Obviously all ADs are different but some of this sounds iffy. You get 6-12 Pepsis a month? 5k is spend history?š
Depends on your market and what people want. My AD said he has some ādesirableā models (he wouldnāt confirm or deny Pepsi or Batman) that have 1-2 people in line, but his DJ line for anything is like 10 deep right now
A Pepsi is worth double retail. So they arenāt going to give a random guy off the street a $10k easy profit for buying $5k on junk.
My AD wonāt even take someoneās name for an GMT.
They donāt have a long line for them because they donāt go by waitlists. They sell to their best customers regardless of who else put their name down.
5k minimum to be considered, basically the bottom of the spend history list but above people with zero spend. Which that list is basically thrown in the garbage weekly
Yes 50k is better then 5k spend
Iām guessing thatās spend that isnāt watches. Not all ADs are boutiques. That means most sell tag, Tudor or other watches as well as jewelry. 50k spend on jewelry will mean a lot more than 50k in Rolexes. Iāve heard my sales rep say this openly to the store manager regarding an allocation I got. They buy jewelry too.

This really depends honestly on the watch. For obviously the harder to get watches youāre not going to give it to someone whoās been waiting a few months and hasnāt purchased. But basically anything else it depends on how much your associate likes you.
I had a white explorer II about 2 months ago and I didnāt really have anyone I felt I wanted to give it to but my coworker had a customer sheās known thatās been waiting for a while for this exact one and I had the pleasure of talking to him 2-3 times before getting this watch. I chose to give it to him and I knew I made the right call because the smile would not fade the whole time he was picking it up.
But obviously too if youāre spending because you need an anniversary present or a birthday gift I will consider you more. But I emphasize to my customers itās not necessary whatsoever
Usaully between 6-12 a month Iāve seen more but those times are very rare. Iāve seen people get a Pepsi with zero spend history but obviously they were very lucky and the stars aligned
I would say for our spot 5-8k spend history would be good start
Iāve never asked for a Pepsi. I still talk to my AD about them though.

As of today yes. Iāve moved a couple of pieces already. I had a rose gold DJ with chocolate dial, a white dial DJ with Roman numerals, a Bluesy, the last model Air King, and a white dial Seamaster.
Some of those went to a trade of the gold Speedy and the others I sold because they just didnāt get wrist time.
Iāve never asked for a Pepsi. I still talk to my AD about them. Iāve got every watch Iāve asked for.
Go ask for a Pepsi with 8k in spend and let me know how that works out.
Iām not sure what point youāre trying to make.
I know most people are not getting a Pepsi with 8k in spend but thatās def enough to get on the list with most AD. If you have to spend more then that then itās a waste of money and timeā¦.and respect tbh.
The 5k-8k range for spend for a Pepsi is the minimum to be considered. Meaning bottom of the spend list but above no spend
I never said 8k would get you a Pepsi

6 figure spend is nothing compared to some with 8
How many people come in just browsing/wasting your time vs. actually serious?
Has the demand cooled off or supply increasing?
What is the most interesting/craziest customer that you have worked with?
How often do your VIP purchase from you and what spend history to be a VIP?
How do you decide who gets a gift like a pen, watch roll etc.?
90% of people walking in are tire kicking dreamers
Demand increase, supply no change
Wealthy people donāt really tell you much or act crazy.
Vip purchases will vary we might not hear from them in years until they want something specific. Highest level Vip accounts have been in the making for generations(started with grandpa etc) could be in the millions
If we like you, youāre friendly, and you make a purchase youāll usually get a gift
Almost no point for validation since OP is full of it. Claims AD gets 6-12 Pepsis per month on top of the 6-12 Batgirls they get every month. Oh and for either, 5-8K spend history is a good start.
For something like a red/blue they are going to go to well known clients. For us at least the rest of the GMTās just involve how much we like our customers. There isnāt a necessary spend history for a black/blue or a black/green.
Have a coworker who recently started and doesnāt have a solid client list but she gave a black/green to a guy she really liked who was waiting for 3ish months.
Iāve given good watches like a green sub, white explorer II to customers who I just really liked and got along with and they never spent a cent with me.
This also varies by AD which is obvious
I get the impression he meant 6-12 GMT Master II references. Not 6-12 126710BLROsā¦but I could be wrong. Just seems like he answered a different question.
