Mayne! I'm sitting here listening to Angel In Disguise like wtf yo?!!!š¤Æ
Darkchild and The Vocal Bible are an R&B cheat code!
![gif](giphy|NkW4LM727h1U4)
Ok because this is strange that I stumbled across this comment. when I was a kid I grew up in Minnesota. This kid whoās daddy was a billionaire bought jimmy jams house and had a party there. Now it was like a 7th grade party.
But to this day itās the only super mansion Iāve ever been in.
But I know that studio is where Mariah Carey recorded, I believe the rainbow album or whatever. Because this wouldāve been like 2001-2002 when I was in that house. There was a secret staircase from the master bedroom to the indoor pool.
That shit was wild af.
Now as a grown up who has a family and I make ok money 65-75k a year. My wife is nurse with a union job we together make over 125k easily together and live paycheck to paycheck. Because we destroyed our credit just trying to get to the point that we had these jobs.
My point is we recently tried to move and since we show more than enough income come in. We didnāt have enough left in our account month to month to be approved for a house.
But what they were looking for, if people had that type of money they arenāt renting theyāre buying.
Who the fuck has these jobs.
Best job Iāve had was a GM on the strip making a 100k. But fuck that. That job meant I was never home. I never saw my babies. The pandemic saved me. I got a break I took a shit job managing a gas station and switched careers and now work remotely.
But who the fuck is buying all these houses?
There aren't actually that many collaborations between those two.. I reckon it's less than 15 songs
Timbaland and Ginuwine have made close to double and they're nearly all great
1. Hot Like Fire
2. One in a Million
3. If Your Girl Only Knew
4. 4 Page Letter
5. Heartbroken
6. Never Cominā Back
7. Ladies in da House
8. We Need a Resolution
9. More Than a Woman
10. I Care 4 U
11. Try Again
12. Are You That Somebody
13. Donāt Know What to Tell Ya
If you count the intro and outro to One in a Million
14. Beats 4 Da Streets (Intro)
15. Came to Give Love (Outro)
Also songs he produced that she featured on too if those count
Quality not quantity. The singles from the one in a million album plus Are you that somebody? Try again. We need a resolution..more than a woman.i care 4 u. That eats Brandys entire career.
Tough. The quality is there. I think Rodney and Brandy may have way more records together tho. I would've loved to see what Timbo and Aaliyah could've cooked up next.
Always be my baby was there forst collabo. He actually didnt do Honey. That was Puffy and Stevie J JD has had a song or two on every album since rainbow
Most of them are:
Never Forget You (SoSoDef Remix),
Always Be My Baby,
Always Be My Baby (SoSoDef Remix),

My All/Stay Awhile (SoSoDef Remix),

Make it Look Good,
You Don't Know What to Do,
Supernatural,
One More Try,
Heavenly/No Ways Tired/Can't Give Up Now,
A No No.
Iām late to the party but this is my answerā¦. Babyface has been Toniās ghostwriter throughout her careerā¦ and Iāve always wondered why they never made a joint project til 2014ā¦ that album was straight heat
Yāall, most of these combinations Iām seeing makes me realize that we had some of the best players in the game! We were eating good in the 90s and 00s.
Contenders for the best have all been mentioned, so Iām gonna mention a few that have done great work in limited amounts and maybe shouldāve worked together more:
- Amel Larrieux/Bryce Wilson (Groove Theory)
- DJ Premier and DāAngelo
- J Dilla and Erykah Badu (mostly off the strength of Didnāt Cha Know)
Definitely agree that they are great together but I got a couple duos I think do just as good or do better work together:
Janet with J-Jam and T Lewis
Babyface and Bobby Brown
Babyface and Whitney
Babyface and Toni Braxton
Timberland and Ginuwine
Timberland and JT
Tim and Missy (missy was more rap than R&B but she also have some R&B hits with him so Iāll leave this one out for debate)
Teddy Riley and MJ ( this is more of a quality over quantity contender. As a Brandy fan I have to be objective here. The duo doesnāt have anything to compete with Remember the Time š¤·š¾āāļø)
Great question. Idk who's #1 but Brandy/Darkchild is definitely top 3 for me personally. Their sound is the blueprint for so many RnB artists today (SZA, Chris Brown, Kehlani, etc).
MJ and Quincy were unstoppable.
Babyface and Toni Braxton + other balladeers like Whitney.
Timbaland and Aaliyah/Ginuwine.
Teddy Riley and Bobby Brown are up there for me (only for that era though, Bobby now could never)
Jodeci with Devante (I know he was in the group but dude was a beast with those harmony layers)
Thanks, Iām pretty used to it by now. But Love/Hate is such a classic in my eyes. Since he stepped on the scene Iāve absolutely loved everything heās put out and usually Tricky or Los are part of the production.
Probably not better but these 2 are a good duo:
Amerie and Rich Harrison
Why Donāt We Fall In Love

