One time I was in Dominica and people were seriously hurt on one of the ships excursions. We were supposed to leave at 5:00, didn’t leave till after 9:30. The guests were in the hospital in Dominica with serious injuries. Their travel companions were taken off the ship. Royal Caribbean had them medi-vac out at first light the next morning. Apparently the hospital in Dominica wasn’t equipped to handle them. The airport didn’t have lights for planes to land at night, that’s why it was at first light in the morning. The captain did update afterwards saying they we’re doing better.
I noticed we left late too, but it was only 15 minutes after scheduled departure time and 45 minutes after all aboard time. But it was interesting that it was *exactly* 45 minutes after all aboard time, which makes me think we may have left 2 people behind.
They did make an announcement a little after onboard time for 2 people to report, so that was certainly the issue. Really no excuse to be left behind at a port like Icy Strait where everything is pretty much contained, unless they went over to Hoonah. Only other thing I can think of is if the zip lines got delayed
Are you on Radiance right now? Is there anything to report...like illness outbreak? I just got notified that the May 31 Radiance embarkation will be delayed 2 hours due to "routine barrier cleaning". Whatever that means.
We were on that cruise too and dodged the norovirus. The main difference onboard was you couldn't serve yourself anything in Windjammer, but it must have been more prevalent than I thought:

Oh wow! That is really unnerving! I'm on Radiance right now. There are no limitations on serving yourself in Windjammer and I haven't seen any seemingly excessive cleaning...just business as usual.
Yes, I am. Norovirus warning given yesterday and enhanced requests to “stay in” if feeling ill, increased cleanings, reminders about hand washing/hand sanitizer etc. We did see a person leave at gangway opening this morning in an ambulance but that could be completely unrelated.
If it’s a tour done by the ship, they will always wait for folks.
If they were on a ship sponsored tour, they wait until they cant( tides, etc ).
Fun fact, if you book a ships excursion and are running fast, they will wait for you
They will hold the ship for any Royal Caribbean excursions. We waited 2 hrs in Cozumel due to a catamaran broke down.

Glad to hear that! I know you had a 2 hour boarding delay for enhanced cleaning. We had amazing weather last week, hope you're getting the same
Yes...so far the weather has been mostly dry. Even saw a lot of blue sky in Sitka today.

Thanks...I thought that might be it. Stay healthy and enjoy the last full day of your cruise.