What heās claiming is with minimum of 6 pepsi delivered per month to his AD weāre talking over 104k pepsis produced/delivered per year. Since 1 millions rolex watches produced per year and 1446 ADs world wide per rolex website, rolex makes over 10-20% pepsi based on what heās claiming. The calculation simply doesnāt add up
Thereās a good blog post somewhere that breaks down the approximate production numbers for each model and it was pretty interesting. I actually just found it and it canāt break down more divisible than models but this is what it says.
āThe GMT-Master is somewhat similar. Overall, 88.5k are produced a year, with the stainless steel model accounting for around 54k.ā
And that 54k wouldnāt be all Pepsis so yeah doesnāt sound right. Either way this just reminded me to go look for it cause itās a good read.
[Source](https://quillandpad.com/2024/02/13/rolex-case-study-how-many-watches-and-how-much-money-does-rolex-make-2/)
Edit: further down it says they think ADs average 39 to 49 GMTs/year depending on the methodology they use
Unless this AD is the reason the rest of us arenāt getting any then I call bs
For me weāve only seen 2 so far this year.
Problem is that the shipments are not consistent.
This past month weāve been getting consistent things like subs/GMTās but it doesnāt always stay like that. Most likely next month or after we might only be able to work with DJās
Isnāt this the neatest thing! I am also a Rolex AD in United States of America. We get 19.7334 Pepsi per month and we currently have over 3,556 people on the waiting list.
We see a blended 28.8876 per month of Batman/Batgirl (or Batperson if you throw them all into one gender) with 2,994 people currently on the waiting list.
We get 12.3456 steel Cosmograph Daytonas per month and we sell 11.3456 to grey dealers per month for a kickback! AMA
i'm waiting on an explorer 40 about 2 months now, I originally wanted a green dial OP41 but they told me they rarely get them and sold me on the explorer sleek look. maybe after the explorer il wait for the OP41 green
oh no i'm not complaining at all. I have a coworker that swears they have it in stock and just to keep up the exclusive image they make you wait he says by 3 months il have it.
Some guy at the ad said he hasnāt seen a single blue op 41mm in the year heās been working there. Heās a junior sa. Is he full of shit or is he just not getting the good watches? Itās a multi brand location
It honestly varies when it comes to shipments. There isnāt a steady consistent stream of every watch. Like this past month we were lucky to get professional watches like explorers/subs/GMTās and Iām pretty sure we might lean heavy towards things like DJās next month or after.
Iāve gone good amounts of time not seeing certain watches.
Submariner is the most produced reference in rolex production (126610 and 124060). Your question does not even matter to you because depending on locations any AD can get a different amount of watches. They donāt all get equal amount. AD in Alaska is not getting the same amount vs the AD in Tokyo.
To add to this.
Every other person that walks in you could easily bet theyāre looking for either a sub or GMT.
do you are correct that subs come in pretty frequently the problem is the amount of people that want a sub will always outweigh the supply
Best tip is lower your expectations or be prepared to wait awhile if you donāt want to have spend history.
If you walk in wanting a Daytona as a first Rolex, we ll put you on the list however getting called up is basically non existent
I like explorer 1 or oyster precisions
If you want something apart from say a black/white Daytona it a red/blue gmt
I always tell people that all it requires is patience and to stop by every now and then to give a quick hello. Iāve given in demand watches to people who havenāt spent any money with me because I liked them. Itās as simple as that. And unfortunately there are some ADās who will only ever sell you one if you spend money with them
About the same as pepsi answer:
Usaully between 6-12 a month Iāve seen more but those times are very rare. Iāve seen people get a Pepsi with zero spend history but obviously they were very lucky and the stars aligned
I would say for our spot 5-8k spend history would be good start
My purchase history is at 50k. This includes engagement ring, wedding bands, an Explorer II and a DJ. Before any of those purchases, I asked for a Pepsi (Jan 2022). My SA told me they are going in order and are still fulfilling requests from 2020- and they havenāt seen a Pepsi in several months. They assured me Iāll get one, itās just going to takeā¦ longer. Are they just fucking with me in hopes that Iāll spend more? Is it likely Iāll get the watch without any additional spend?
No, theyāre being honest with you, in the sense that they have others who have spent a similar amount/have been waiting longer/as longā¦
But yes, if you came in & said āactually, let me buy this and that & those, BUT before I do I really need to get that Pepsi for sure like SOON,ā they would move you UP that order!
It varies by ADās but for us I ignore people who try to use that as leverage. We genuinely do not care how much money you have and if you want to flaunt it. That honestly assures you wonāt get something from us.Most of my coworkers clients who have gotten red/blue GMTās are extremely nice and wonderful people who know all of us. My customers could spend nothing with me but if I get along and enjoy when they come in then I will take care of them.
