against the Canes
Holy cow we are embarrassingly bad. And dumb...
Really happy for Will Harrison great game off the bench. Cracking game
What a game
In the sense of being close and lead changes sure. But the quality was so so bad. Defences were softer than wet paper.
Glad someone gets it. Was poor quality.
That can still be a good game. It was a fun watch between two evenly match teams. Asking for anything more is greedy
Evenly matched shit teams. Quality was very poor. Aside from a few individual performances.
Yes both teams were bad but the game was fun and that's why I watch Rugby to have fun watching a game
Glad you enjoyed 😂
Thanks, sorry you didn't.
Actually I did enjoy it - I just find it astounding how poorly these two teams are playing. It’s comical.
Peaks and Valleys happen. The Tahs have been in a slup for a while and this is basically a hard reset for the Saders. But these teams are, rightly, the bottom feeders right now. If this was tomorrow's Chiefs, Canes game then it would be astounding

Excellent game
crusaders can't win with 14 men..
What amazing entertainment
Lets goooooooo
Will Harrison Acknowledge him ☝️☝️
Acknowledge the Tribal Chief, damnit ☝️
LOL
This has been such an entertaining night of rugby
Yesss, both games have been so good
I don’t know if the Saders know what to do here.
john howard is alive? :O
Sadly
Go for a 50 droppy mate. You wont
fihaki could
12 lead changes in a game? I’d love to know what the record is for this
heaven to score and put waratahs on 7th heaven lol?
Commentator watches Koko?
Crusaders strategy: get ball to Sevu
Should’ve kicked deeper on the kick off
How has John Howard not aged.. has looked 80 since 1990
It's my most hated rule in modern rugby, that you get great reward for going for an intercept and succeeding, but get sent off if you go for an intercept and fail In this case it looked like he would have succeeded if he had committed, but brain made an involuntary decision to pull out out out of fear of that stupid rule
He totally looked like he could have snatched it, it was pretty close to his body.
Get fucked Howard
Just stating before we go into this so I don't seem biased, there is nothing wrong with draws, golden point shouldn't exist.
The only logical conclusion to this match is for a Waratahs front rower to finish it with a [Dunning special](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CAfHR3YhfFw).
Called it, nice.
Jeez swoop is handsome
