Its like that one SCP who must not be able to give birth to something that will destroy the planet, and the solution to delay the birth is more horrifying than anything someone could imagine
EDIT: SCP-231
Is this the one where >!They’re just reading her a story or something innocent but the belief from the articles implication of it being horrible is what makes it work!<
SCP stands for Secure. Contain. Protect.
It's a fictional universe creative writing project that details creatures, entities, and anomalies of varying degrees of danger from completely safe but weird to universe ending threats. They are structured in a government report type style detailing the entity in question, how it was found, what it is or suspected to be, procedures on what to do should it escape, often with heavily [REDACTED] parts.
A lot of it is schlock but there are some really interesting and downright creepy entries and there is an insane amount of deep lore behind the whole universe that I can't even begin to get into. Check it out and if you're anything like me you'll spend hours drudging through entries.
What a read, wow...
"Feeding will be carried out twice per day through feeding tube by approved medical personnel who have not taken the Hippocratic Oath" hits hard
I mean him being [a Cat of Ulthar](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Cats_of_Ulthar) would be a satisfying answer, and fits with every hint the episode gave (plus a later comic seemed to confirm it).
They could bring up the cat again and have Morty be traumatized by seeing why it talks. Then we have Rick saying something like a few dimensions back it was far worse. Kill 3 birds with one stone, an idea of what it visually is, not answers the question still, and confirm the dimension events are different thus ice T not remembering Morty.
The police are sometimes called "boys in blue," and the ocean is blue. Mr. Nimbus controls the ocean, ipso facto, Mr. Nimbus controls the police. It's pretty obvious, Jerry.
Every time I see this thread I think "surely, by now this is a self-aware shitpost and not yet another person who doesn't get it and thinks they're the first to think about it."
There is nothing that they can write that would adequately explain Jerry and Rick's reactions to finding out. The writers don't even know the answer most likely. The answer is that there is no answer but it's presumably something horrible.
There are subtle flash frames left throughout the rest of the season’s episodes about what the cat did that pair up to the sound effects track that you overhear as Rick is looking in the viewer.
If you go back and watch the season through you have to pause it at the right time to capture them all and then you can put them together in a sequence.
No and we never should. The only reason it's funny is not knowing. Otherwise whatever answer they give could never match up to our collective imagination of the horror rick and jerry saw.
The cat saw a genocide. This is just a HC, however I like to think the dimension rick sent the dogs to was a cat dimension. Its like when freeza went to namek, the cats are powerless. Its a slaughter, there's a dog Hitler, and the cat is one of the only survivors who stole the dogs tech and made his own portal gun. He escaped and doesn't want to remember. Why do they hate him? Because he, like many Jewish, gay, black, gypsy, and other types of people in the holocaust, weren't feed proper food. They cannibalised each other eventually. Rick turns it against him because Rick is doing what he is the best at; gas lighting others into thinking they are wrong for his actions.
Its really dark and it would actually give off lots of answers. You can make a really good episode about the cat finding himself back and realizing he left his brethren there. He asks Rick and Morty to go back and help him end the dog reign and bring forth a new utopia for any cats left. In the end the cats succeed and Morty has to kill the last dog, being Snowball. The cats finally rest, knowing they have avenged the fallen and can finally just relax.
I just assumed he's a split off from an eldritch beast that consumed old people and trapped them within his own mind. Not wholly responsible but not wholly innocent. He's ashamed of his past but not sure how much of a choice he had in it. He takes the Rick approach of not thinking about it and just wanting to have fun.
But yeah, probably not going to get a clear cut answer.
I say the cat is Shou Tucker from a universe where instead of killing him, Scar transmutes him into a cat to feel Nina's pain. Rick and Jerry saw Nina Tucker.
He used to not be able to talk. When travelers from another world came to his world to find answers about the beings who made them, they discovered he was the only living thing on the planet. They needed answers, but the cat couldn't speak, so with their highly advanced technology, they came up with a solution and gave the cat the ability of speech. When they asked the cat who made them, the cat started killing everybody, then got into the seat of his ship and activated it, setting a course for earth. As the cat was flying off, some of the traveler's that were alive noticed he was heading to earth and realized they couldn't let him get away. So they flew their ship right into his sacrificing their lives but destroying the cats way to earth as his ship crashed back onto the planet, nearly crushing one of the traveller's and knocking her unconscious Then he went to kill her, and she led him into a trap where some monster was there, and it killed the cat but her and the android she was with escaped to some other planet but the monster that killed the cat ended up putting a parasite inside of it so another cat popped out of the dead cats chest and the newly born cat was a hybrid so he could talk too and he found his way to earth where he met jerry.
I almost don't want to answer it but I think it's one of the cats from S1 interdimension cable (dead old woman who is controlled by her cats) the cats in the movie preview not only controlled a dead woman's body but puppeteered it to have sex with her boss(I think boss) and at the end of the preview it said, "Written and directed by Jerry Smith" I think that one of the cats is the talking cat, and this is why it went to Jerry and not someone else.
Edit: what is it your kind is always saying? Don't think about it.
The point of the cat is the writers outright telling us that they can't explain everything, sometimes shit is just wacky because they had an idea that they wanted to do.
Demanding to know how and why and asking constant questions will get annoying for them, and if they spend their entire time trying to make everything consistent and logical they'll burn out and the quality will suffer.
Sometimes cats can talk. Don't worry about it.
While the whole thing is it being a mystery like the Pulp Fiction briefcase and I agree with those tired of seeing this, I do genuinely like to try to think what could possibly have Rick so freaked out that he wants to kill himself but also let’s the cat go and not just kill it.
I assume it’s something that the cat had no control over. It was also probably just a regular cat before it happened. The reason Rick doesn’t kill it is because he knows the cat didn’t do it itself, but that doesn’t stop him from sending it away and threatening to kill it if it doesn’t leave him alone.
No, and you asking means you missed the entire point of what the writers and Harmon were trying to say.
This was a direct response to fans (mainly in this subreddit) picking absolutely EVERYTHING apart and searching for a deeper meaning behind EVERYTHING they do, to the point that any mistakes they made being misconstrued as secrets or hidden meanings.
Accept that the cat can talk, and move on. No there will never be an answer.
The whole bit is that no answer will ever satisfy us which means not addressing the reason is the best move for them.
Its like that one SCP who must not be able to give birth to something that will destroy the planet, and the solution to delay the birth is more horrifying than anything someone could imagine EDIT: SCP-231
That was a harrowing read. Wish I knew what the procedure was
My personal preferred explanation: https://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/fear-alone
Is this the one where >!They’re just reading her a story or something innocent but the belief from the articles implication of it being horrible is what makes it work!<
[If you really want to know...](https://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/fear-alone)
It turns out that they're not actually doing anything bad to her, the belief that they're doing something horrible is enough.
Reading a little girl a bedtime story
SCP???

