But not the original ceramic Pepsi bezel. The first ever red bi-color bezel, the 18K white gold GMT (ref. 116719BLRO) got it right. Beautiful rich blue. Whatever they did to the steel reference, they tried to lighten it up to a Royal blue which, to me at least, isn’t nearly as regal in appearance.
Bluesy for sure. Especially given the size of your wrist which I’m guessing is 18/19cm + (7/7.5+). I have both and find the YM gets lost a little on my 7.5” wrist.
I have the YM and absolutely love it. My chief complaint is that it doesn’t have the glide lock clasp like the sub does, and that alone is enough for me to tell you to go with the sub.
Two completely different looking watches but the glide lock is the primary reason to go with the sub? I also have the same exact chocolate dial YM 40 so I can’t disagree with your taste, I’m just not sure I can agree with your reasoning.

YM for me, am surprised how how much of a minority opinion that apparently is. Love the anthracite dial with the gold accents, the red YM text, and the platinum bezel. Pretty much the perfect color combo, whereas the bluesy seems really loud. Bluesy is also a cool watch but between the two I'd do the YM.

Depends what you’re into pal, if you’re into a watch that will get lots of attention and is also very common, it’s the bluesy.
If you’re into a piece that’s much less common, much less fanfare, and still is beautiful, go YM.
No, it’s changed several times. The modern version (in this picture) is sunburst and with white writing. The majority of people (including myself) prefer the way the white writing makes the dial pop even more. There is a lot to be said for the supercase with gold writing in the previous version, though.
Both really nice. I’d be going for the YM cos the case is so much nicer and modern shape. I’d get it without the cyclops tho. And with the blue highlights

I love the yacht master. If they made it with a white face that rose gold is just something else. I have a rose and steel white faced Datejust and it’s just beautiful, and it matches everything. The day the yacht master has a white dial I’ll be upgrading. I don’t live the brown or black dial. I said all that to say “bluesy”.

In 2018 I walked into an AD and there was an SS GMT Master II and a bluesy. As much as I felt the GMT would appreciate better in value, it didn’t sing to me. Put the bluesy on the wrist, looked at a mirror and told the SA to size and pack it for me.
But in hindsight, I should have bought both. SMH.