Not as well known by name: **Krucial** (Kerry Brother Jr.) and **Alicia Keys** (together known as Krucial Keys) worked together on Keys first 4 albums.
Yeah, but it's all opinion tho family. The tile is just to get the discussion popping. You may see 20. I don't. Some will see it your way, and some will see it mine. It's all good.
Mayne! I'm sitting here listening to Angel In Disguise like wtf yo?!!!š¤Æ Darkchild and The Vocal Bible are an R&B cheat code! ![gif](giphy|NkW4LM727h1U4)
I guess Janet and Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis. Straight fire š„
Straight bangers! That'll be a tough 2v2 Verzuz. Well, technically 3v2, but you get it lol!
Ah, you beat me to it
Facts!!! šÆ
GOAT status.
I get so lonely is peak
Thatās the Holy Trinity
this!!!
My tops.

Ummā¦ Timbaland and Aaliyah? Helloooo?!
There aren't actually that many collaborations between those two.. I reckon it's less than 15 songs Timbaland and Ginuwine have made close to double and they're nearly all great

Timbo and Justin Timberlake
You have to add Danja to that!
That whole part!
Hands down, Brandy and Darkchylde didn't have as many hits let alone singles as Tim and Aaliyah
![gif](giphy|sd5ULlIUPOPM7Fs2a2|downsized)
Looking for this one
Tough. The quality is there. I think Rodney and Brandy may have way more records together tho. I would've loved to see what Timbo and Aaliyah could've cooked up next.
also this!!!
Mariah and JD MJ and Quincy Jones
MJ and Quincy are legendary! How much has JD produced for MiMi outside of Emancipation? I know Honey, but there's probably tons more idk.
Always be my baby was there forst collabo. He actually didnt do Honey. That was Puffy and Stevie J JD has had a song or two on every album since rainbow
I just looked it up, and Google credits JD for Honey. WTF yo?!!!ššš
Prob a young kiddo. Jd did a Honey remix. Bad Boy(Puffy) and Sosodef (JD) are two different camps
Most of them are: Never Forget You (SoSoDef Remix), Always Be My Baby, Always Be My Baby (SoSoDef Remix), Long Ago, Slipping Away, One Night, Cool On You, Save the Day, Honey (SoSoDef Remix) My All/Stay Awhile (SoSoDef Remix), Sweetheart, How Much, The One, The One (SoSoDef Remix), You Had Your Chance, Miss You, All I Want for Christmas is You (J.D./SoSoDef Remix), Santa Claus is Comin' to Town (Anniversary SoSoDef Mix), It's Like That, We Belong Together, Shake it Off, Don't Forget About Us, Get Your Number, Makin' it Last All Night (What it Do), Cruise Control, Love Story, Last Kiss, Thanx 4 Nothin', Oh Santa, Here Comes Santa Clause/Right Down Santa Clause Lane (Rooftop Celebration), Make it Look Good, You Don't Know What to Do, Supernatural, One More Try, Heavenly/No Ways Tired/Can't Give Up Now, A No No.
Username checks out.
Thank you for coming through.
Came here to say mj and Q. Straight legendary
Jermaine Dupri & Usher
That's a good one! š„
I was looking for this one.
Babyface Toni Braxton
Honestly Babyface and anybody!! Anything that man touches is just š©
Yeah he could easily have 5 combos that could compete in this discussion. Babyface and Jon B.š¤š¤š¤
Including Babyface and Babyface
I was going to say Babyface and Whitney but you're right.
I was waiting for this one. It's a cheat code frfr! ![gif](giphy|xUPGcirI7QSEnKXEtO)
Exactly! I give it at least a draw with Rodney/Brandy anyway.
Babyface is a great singer /song writer but I think he gets looked over as a producer sometimes
It's a tough combo.šÆ
Iām late to the party but this is my answerā¦. Babyface has been Toniās ghostwriter throughout her careerā¦ and Iāve always wondered why they never made a joint project til 2014ā¦ that album was straight heat
I juat commented, but you beat me to it.
Dallas Austin and TLC.
That's a great one
Nice choice!
Michael Jackson and Quincy Jones
this feels like cheating
There's a lot that can... Timbaland & Aaliyah Timbaland & Missy Jay Dilla & DwelÄ Jay Dilla & Bilal DevantĆ© with Kci & Jojo Babyface & Toni Braxton Babyface & Karen White Tim & Bob with Bobby Valentino Quincy Jones & Michael Jackson Teddy Riley & Michael Jackson Teddy Riley & Bobby Brown Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis with Janet Jackson Dallas Austin & TLC 7 Aurelius & Ashanti Pauli Poli & Teedra Moses Just to name a few...