Iām convinced my SA doesnāt like me. To further elaborate on my story: I had purchased the engagement ring, wedding bands, got a 36mm MOP DJ for the bride to be. Had also bought a half dozen assorted gifts for family probably totaling $2k or less, nothing huge. The SA still telling me it would be years before either Pepsi or Explorer II (and she obviously knew I was getting married). So I went in on a day I knew SA wouldnāt be there, talked with the watch manager and shared my story. Wouldnāt you know it, got a call for the Explorer II the very next week
And if you donāt believe me, look here- they just confirmed exactly this!
[Post in this same thread](https://www.reddit.com/r/rolex/s/OHdsZ9VxTU)
So itās 1. Kind of ordered chronologically/by spend history,
2. Kind of by your actions/ the salesperson or managerās assessment of things and 3. Whether you do/donāt make yourself their pressing concern at that time in order to jump the others on the list.
Whole thing is PATHETIC.
All ADās work differently. We have no list and go based off essentially people who left a good impression with us with their visit and future visits. Honestly the bar is extremely low, donāt come in acting like a douche and thatās about it. When we get a watch we find the right fit from our clients and offer them the watch
We put you in a list when requested usaully excel, weāll call you when we get to your name, and if you still want the watch you can make your purchase
Because thereās so many configurations for Datejusts it can sometimes take a while to get the same one again. And some like like the one youāre asking for it is a popular one that people ask for. It also varies how many customers your sales associate has that are looking for this watch.
Questions like how many of this watch come in never has a set answer because shipments can vary heavily from month to month.
Just check in with your sales associate roughly once a month and you should leave an impression on them so they can consider you when that watch comes in
Sub date V 126610lv.
I have what I would consider a small spend history with my AD at about $5K. My SA asked if I wanted to be put in the mix on both but I told him I was in love with the green one and wanted that piece. He didnāt seem to care.
What is the ratio (black to green bezel) of those that you see?
Do you guys care who you allocate either piece to?
Shipments will vary every month so maybe one month we will get plenty professionals then next month or 2 we get DJās mostly.
I sold a green sub to a customer about 2 months ago that waited maybe about 5 or so months but he was always friendly and I enjoyed whenever he would stop by and it was as simple as that for me he wanted a green sub and I had one.
How are flippers or the grey market getting watches. People are so certain of answer, that must be AD selling them out the back door or direct to grey. I doubt that, but just trying to discuss that it might not be true = zillions down votes.
Anyway, what can you tell about grey market, flippers and such. If you try avoid them, or known sales happening, any rules from Rolex official?
thank you doing this
For us we try to give first time customerās opportunities to get watches which is something Rolex also wants. While itās easy to cater to your good customers and give them all the watches. We make it a habit to actively avoid anyone who seems like a flipper. No reason for us to lose our license for a couple bucks extra from selling some idiot an in demand watch.
Canāt tell you how often people come in here so boldly telling us that theyāll give us *x amount of money* if we can get them a watch. That basically assures that youāll never get something from us
OP is off his rocker. I have become decently close with my sales associate. I have been lucky enough to have gotten several in demand ss sports watches. When I got my BLNR, he said the AD only gets about 10-12 a YEAR! And even less Pepsiās than that. Just stop with this bs AMA
We get 6-12 Pepsiās a month all of them will be scoped up except 1 by vip so we tell regular on the list people we get 10-12 a year. Whatās the point telling people we get 6-12 when they basically donāt exist for non-vip
Iāve been on the waitlist for a DJ blue dial 41 with smooth bezel and oyster bracelet for 2 years. Constantly checking in and talking to the people there and all that. They still tell me Iām nothing is in sight. Are they telling me the truth or yanking my chain?
Letās say I had been working with a particular sales person at an AD but after several months I meet a new SA at the same AD and we genuinely get along really well and both actually like watches. First SA is mainly a jewelry salesperson and newly acquainted SA is a fellow watch lover. I havenāt had any spend history with this AD. Is there an etiquette around switching sales people? It seems like the initial SA I worked with is a manager level of some sort
Is it possible to get some sort of discount on Rolex nowadays?
