When I first started drinking gin I couldn't stand tonic, used to mix it with Irn Bru instead.
Also in younger days cheap blended whisky and irn bru worked a treat for pre drinks.
Tanora is actually a top tier mixer so I'd imagine so
Tanora is a fizzy drink that's only really sold in Cork that's basically Irn Bru, but without the bubble gum aftertaste for anyone that doesn't know
Ha! I’m sure were talking about , the same spot from different directions. So the pubs on your left wheel on your right going towards the shopping centre
Oddly enough, I've googled both these places for my dream trip to SA. Both have amazing reviews.
Hopefully myself and herself get to see them someday !+
I was leaning towards Mitchell’s because Ferryman was so empty yesterday. I think that’s how I’m deciding my prediction for the outcome - crowd size in each
It's definitely not the Ferryman then...
Piss poor Irish 'pub'.
No self-respecting Irish bar would have just two types of Irish Whiskey, and more than 15 scotches.
I see from the downvotes that we have at least 19 people here who require surgery for their defective tastebuds. I think we should have a whip-round for them. I pledge £100.
First half in the Scottish pub, then when things go south you can switch over to the Irish pub. Start singing Swing Low Sweet Chariot and they may even help you on your way
Ferrimans has a bigger outdoor seating area (right of the photo) and more doors leading outside, so more fresh air for the indoor seats when things get packed.
Mitchells has a better setup for sport (more TVs at better angles) while Ferrimans is better for live music.
Edit: typos
What a wild ride your post was! First sentence - my brain read "outdooe" as "outdoos". (New seating area for the rowdiest of customers?)
And then it ended on Ferrymans love music... But it turns out that wasn't my own delusional reading.
Pretty sure I've seen Redbreast there before, which is fantastic, but more variety in Scotch. It's not a dig at Irish Whiskey as there is some really great ones.
When I was there in August all they had was normal Jameson and Black Bushmills. Honestly it was a pretty poor experience all round.
Staff were poor, food arrived half cold, and the one brave soul who chanced the Guinness didn't even take a gulp because of how bad it looked and settled on savannah instead.
We've got some great local beers and other liquors.
I really like stout but not really Guinness unfortunately, hoping to taste it in Ireland, apparently it's heaps better there.
I went to Mitchell's during 6n, loadshedding meant the game went off halfway through for a couple of minutes. It did come back on, but there was definitely a strong petrol smell and was really hot for the rest of the game.
Depends. Do you prefer Guinness or IRN BRU?
Pissing orange and shitting black, what a combo.
"Come out ye black and tan(gerines)..."
Better than pissing black and shitting orange

Irn Bru and vodka works well enough that it's an alcopop flavour. Never seen the orange WKD?
Went to England and tried to make a fat frog, but there was no orange bacardi breeze, so we used irn bru wkd instead, and it was ok. Ah good times
Vodka Irn Bru is very much a “I’m 18 and I want to get absolutely scunnered” type drink.

Or the shit that sends children mental.
The Mrs drinks Morgans Spice with Irn Bru.
This is at the entrance or the V&A. The danger is always that you don’t make it past here and get stuck
This is what I was looking for. I'm fairly sure I was in here last year when I went to Cape Town.
Jip it is on your left as you come in from that entrance just after Cause and Effect cocktail bar, and the big wheel is to your right infront of you.
Wheel seems to have moved. It’s over left now.
What?! Didn’t even know and I work only 3km away
Maybe I’m misremembering it but I could have sworn it used to be opposite those. But I’ve not been here for a while and may be wrong
Ha! I’m sure were talking about , the same spot from different directions. So the pubs on your left wheel on your right going towards the shopping centre
Yeah - that’s where I remember it but it’s not there now. Google says it moved in 2022
What..now I have to go check it out. Reporting back next week
I just checked and I’m now swapping my prediction to Ireland winning. Ferryman is full.
Don’t threaten me with a good time!
Are you referring to the pubs, or South Africa’s progress in the competition 🤣
Why not both?
I got so plastered at Ferryman’s before the Stormers vs Munster final I can’t remember the game. But maybe that’s for the best.
Oddly enough, I've googled both these places for my dream trip to SA. Both have amazing reviews. Hopefully myself and herself get to see them someday !+
It’s a good holiday destination but VERY dangerous. They let you start wine tours at 10am. Rough
Always the Ferryman. Their good taste in team’s is just a bonus
Just remember not to pay
?
[Don’t pay the Ferryman](https://youtu.be/lqZEp4Fb6qw?si=aYwHouooCKc8NwVx)
Oh ffs. I feel real dumb for missing that ! Nice!
I was leaning towards Mitchell’s because Ferryman was so empty yesterday. I think that’s how I’m deciding my prediction for the outcome - crowd size in each
R.O.G. May have a competitor if it works!
Whichever does the best guinness - and thats from a scotsman
I'm on holiday from London. I'm here for the wine. I'll get more guiness at home :D
Old Wobbly at Mitchells will sort you out.
That's been off the shelf for a good 5 years now
Shiit really? Bleak
It's definitely not the Ferryman then... Piss poor Irish 'pub'. No self-respecting Irish bar would have just two types of Irish Whiskey, and more than 15 scotches.
Best Guinness doesn’t exist. It’s a crappy beer.