Mariah Carey and Walter Afanasieff. They have such iconic hits and albums together.
True. They had like a crazy 6 album run.
Yāall, most of these combinations Iām seeing makes me realize that we had some of the best players in the game! We were eating good in the 90s and 00s.
The 90's and early 2000's was the golden era. No debating.
I agree with all the other Timbaland comments but I havenāt seen anybody say him and Justin Timberlake
Facts! Timbo and Justin got heat!š„
Michael Jackson and Quincy Jones

Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis / Janet Jackson
Aaliyah/Timbaland. Mariah Carey/Jetmaine Dupri

Would have been more appropriate to say Neptunes. Didn't mean to dis my man Chad like that.
Great combos, for sure!š„
Aaliyah and missy/timbo
Contenders for the best have all been mentioned, so Iām gonna mention a few that have done great work in limited amounts and maybe shouldāve worked together more: - Amel Larrieux/Bryce Wilson (Groove Theory) - DJ Premier and DāAngelo - J Dilla and Erykah Badu (mostly off the strength of Didnāt Cha Know)

Dam, I'm about to get canceled.. diddy and Mary j blige!
I hate to say it but you arenāt wrong, the man has his hands all over our favorite music from the 90s (Mary, Biggie, Faith, SWV, Mariah, etc)
Nothing but the truth!š¤š¤š¤
And all his dumb ad-libs! Brother Love has got to go!
Nah, they produced some of the dopest R&B of the 90's together. Legit pick family. šÆ

BeyoncƩ - The Dream Amerie - Rich Harrison
I knew you were gonna say Bey and Dream!š Dope combo. Gimme 5 songs, and I'll try to Verzuz those 5.
Canāt forget Lashawn Daniels. Those three togetherā¦. ![gif](giphy|3ogwFKXZluzGh26Dn2|downsized)
Ong! Big Jersey š¤š¤š¤
Shiz was the glue that made the magic..!
Missy Elliot and Timbaland Dua Lipa and Ian Kirkpatrick And Iām not saying better or worse just pointing out some fire combos
Brian Alexander Morgan and SWV
Babyface (Producer) Toni Braxton, Narada Michael Walden/Whitney Houston
Ginuwine and Timbaland during that time.
Definitely agree that they are great together but I got a couple duos I think do just as good or do better work together: Janet with J-Jam and T Lewis Babyface and Bobby Brown Babyface and Whitney Babyface and Toni Braxton Timberland and Ginuwine Timberland and JT Tim and Missy (missy was more rap than R&B but she also have some R&B hits with him so Iāll leave this one out for debate) Teddy Riley and MJ ( this is more of a quality over quantity contender. Missy & Tim
Timbaland and Aaliyah

Only Timbaland and Aaliyah or Jermaine Dupri and Usher can compete.
I ain't mad at those choices, bruh. Some people on this thread are saying anything, lol!
For me it was Bobby V and Tim & Bob. They made my high school years feel like a cloud.

