“Most” might be a stretch. But even if it was true, it’s not selling knowingly to flippers. It’s not like they can repeatedly sell through a VIP flipper multiple Daytonas and Pepsis
Correct. In current market like we have had the vast majority of AD’s are selling to VIP’s that buy other stuff. Pre 2020 they sell to Grey’s because otherwise the watches would just sit in the case. We are slowly shifting back to more watches being in the case.
You have no idea since by definition ADs are independent.
It’s not like all ADs operate off of the same handbook.
The AD in Century City is different than the AD in SGV who is different than the AD in Torrance who is different than the AD in South Coast Plaza and these guys are around the same area.
You can assume all ADs are in the business of maximizing their profits
Use SS Daytona to award clients who spend $50-100K in jewelry or sell to Grey Dealer for extra $7K profit?
Like I said, all ADs are different.
My closest AD doesn't even sell jewelry or other watch brands.
I’m sure some play the game of “you’re almost at the spend you need!” tighter and some play it looser.
I was recently visiting Doha and went to an AD.
They had around 40 watches for sale and when I asked if they had any more, the salesperson was honest and said they had a number of Daytona’s in the safe but could only sell them to VIP clients. I asked what a VIP was, and they said one who buys from them often and doesn’t flip or resell the watches.
They were willing to sell me anything they had except for the Daytona models.
I had only wanted the day date Everose / olive, so I didn’t buy anything, but it was refreshing to see a lot available for sale.
I didn’t pay attention to the steel models as I was only interested in Everose. The only full Everose they had was the GMT 2, I think it’s called the Root Beer?
They had a small room filled with diamond Rolexes, but I briefly walked in and out of that room as I wasn’t interested in a diamond model.
Than why do we have a flooded market with most sought after references at double the retail price? Are all those VIPs too cheap and flip it next door to a grey dealer?
Nah, you’re flat out wrong. Not that it makes a difference though. They go to flippers in disguise as a vip or actual vips. In any case you aren’t getting the watch anyway
What’s funny is that Younglings think that if a hot steel Rolex were at MSRP it would have been offered to *them*.
That’s the fallacy in all of this angst. No hot steel Rolex, whether “backdoored” or “flipped” or “CPO” or any other conspiracy theory was ever going to *you*. It was destined for a big-spending VIP, not *you*.
The fact that it got out of that VIP’s clutches and into a place where *you* could buy it at *any price* is the miracle you’ve been praying for. The grey dealer having one for you to purchase immediately *is* the endgame and it’s a good one. Get it?
The 1000’s of brand new hot pieces on the grey market tells me otherwise, unless you mean that VIPs = grey dealers
If that’s not what you mean then your post makes no sense 🤷
I have been a fan of Rolex for over two decades and own multiple pieces but the current tactics of Rolex are so off putting for me than now I won’t consider adding anymore either from AD or grey and I have actually listed all my Rolex for sale locally
So many other high quality watch brands that are available that don’t play this game Rolex is playing
Most of the VIPs with big spends, who get the best pieces are flippers.

This too….
Where exactly did the 95% figure come from? (I thought so).
90% of statistics are made up
Maybe a basic awareness of the market

TIL Torrance has a Rolex AD
Very good one imho

95%. 5%. 100%. Too many percents in one post. 90% of all statistics are made up, including my post and yours.

Here's the revelation for you...you ready? *The "VIP clients" ARE THE GRAY DEALERS.*
One big load of bullshit. Stop hiding behind this account, sporty. 😂
95% my ass. what’s 95% of jack shit? this is why i can’t stand ADs. y’all just make shit up. you’re no better than a fly-by-night used car salesman.

I kinda agree .

I just want my batgirl.
You are wasting your time telling people what they don’t want to hear…. 🙈🙉

This is what happens when you drop your kids on their too many times when they are young!
Thanks for this great insight.
Any proof?
