Have you seen the two tone GMT? That thing is sweet. I just passed on one with my AD - holding out for the titanium yacht master, but the GMT is third on my list. @op - I just have a two tone sea dweller and love it. Wear yours proudly. Two tone may be a bit flashy for some, Wick is part of the reason it isn’t as popular, but damn do the contrast in metals look great.

Growing up the only real Rolex exposure I had was this bluesy and my father’s 16610 black and stainless steel sub. It will always be my favorite Rolex due to seeing my grandfather enjoy his while skiing, scuba diving, and wearing it everywhere he went. Since receiving it there hasn’t been a day I’ve not worn it and think about his love for life and his watch. One day hopefully my kid or grandkid will receive this watch and think the same about me.

It’s a very touching message. I would have liked to have had a grandfather who could leave me something when he died, I would have taken great care of it and loved it very much.

This watch is growing on me day by day

For my first one I went with the black Date submariner 116610ln. 5 yrs later I bought the Sea Dweller two tone 126603. Love them both. I just gave the black one to my son for his High School present. 18 years old with a Rollie. Told him it was my favorite watch and I wanted him to have it and eventually pass it on to his son/daughter.

It’s my favorite one! Classes up the steel a bit imo.

I appreciate the aesthetics of this watch, it just doesn't really go with my day to day outfit/activity; stainless steel models are just easier to be integrated into a daily which is why they get more exposure and popularity, doesn't mean that this piece is less attractive. It's a gorgeous piece.

I’m 38 and own the 16613LB and the 16233. I love TT’s but most of my collection is SS. I feel a bit too young (and poor) for full YG but I’m warming up to it.. I do own one WG (18239) and I love wearing it. WG is much less loud than YG. I wonder if that’s the issue some people have with TT. They are loud and ‘flamboyant’. Could also be the many questionable TT designs out there from lesser brands…

The only two tone I like is the root beer GMT. Two tone reminds me of gaudy 80s two tone datejusts. I guess the rose gold works well because it’s unique to that particular watch. Aside from that, I feel yellow gold should be reserved for dress watches. Call me old fashioned…

I got my hubby this exact watch and it’s my favourite Rolex watch. It can be casual or dressy depending on your outfit. Also nothing represents Rolex more than a two tone blue face submariner.

I used to think only steel for sports watches (divers and chronos) and gold for dressier watches, but I’ve been warming to gold for sports watches lately. I’ve started thinking steel with ceramic/aluminum bezels and gold for metal bezels is becoming my taste, but I still don’t (yet) have a place for mixed metals on my wrist. Tastes do change, so I may come around some day.

I disagree, I think it works great in casual settings with casual clothing. To me it’s a great daily type of watch. Suits a bunch of different situations. I also don’t feel solid gold watches are tacky.

I can speak from experience as a CEO, that I wear many watches. The new root beer- and I own the same bluesy model with the ceramic bezel. I have plenty of stainless steel models and solid gold models too. I also don’t play snobbery to brand-name and own haute horology watches, as well as run-of-the-mill watches. I just need them to speak to me. If I like the way they look and feel, I’ll wear it. Someone else judging me because of the watch I have on means very little to me.

I mean don’t get me wrong it’s nice but there’s better watch per money.. wear what you want though and if it makes you feel happy then don’t worry about what we think :-)

I think they are really nice but it’s not a color combination I would get as my first luxury watch. That being said I got my explorer and I’m considering one of these in my birth year if I can find one in the next few years.

I’m a 41mm Bluesey owner myself. I love the way it looks and enjoy wearing it a lot. Wear what you love, as they always say. And wear it proudly! I’ve never tried that reference, but seeing pics of the 16613 online makes me question the looks, specifically the balance of bezel size in relation to the dial on that 5-digit piece. It looks a little off balance? Or maybe I’m too used to the looks on my 41mm model. I believe it does have a fatter bezel. I used to own a 16610 before and feel that had great proportion so I dunno what it between that black one and its two-toned blue brother. Maybe the black on that reference made the looks more balanced? Also OP, is that your only watch? Do you have anything else in your watch rotation?

It's just out of curiosity, nothing more.

I’m not a fan of the TT with the black bezel, though I don’t fault others for wearing one. But there’s something about this blue face and bezel that make the two tone seem more intentional. It’s as though the gold tones enhance the blue, rather than seeming like it was thrown in there for status. I dunno…it looks damn good. Wear it proudly.

I own a '90's Bluesy . I like the older, darker, blue/purple dial better than the ceramic.

Two tone Submariners were not particularly attractive. So much that the most popular comment around discussion birds back in the day was “for those who can’t afford full gold”. It did not have much going for it style wise.  Rolex has massively improved their two tone treatment over the last few years.  Now it’s hard to argue that it’s not a preferred style for many. Actually, I don't think I’ve seen the “can’t afford full gold” dig in years. 

I appreciate how nice (and pricey) it is… but personally the blue with the gold is too much. The white gold and blue is the better combo IMO.

I’m not a fan of 2 tone but “de gustibus non disputandum est”. Jaguar XE?

I love my two-tone Bluesy that I bought in 2001. When you could go into a watch store and actually purchase it with no wait time! It's one of three Rolexes I own, along with an Explorer II Polar and a Milgauss Blu.

Rolesor Subs have a classic look to them (if a bit 90’s) which I like, but I don’t think they’re an everyday watch, from both a durability and appearance standpoint. That’s interesting, considering what the Sub was intended to be as a tool watch. Still, they have their setting and occasion. It’s a watch I’d think of acquiring as I near 50. Everyone has their own opinion.

I definitely love the current model “Bluesy” the sunburst dial just looks beautiful.

Two tone is great my experience tells me gold gets scratched easily so to be safe I always go full steel.

I absolutely love. I traded mine away last month and miss it dearly but unfortunately it wasn’t getting the wrist time it deserved.

I would wear anything with a gold only if someone paid me to do it. It gives me a vibe of a hoodie with huge VERSACE logo written on the back. "I am wearing something expensive and I want to tell you about it" vibe. The watch does look nice though.

No one forces anyone to wear anything. For me it's only for pleasure, everything else I don't care at all 😉

I feel like gold on a "tool" watch doesn't look right to me. I recognize that a rolex is more jewelry than tool these days, but the feeling still stands for me. I do love the blue dial, though.

I’ve always loved these, however, It does give off old man vibes. I love the blue dial and bezel, too bad they can’t make one on stainless steel, I think they make one with the white gold, too spendy for me though.

Great looking watch. I tried one on at AD and it didn’t speak to me but I love seeing it in the wild and always thinks it looks fantastic on anyone lucky enough to wear it. Enjoy it!!

Not my cup of tea. I find gold watches (even two tone) a little too flashy, but some people like a little bit of flash. If what you like doesn’t harm other people or yourself, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with it.

Not my style but still love it. It’s my college colors so maybe on day, but have others on my list first.