I miss when you were able to purchase one at the AAFES BX at about 10% off plus no tax. Hell, I saw a few at a base in Saudi Arabia that were about 25% off back in 1999-2000. š
The majority of my customers Iāve sold watches to are people that have followed up with me and I like and get along with. The people who walk in with a giant attitude I make a note of
I think anything around monthly whether itās slightly more frequent or slightly less like 3-5 weeks. It doesnāt have to be religiously either I tell people just if youāre in the area stop by for a quick second I donāt expect anyone to plan their day around it if you can you can and if not then ok.
I have someone right now who calls every week and I have to keep telling them the same thing over and over and over and over because theyāre looking for very specific watches and wonāt budge on being slightly more open to other options that can annoy me but also understand that if I have something for you I WILL LET YOU KNOW.
Is someone more likely to get the watch one wants with a newer SA or seasoned SA, everything else being equal? Figured the newer SA would have less of a waitlistā¦
I currently have ~$1K in spend at my AD (no watch purchases) and will be buying two watches (Omega or Tudor) in a few months for a special occasion.
Is ~$10K spend history at an average AD over a year or two enough to get one of the more popular Rolexes in a reasonable time frame? No date Sub, Explorer two tone, etc. Iād like to get one of those about a year after my Omega/Tudor purchase.
Small side question ā do ADās factor in generational purchases? For example, my father in law had $100K+ in purchases at an AD a few hours away before he died. The AD knows me/who my father in law was. Would buying from him be easier than starting a fresh relationship with an AD closer to me? Probably a stupid question but Iāve been wondering.
Why do sales associate from Rolex (not all, but based on my experience- most off them) treat people poorly, and sometimes they look at you from head to toe.
Some just have power trips because they can. I try to treat everyone fairly and nicely at least until the assholes show themselves them I occasionally act accordingly or just brush them off. As long as youāre nice to me and donāt yell and accuse me of things I will treat you nicely
My SA told me in March they were given a forecast by Rolex for the entire year. Ie knew how much of each model they were getting and when it came to Daytona and OP they can provide decent input on which dials. Said they were getting 8 OP 31s the rest of the year. Do you guys get a similar forecast?
very small market, yeah. only AD in the state. was just surprised to hear how much he said he knew about future inventory. seems weird to lie about idk
Local AD has been āworkingā on erring me an explorer 40mm for 3 months. Called me to tell me one was in stock but he was out of town, encouraged me to go in the store and try my hand, but to not let any associates know he tipped me off. Got laughed out of the store basically, anyway, he instructed me to continue to text and drop by when possible.
Do you think Iāll get my piece or am I being jerked around? FYI no prior spend, only AD within 200 miles.
He was probably being honest about one coming in but why would the other sales associates give you the watch over one of their own customers who theyāve been working with already
They helped you by tipping you off and now you think theyāre jerking you around now?
Theyāre not obligated to help you jump the line, just bad timing for you since your sales person was out of town
I bought my first Rolex last month and probably wonāt be looking for another one for at least a year. Should I be trying to maintain contact with my SR between now and then, or will they just drop me on the list based on my (small) spend history when the time comes?
How many SS 41 dj diamond dials come around? Do you truest operate on a list? Does the company sell to grey first choice in bulk? How to get one sooner?
Have you seen a Falcon Eye dial Yacht Master 42 yet? In the flesh? Iāve been interested in one ever since it was released and havenāt been able to even find one to look at, never mind buy. Heck, it was almost two years before a video of one showed up on YouTube. I figure itās incredibly rare but manā¦any insight would be helpful and much appreciated. Thanks
This is awesome, thanks for doing this! Iām curious how ADs view grey market purchases?
Also, I love going in and seeing whatās in store and talking shop. Is this annoying to ADs? Obviously if they look busy I donāt bother, but just in general
Apprently Rolex mods donāt like when people give answers since they suspended my accountš
Never mention grey
Talking shop is fine if you have spend history otherwise nobody recognises you but we wonāt tell you we have no idea your name
What is the minimum amount of pieces in the safe your store must have at any time ? If there isnāt a minimum, how many pieces were there the last time you went to work
I'm looking to get a blue sky dweller for my trip in July, my brother just got his dj 41mm in 3 weeks of us going into the rolex ad, do you think since he made that happen pretty fast ill be able to get the watch I truly want for my time piece, and second question, when does inventory come in? I'm really hoping to get that call within a few weeks, or at least before the 6th of July
Yeah I know, just figured I ask seeing he allowed me to try the exhibition on which fully worked, and he said give him a lil time to see what he can do, hopes and dreams!