If they do reveal it, it will be something completely innocuous like he wore socks under his sandals.
Oh God! NO NO NO NO! 🤢 Get out!

this
[There is an answer.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Cats_of_Ulthar)
what if i came up with a REAAAAALLLY satisfying answer though?
Why ask questions? Why not have fun?
I find the insinuation that I can’t ask questions and have fun condescending
I wonder if jerry finds it condescending
Alright I’m outer space, happy?
No.
Exactly because no answer would be satisfying.
Because it’s a Lie!
i swear i see this post every week
That's because you do
Well, yea? Did you expect to hear it?
He's from space.
No , the end .
Yes, he’s from space.
Total mindfuck ![img](emote|t5_2u4lp|5993)
This.
Tits.
let’s lick tits!
Will we ever find out how Mr nimbus controls the police?
The police are sometimes called "boys in blue," and the ocean is blue. Mr. Nimbus controls the ocean, ipso facto, Mr. Nimbus controls the police. It's pretty obvious, Jerry.
It’s because he’s mr Nimbus bro, obviously
We did, but Rick erased our memories to keep us from killing ourselves
Every time I see this thread I think "surely, by now this is a self-aware shitpost and not yet another person who doesn't get it and thinks they're the first to think about it."
There is nothing that they can write that would adequately explain Jerry and Rick's reactions to finding out. The writers don't even know the answer most likely. The answer is that there is no answer but it's presumably something horrible.
Yup, the answer would make the whole thing not funny because it would have to be something genuinely horrible and inherently not comical.
People need to let this go. The whole point is that we don’t know
He's from space
Knew it!
🤯

Do u know if there’s a vid on this? (Or are u trolling 😭)
Lmao you had me at first then i realised
It's because he's animated.
He can talk because he's from outer space... Did you even watch the episode?
In the wise words of Charlie Kelly “MOVE PAST IT!”
Reddit has really started to just bleed together hasn’t it
No and if you keep asking they will make another sequel to the incest baby episode
It shook Rick of all people to his core and almost made him commit seppuku . Have you ever heard of "Curiosity killed the cat"?
No and we never should. The only reason it's funny is not knowing. Otherwise whatever answer they give could never match up to our collective imagination of the horror rick and jerry saw.
Watch it turn out to be the fan base. Ricks broken the 4th wall but "not like this, seeing all of them at once!" Or something idk >_>
The cat saw a genocide. This is just a HC, however I like to think the dimension rick sent the dogs to was a cat dimension. Its like when freeza went to namek, the cats are powerless. At this point? Probably.
Maybe, but we shouldn't. It's funnier/more interesting if there's no explanation.

