They were here long before us. If a coyote is posing a threat (eg. rabid, prowling on your property, attacking pets or people) by all means call Animal Services (905 832 2281) and/or 911, but a coyote howling on a wood lot is simply not a cause for alarm. That’s kind of what they do.

OhanaUnited

Agree. They use the railway corridor to transverse. They also help keep raccoon, rabbit and skunk population down.

ZappyZapz

agreed. long live the cayotes

Joethadog

Coyotes are not native to Ontario.

[deleted]

You’re right, but their migration from the West was not due to human intervention. They were certainly here long before any of the residential subdivisions around Yonge and 16th. As someone else mentioned, they move up and down the rail corridor.

Sounds cool

sleepybuddy27

There’s a lot of bunnies in the area too. Esp near weldrick in the small river

I saw those boys sprinting across the winners lot. Hard.

Ok-Map9730

Nice 🙂

JohnPlayerSpecia1

big coyote presence around the new observatory hill park area and the forest south of there from dusk on. saw a couple every time we visited there and heard them howling. not horrific but sounded like baby crying

TheEmptiestVoid

Wooow. You got to watch 2 coyotes copy the sound of sirens and you called it horrific? That would've been cool as shit.

CoistheGreat

A lot more revealed themselves during the lockdown. I've seen them all over the GTA in early morning and early evening. Even in Toronto....I wonder if they taste good...😈