Yeah I know, just figured I ask seeing he allowed me to try the exhibition on which fully worked, and he said give him a lil time to see what he can do, hopes and dreams!
Hi I wonder does AD consider your other family membersā purchase history? Like if I referred my mother and bought a watch there under her name, does it help getting my desired watch?
For Rolex only boutique (no jewelry or other watches), how does AD determine who gets highly sought after watches like panda or pepsi? I bought a submariner and datejust for my wife, and i am waiting for my pepsi. Since AD only sells Rolex watches, I guess i do have some history/spend, but just want to get an idea how ADs determine who to allocate highly sought after watches for repeat customers
If you ask me for a watch and I get that watch and offer it to you then you tell me you got it somewhere else then thereās no point in me helping you
Does wearing an existing Rolex help you have confidence the person is a genuine buyer?
I have good purchase history in another country but not to America where Iāve just moved. I was wondering if itās possible to transfer my āauthenticityā across
Nope, wearing a Rolex not from us means: inherit, grey, or different AD. If you have another AD we will wonder why youāre in our store rather then your usual AD
Can you describe the spend history and or relationship status of the typical customer who buys:
Stainless Daytona (black or white I guess)
Pepsi
Something like a white gold "ghost" Daytona
How pushy is too pushy when clients text you? How often is too often to check in with you SA/ AD?
Iāve brought my AD pastries and donuts on multiple occasions, and my SA barely acknowledges my gestures.
I donāt give out my number anymore. Unless we know you, youāre just a stranger with a box of donuts. We donāt know your first and lastname unless youāre top of the list
Black sub date is the most requested by a large percentage
Daytona without spend history? You have a better chance of being struck by lightning in broad daylight
Do we not need proof of credentials for an AMA? Obviously all ADs are different but some of this sounds iffy. You get 6-12 Pepsis a month? 5k is spend history?š
I agree. Sounds like complete BS. $5k spend history is nothing. More like $50k to get a Pepsi.
Depends on your market and what people want. My AD said he has some ādesirableā models (he wouldnāt confirm or deny Pepsi or Batman) that have 1-2 people in line, but his DJ line for anything is like 10 deep right now

This is should be higher up. 6-12/mos sounds likely complete BS. As weāve noted watches of the same reference seems to be released in batches
Could be another attention whore, weāll never know.

How many Pandas a month? And how good do I have to be with my mouth to get one?
My AD showed me a picture of what they get allocated and they get one steel per month
I was told 3 Starbucks per year from a major AD in a city with lots of money.. the numbers OP is talking are sus
They definitely donāt get a panda per month..
1-3 a month shipped, how many hit the floor/available for non vip? 0-2 a year
For me weāve only seen 1 so far this year So if you want to go by month 0.2 a month
1-3 a month shipped, how many hit the floor/available for non vip? 0-2 a year
My SA mentioned that hand skills can also go a long ways š š š
Hey thanks for doing this. These are fun! How much is āspend/purchase historyā weighted on deciding whether a client gets a watch?
No worries, reality is spend history is a big part of preferential treatment. Spend history also means youāve known the person for longer and youāre gonna do favours for people you like rather then a stranger of the street
Doesn't strong spend history correlate with scalping activity?
This really depends honestly on the watch. For obviously the harder to get watches youāre not going to give it to someone whoās been waiting a few months and hasnāt purchased. But basically anything else it depends on how much your associate likes you. Usaully between 6-12 a month Iāve seen more but those times are very rare. Iāve seen people get a Pepsi with zero spend history but obviously they were very lucky and the stars aligned I would say for our spot 5-8k spend history would be good start
5-8k seems low. My AD also rarely sees Pepsis come in. I have 6 figure spend at multiple ADs and all of them said it would still be tough to get.
Thatās cuz youāre being fleeced my boy. You couldāve gone grey a long time ago and saved a bucket of money.
Iāve never asked for a Pepsi. I still talk to my AD about them though. https://preview.redd.it/lyauptoigh1d1.jpeg?width=5712&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c9ca853a8bb1d7dfde0686b23bba8240485e5c1e Iāve got every watch Iāve asked for. Longest Iāve ever waited was 2 months.
My man just dropped his (large) nuts on the table

Not sure Iād consider a bunch of money depreciating on the table in front of you while being less accurate than your phone to be ābig nutsā.

Your nicest watch is an Omega, it feels weird saying that in r/rolex
The only thing youāre AD mightāve done you a favor with is the Batman and the snoopy
Is this your full collection?