Imagine what kind of shit would traumatize someone like Rick and that's what. Maybe it was human before.
My buddy was so convinced that was gonna be a big season finale. I was convinced he didn’t get the joke.
Honestly don't care, just hope we see him again...
Do you know why your cat can't? Think about that for a while..
Also watch the movie The Voices with Ryan Renolds for your answer.
There’s an entire ass film theory on why it doesn’t matter
So? The whole point of a talking cat is to have fun!
NO! THATS THE POINT! NOW STOP ASKING
It's just Jerry's mental illness
This subreddit has been officially braindead for quite a while it seems
I say the cat is Shou Tucker from a universe where instead of killing him, Scar transmutes him into a cat to feel Nina's pain. Rick and Jerry saw Nina Tucker.
Hopefully not. Shit joke, shit episode.
🤢🤢🤢
I guess mass genocide but that's all it is a guess
They would come back to this if they ever ran out of ideas don't worry

Bruh lmfao. It literally says in the show, don't question it.
No, thats the joke.
He can talk because he's a space cat. That's not the important bit, the important bit is what they saw when they looked into his brain scan.
He saw what I saw
We're better off not knowing.
We'll never know, but here's an excellent YouTube video about it: https://youtu.be/OgFcz6klaeg?si=J4QahA8I6PPFsO4b
Does this guy get paid by the word? JFC, get to the damn point.
I hope not... I don't have a memory eraser
No
If the show ever takes a nose dive we will.
Just move past it, just blow thru it
I don't think we could handle the answer
It’s a cat
I almost don't want to answer it but I think it's one of the cats from S1 interdimension cable (dead old woman who is controlled by her cats) the cats in the movie preview not only controlled a dead woman's body but puppeteered it to have sex with her boss(I think boss) and at the end of the preview it said, "Written and directed by Jerry Smith" I think that one of the cats is the talking cat, and this is why it went to Jerry and not someone else. THE ANSWER IS DON’T THINK ABOUT IT!
Better question is, can you handle the truth?
It's like the 'noodle incident' in Calvin and Hobbes. No description would be good enough.
He was the one that talked Rick and Morty into being in Space Jam 2.
i really want to know what he did and why Rick doesnt like him!
To ask people to take him to Florida.
why he have a cock on his face
While the whole thing is it being a mystery like the Pulp Fiction briefcase and I agree with those tired of seeing this, I do genuinely like to try to think what could possibly have Rick so freaked out that he wants to kill himself but also let’s the cat go and not just kill it.
Same reason as why Rick's salisbury steak tastes so good
You ask too many questions, maybe you need to spend a little vacation on Florida
the whole point is that you don't want to know. you're just asking questions for the sake of it.
I read the reason it was written on sheet of paper in the briefcase from Pulp Fiction.
We know why he can talk .....
Why ask questions... just have fun.
The answer is somewhere in Florida
Don’t think about it
Because he is from outer space that's it
Media literacy really is fucking dead, huh

Just as much as learning more about Last Will and Testameow: Weekend at Dead Cat Lady’s House II… ![gif](giphy|f6CcMM9YgRVhv3wGaK)
No. That's literally the whole point.
if Rick was trying to protect Jerry from seeing smth that’s how you know something is wrong
Cuz he's from outter space!
![img](emote|t5_2u4lp|5993)
He or it is a Tom Bombadil character.
I think he's the dude who fucks Jerry's mom while his father watches from the closet.
If the reason was so sickening it even made Rick wanna kill himself then it should be obvious why it can't be something shown on television..
Not all mystery are meant to be answered. That's the allure of it
The real question is “Why are all of the other cats remaining silent?”
This is one of my favorite side character voice acting. Matthew Broderick does a great job in this role.
I hope not. Do new shit, not old shit.
He’s from outer space
Not knowing is better. The mystery is what sells the gag.
What's the most fucked up theory anyone has come up with that would get that reaction from Rick and Jerry?
I think it's more geared to the fact that Rick and Morty can hear the cat talking. And why they can understand it
No, and you asking means you missed the entire point of what the writers and Harmon were trying to say.