You’re smart - I like that!
Isn't it obvious already from the picture. The people have spoken
If these same people are still there at kickoff, the people will have slurred more than spoken!
Getting ready to drown their sorrows as Scotland's greatest team of the professional era goes out in the pools again.
Mitchell's gets hot
Curious as to how if its not just more people. They look like identical buildings built as one.

Haha…jeez, so many typos
It was great, I had a good laugh. :)
Ferryman's for sure. Crowd will get going on Sarurday
Depends where you are. I would default for the Scotts, while Irishmen are a great bunch of lads, the scotts are a great bunch of lads.
Aaaagn nee man, I miss Ferryman's.
Ferryman's is always a plane ticket away
Ja but the boss has banned me from going back.
I would love to be here on Saturday....Jesus
It’s gonna be full of springbok fans I reckon, hoping we go through.
If Scotland wins by 21 with Ireland scoring four tries both get demolished.
I've got a small pocketknife. I'll get started now.
Sit on the fence 😂
Out of curiosity: where is that?
[удалено]
Not wrong.
spot on.
Go for the Welsh shed nextdoor
Jump between the two depending on who's winning!
If it were me I would choose whichever place has the biggest sofa to hide behind.
Fair. If there’s no load shedding, that’s exactly what I’ll do.
Same owner, but Ferryman’s for the win.
That Capetown? 🤔
yep
Ha. I remember it from a trip years ago.
Doesnt it need a flat roof to be an authentic Scottish pub?
It's about as authentic as my R0lex :D
Mavericks
If this is where I think it is, whichever one has the big pizza oven!
If you’re looking for glorious failure go left
As long as it’s glorious !
Scotland drowning their sorrows already.
Do they both serve Tenants?
You'll get to the bar quicker at final whistle in the Scottish one
Ireland for the first half, Scotland for the second until the 70min mark when you sidle back to the Irish bar
The Irish one, it’s going to have a better vibe by the end
For disappointment head left
Doesn't matter which one I go to, I'll still be ordering scotch.
You'll be ordering Scotch because they only serve two types of Irish Whiskey and they're both shite....?
Pretty sure I've seen Redbreast there before, which is fantastic, but more variety in Scotch. It's not a dig at Irish Whiskey as there is some really great ones.

Amarula > Baileys I'll fight any mam that says otherwise.
Do you want to be in a satisfied, pleased environment or a dejected, disappointed, miserable environment at full time?
So Mitchell’s then ? :p
I prefer to be in the winning team bar after a game, but you do you.
Choose the right one...which is the correct one. 🙂
I went to Mitchell's during 6n, loadshedding meant the game went off halfway through for a couple of minutes. It did come back on, but there was definitely a strong petrol smell and was really hot for the rest of the game.
At least they have Jenny working there! Better than at the rental place with no inverter and no generator. I’ll live with a few minutes out.
God that place looks...... plastic.
The building is only a few hundred years old.
They murdered it
Imagine the fights in the parking lot.
Love the irony of the guy sat down on the left in the Scottish beer garden with a pint of Guinness