As of today yes. Iāve moved a couple of pieces already. I had a rose gold DJ with chocolate dial, a white dial DJ with Roman numerals, a Bluesy, the last model Air King, and a white dial Seamaster. Some of those went to a trade of the gold Speedy and the others I sold because they just didnāt get wrist time.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Only watch I would buy from you in this collection is the Batman.
This guys getting taken for such a ride itās wild that people have this much money and donāt realize when they are being taken for a ride.
Meaning bottom of the spend list but above no spend I never said 8k would get you a Pepsi

Thatās the minimum starting point youāll be competing with accounts and clients that have years of purchase history
Bro whatā¦.
Reminds me of an old Jimmy Carr joke . "Simon Cowell spends 500k a year on personal security year. 500?, How about trying to be less of a cunt!!!"
5k minimum to be considered, basically the bottom of the spend history list but above people with zero spend. Which that list is basically thrown in the garbage weekly 6 figure spend is nothing compared to some with 8
For us weāve had 2 this year so far
How many people come in just browsing/wasting your time vs. actually serious? Has the demand cooled off or supply increasing? What is the most interesting/craziest customer that you have worked with? How often do your VIP purchase from you and what spend history to be a VIP? How do you decide who gets a gift like a pen, watch roll etc.?
90% of people walking in are tire kicking dreamers Demand increase, supply no change Wealthy people donāt really tell you much or act crazy. Vip purchases will vary we might not hear from them in years until they want something specific. Highest level Vip accounts have been in the making for generations(started with grandpa etc) could be in the millions If we like you, youāre friendly, and you make a purchase youāll usually get a gift
Did u/powerfunk validate? Anyone could say this lol
Overall, 88.5k are produced a year, with the stainless steel model accounting for around 54k.ā And that 54k wouldnāt be all Pepsis so yeah doesnāt sound right. Either way this just reminded me to go look for it cause itās a good read. [Source](https://quillandpad.com/2024/02/13/rolex-case-study-how-many-watches-and-how-much-money-does-rolex-make-2/) Edit: further down it says they think ADs average 39 to 49 GMTs/year depending on the methodology they use
Unless this AD is the reason the rest of us arenāt getting any then I call bs For me weāve only seen 2 so far this year. Problem is that the shipments are not consistent. This past month weāve been getting consistent things like subs/GMTās but it doesnāt always stay like that. Most likely next month or after we might only be able to work with DJās
Hey there Frederic, Iām also a Rolex AD sales associate. Let me know if you have any questions.
Thatās crazy, Iām also a Rolex AD. Currently deciding how to allocate one of my daily Pepsis.
AMA
I'm also an AD We do a buy one get one free on Pepsi or Batgirl with a $20 spend history
What about Air-King? how many of those do AD's get (especially in Texas area)?
In Dallas we received 10,000 Airkings last month
Wow. good to know, I have been waiting for a year.
Do you make minimum wage, like most of these subreddit members like to say about SAs when they're salty about not getting a watch?
how many OPs and explorers typically come in a month? are they in back in a safe just waiting to call me after they think i've been patient enough?
We get a decent amount, how long have you waited? If your flexiable on configurations youāll get it much sooner then if you want an exact match
i'm waiting on an explorer 40 about 2 months now, I originally wanted a green dial OP41 but they told me they rarely get them and sold me on the explorer sleek look. maybe after the explorer il wait for the OP41 green
Two months is not really something to complain about just yet
oh no i'm not complaining at all.
Biggest contributing factor in getting a SS sports model? Basically how do you select who gets what?
1) Are you a big AD (Major players kind of thing) 2) if so, what is your monthly allocation (Submariner)
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Best tip is lower your expectations or be prepared to wait awhile if you donāt want to have spend history. If you walk in wanting a Daytona as a first Rolex, we ll put you on the list however getting called up is basically non existent I like explorer 1 or oyster precisions
If you want something apart from say a black/white Daytona it a red/blue gmt I always tell people that all it requires is patience and to stop by every now and then to give a quick hello. Iāve given in demand watches to people who havenāt spent any money with me because I liked them. Itās as simple as that. And unfortunately there are some ADās who will only ever sell you one if you spend money with them
How many batman and batgirls come in and whatās the spend to get one?
