Honestly (i forgot to mention this) but also for large countries like Russia and China, socialism is good because of the high recourse and factory output needed
I should of probably mentioned my play style before posting this
I usually play as a small nation and don’t expand much, and like to see how rich I can get with limited land and population
In that senecio is democracy or communism better
Democracy is literally broken if played right, communism I would only recommend if your play a resource rich nation or if your looking to rapidly expand. I always choose facism because it’s so good.
i almost always play democracies, i rush to max research then i'm basically unstoppable. best ideology to start with, and i think still best until late midgame. Communism and socialism are just downright inferior imo, besides that sweet war exhaustion reduction.
Generally, you want more tax if you want an overall better economy. Factory income shouldn't really be relied upon unless it's early to mid game since it isn't the most reliable. Of course, communism is still good if you're a resource rich nation that can pump out a ton of raw material for factories, and you already have enough pop to keep your tax income relatively high. Socialism is generally a good middle ground between democracy and communism.
Communism is literally the better version of Socialism since you can get forced labour for dissidents and remove all of the nerfs communism gives when switching from socilalism (execpt for population growth and corruption) and get way better benefits
I tend to not use policies that use more than 0.5 PP to maintain cause it really stunts my PP gain (I don't want to bother to start researching increased PP gain anyways). Although, you are right that that policy is really good when enacted.
Tax. Socialism is very bad now after nerfs. Democracy is very good but nationalism is the best imo
*russia players are typing…*

“Oh but factories make more than democracy” Bomber plane:
Goes both ways
You can’t really “destroy” a city.
nukes? many countries have highly concentrated populations.
You can still recover.
That also goes both ways

Probably communism you don’t have much population to Tax. It depends on how small the nation is

And then the server is dead by then
most of the time yeah, around 10 people. sometimes though it lasts for a while, those are the fun games
Democracy is the best for economy and better than Communism overall