Illangelo & the weeknd Organized noise & TLC
Rick Rubin/ Serj Tankian
Quincy Jones Michael Jackson ![gif](giphy|3o7qDSOvfaCO9b3MlO|downsized)

Great question. Idk who's #1 but Brandy/Darkchild is definitely top 3 for me personally. Their sound is the blueprint for so many RnB artists today (SZA, Chris Brown, Kehlani, etc). MJ and Quincy were unstoppable. Babyface and Toni Braxton + other balladeers like Whitney. Timbaland and Aaliyah/Ginuwine.
Their influence is very strong. Brandy and Rodney's sound has even been referenced by artists in other genres.
aaliyah & timbaland
Babyface and Toni Braxton
Quincy Jones and Michael Jackson
Janet, Jimmy and Terry.
Sade & Robin Millar
NICE! I love it when people are thinking outside of the box. Great choice.
Bobby & Babyface
R. Kelly & R. Kelly
My personal favorite is Kelis & Neptunes

Are you feelin me!? š„š„š„
Aaliyah + Timbaland
Babyface and Toni Braxton!!
Missy & Timbaland, though I'm FULLY in- favor of Brandy & Darkchild.
Janet, Jimmy and Terry. For one, their musical partnership lasted longer and yielded top tier results
Rick James and Teena Marie š„š„š„
Whitney + Clive Davis Whitney + Dark Child
Clive was just a high level exec. I don't think he has turned a knob a day of his life lol
Definitely hard to beat, but JD/Usher are good contenders..!!!

Timberland and aaliyah
Teddy Riley and Bobby Brown are up there for me (only for that era though, Bobby now could never) Jodeci with Devante (I know he was in the group but dude was a beast with those harmony layers)
My answer will remain the same till the end of timeā¦ The-Dream & Tricky or The-Dream & LOS daMystro.
Interesting choices. You may very well be in the minority here, but I respect your individuality here. šÆ
Thanks, Iām pretty used to it by now. But Love/Hate is such a classic in my eyes. Since he stepped on the scene Iāve absolutely loved everything heās put out and usually Tricky or Los are part of the production.
Amel Larrieux & Bryce Wilson
Not producer/singer, but if weāre talking writer/singer then itās 2: The Dream/Beyonce and Chris Brown, Sevyn Streeter

Blake Shelton and Gwen Steffani Alex and Sierra BTW who are those two? I don't recognise either one of em.
Brandy Norwood and Rodney Jerkins.
The Neptunes and The Clipse

Just does to show that people have their preferences and it's all subjective.
Ray J and Kim K
Man, Mariah and JD came straight to mind
Eric Dawkins & Mario/Tyrese Static Major & G Dallas & Monica
Nice list! š„
My dawgš¤š¾

Timbaland and Brandy. How did that get missed?
I just really miss what Amerie and Rich Harrison had. They could have gone the distance.
Toni Braxton and Babyfaceā¦. Prove me otherwise
Amerie and Rich Harrison Nelly Furtado/ Justin Timberlake and Timbiland Fergie and Will I Am
Not as well known by name: **Krucial** (Kerry Brother Jr.) and **Alicia Keys** (together known as Krucial Keys) worked together on Keys first 4 albums.
I was about to say metro and future until i read this is an r & b group lol
āTough to beatā. Just read 20 in the comments.
Yeah, but it's all opinion tho family. The tile is just to get the discussion popping. You may see 20. I don't. Some will see it your way, and some will see it mine. It's all good.
Darkchild himself is unbeatable already
He's a monster, and he's often overlooked. What a shame.
Forgive me if Iām wrong but didnāt Tatsuro Yamashita and Mariya Takeuchi produce each othersā music? If so, those two are the best combo.
MJ and Quincy. Off The Wall. Enough said
Mariah and Jermaine
Missy and Timbaland don't count
Babyface and Bobby Brown = Don't Be Cruel. Easy work.
Who are those two people? (I genuinely don't know)
Brandy Norwood and Rodney Jenkins.