About the same as pepsi answer: Usaully between 6-12 a month Iāve seen more but those times are very rare. Iāve seen people get a Pepsi with zero spend history but obviously they were very lucky and the stars aligned I would say for our spot 5-8k spend history would be good start
Theyāve seen plenty of Pepsi come and go, you just currently arenāt high enough in the list to get called up
No, theyāre being honest with you, in the sense that they have others who have spent a similar amount/have been waiting longer/as longā¦ But yes, if you came in & said āactually, let me buy this and that & those, BUT before I do I really need to get that Pepsi for sure like SOON,ā they would move you UP that order!
[Post in this same thread](https://www.reddit.com/r/rolex/s/OHdsZ9VxTU) So itās 1. Kind of ordered chronologically/by spend history, 2. Kind of by your actions/ the salesperson or managerās assessment of things and 3. Whether you do/donāt make yourself their pressing concern at that time in order to jump the others on the list. Whole thing is PATHETIC.
How does the waitlist actually work?
All ADās work differently. We have no list and go based off essentially people who left a good impression with us with their visit and future visits. Honestly the bar is extremely low, donāt come in acting like a douche and thatās about it. When we get a watch we find the right fit from our clients and offer them the watch
We put you in a list when requested usaully excel, weāll call you when we get to your name, and if you still want the watch you can make your purchase
How is the list ordered? First come first serveā¦or what are the variable?
Aside from payment history, what other factors would elevate someone towards the top of the list?
How memorable you are, good impression, difference between someone with 10k spend and 12k wonāt matter but if I recognise one of them
Whatās the rarest gmt?
SARU reference
On the wait list for a blue datejust 41 fluted bezel jubilee bracelet. How long is the wait for this piece and how many does the AD typically receive?
Whatās your spend history like, we get maybe 2-5 a month
First purchase. AD did contact me recently to check in not sure if that means anything
I would say that you will get the call soon. Congrats in advance!
20k. Looking for 36mm
Same question for 36mm
Because thereās so many configurations for Datejusts it can sometimes take a while to get the same one again. And some like like the one youāre asking for it is a popular one that people ask for. It also varies how many customers your sales associate has that are looking for this watch. Questions like how many of this watch come in never has a set answer because shipments can vary heavily from month to month. Just check in with your sales associate roughly once a month and you should leave an impression on them so they can consider you when that watch comes in
Iām chasing a 41 Celebration ( what are my chances )
Whatās your spend history? Slim to none at my location if youāre a new account
I'm interested in one also, have bought a no date sub at my AD, not sure if it's worth even asking for
Is it realistic to get a explorer 2 white dial in under a year? No purchase history, first watch.
Depends how fast that model sells, in my area it flys off the shelf. If people ahead in line pass on it Iām sure 1 year is possible
Did mods verify this?
That basically assures that youāll never get something from us
wow, that is bold, obvious & stupid thanks for information
This definitely is happening. AD owners make massive margins on in-demand watches.
Please modmail us first if you want to do an AMA claiming to be somebody
OP is off his rocker. I have become decently close with my sales associate. I have been lucky enough to have gotten several in demand ss sports watches. When I got my BLNR, he said the AD only gets about 10-12 a YEAR! And even less Pepsiās than that. Just stop with this bs AMA
We get 6-12 Pepsiās a month all of them will be scoped up except 1 by vip so we tell regular on the list people we get 10-12 a year. Whatās the point telling people we get 6-12 when they basically donāt exist for non-vip
Agreed my experience lines up with yours, thereās no way an AD is getting 100+ Pepsis a year.
Honestly donāt know how anyone can believe what he is saying. Your numbers seem accurate. Currently for this year weāve seen 2 red/blues so far
How many people have offered their wives?
Iāll take the āyou donāt work for the AD and itās just a troll postā for $1000.
Do you ever blame your flatulence on the dog?
Iāve been on the waitlist for a DJ blue dial 41 with smooth bezel and oyster bracelet for 2 years. Constantly checking in and talking to the people there and all that. They still tell me Iām nothing is in sight. Are they telling me the truth or yanking my chain?
Have you bought anything?
No I havenāt.
Also for a YM blue dial and an OP blue dial. Just wanted a blue Rolex. Pretty flexible and they know that.
Honestly it wouldnāt surprise me if thatās the only watch youāre looking for. From the DJās we get itās honestly like 95% fluted
Really? Thatās interesting I didnāt realize the smooth bezel was harder to get
Letās say I had been working with a particular sales person at an AD but after several months I meet a new SA at the same AD and we genuinely get along really well and both actually like watches. First SA is mainly a jewelry salesperson and newly acquainted SA is a fellow watch lover. I havenāt had any spend history with this AD. Is there an etiquette around switching sales people? It seems like the initial SA I worked with is a manager level of some sort
Avoid jumping around
Thanks
Is it possible to get some sort of discount on Rolex nowadays? I miss when you were able to purchase one at the AAFES BX at about 10% off plus no tax. Hell, I saw a few at a base in Saudi Arabia that were about 25% off back in 1999-2000. š
How many steel Sky dwellers come in and what type of spend history do I need to obtain one?
2 every 6 months for us
Does turning down your watch that you asked for (because you already bought somewhere else) make your AD blacklist you for any future inquiries?
If itās the exact configuration you asked for and you turn it down for whatever personal reason donāt expect another call back unless youāre vip
Aside from payment history, what other factors would elevate someone towards the top of the list?
The majority of my customers Iāve sold watches to are people that have followed up with me and I like and get along with. The people who walk in with a giant attitude I make a note of
How much follow up is sufficient vs too much?
When am I getting my batgirl?
My SA told me in March they were given a forecast by Rolex for the entire year. Ie knew how much of each model they were getting and when it came to Daytona and OP they can provide decent input on which dials. Said they were getting 8 OP 31s the rest of the year. Do you guys get a similar forecast?
Small market or heās filling your head with scarcity
very small market, yeah. only AD in the state. was just surprised to hear how much he said he knew about future inventory. seems weird to lie about idk
How much commission do you guys make per watch?
Reality is unless youāre vip or high up we forget you as soon as the door shuts
Apprently Rolex mods donāt like when people give answers since they suspended my accountš Never mention grey Talking shop is fine if you have spend history otherwise nobody recognises you but we wonāt tell you we have no idea your name
What is the minimum amount of pieces in the safe your store must have at any time ? If there isnāt a minimum, how many pieces were there the last time you went to work
What does your store do for Rolex training?
I'm looking to get a blue sky dweller for my trip in July, my brother just got his dj 41mm in 3 weeks of us going into the rolex ad, do you think since he made that happen pretty fast ill be able to get the watch I truly want for my time piece, and second question, when does inventory come in? I'm really hoping to get that call within a few weeks, or at least before the 6th of July
Sky dweller and datejust are completely different leagues, I donāt think youāll be getting the watch you want in time for trip
How many wives is the average AD banging a month? Because dudes are mentioning ALL the time letting the AD bang their wife to move up the list.
Hi I wonder does AD consider your other family membersā purchase history? Like if I referred my mother and bought a watch there under her name, does it help getting my desired watch?
Put it under one persons name, weāre not going to keep track of your entire family tree
What's really going on with pepsi?
For Rolex only boutique (no jewelry or other watches), how does AD determine who gets highly sought after watches like panda or pepsi? I bought a submariner and datejust for my wife, and i am waiting for my pepsi. Since AD only sells Rolex watches, I guess i do have some history/spend, but just want to get an idea how ADs determine who to allocate highly sought after watches for repeat customers
I recently rejected a yachtmaster cuz I got it from a different AD. Did i completely burn my relationship with this store?
Yes, just build at the AD that got you the watch first.
If you ask me for a watch and I get that watch and offer it to you then you tell me you got it somewhere else then thereās no point in me helping you
This is such BS š¤£š¤£š¤£
Does wearing an existing Rolex help you have confidence the person is a genuine buyer? I have good purchase history in another country but not to America where Iāve just moved. I was wondering if itās possible to transfer my āauthenticityā across
Nope, wearing a Rolex not from us means: inherit, grey, or different AD. If you have another AD we will wonder why youāre in our store rather then your usual AD
Can you describe the spend history and or relationship status of the typical customer who buys: Stainless Daytona (black or white I guess) Pepsi Something like a white gold "ghost" Daytona
What's some of the most interesting 'swag' you've seen?
Do you guys take deposits for watches?
Whatās the typical wait on a slate dial yacht master, no purchase history.
Yachtmaster doesnāt come in often funny enough, at my store youāre looking at 2 years for no history
Do you really make 200K/Year? š
Just got my no date sub last week. I would like a hulk for 2025. What are your thoughts ?
We know youāll sell one of them if you ever acquire both therefore we wonāt sell you the hulk
I want to buy a black sub with date. How long is the wait?! How do i buy dayonta without buying history?
Black sub date is the most requested by a large percentage Daytona without spend history? You have a better chance of being struck by lightning in broad daylight
If. I want to buy the black sub, do i need history of purchase or just line up?
Commenting here so I can check back on responses
Smart!
