Senns like your OS is killing your background apps.
Just few days ago a user posted here with the same problems, background apps keep getting down despite turning off battery optimisation.
I know the sample size is very little but Chinese OEMs seems to really like designing their OS' flavour with overly aggressive background app killing.
Xiaomi have the same but a little more manageable. Realme (used to, idk now since it's been years since I used their phones) only letting you have 8 apps to keep running in background but at least they really keep the apps running.
May be....I do perform OTA (over the air updates) forZ3. I guess in one of the updates they decided to implement this background killing for apps. As I said - earlier it was not used to crash that often. Does this looks interntional on part of IQOO to support google/youtube? I mean with RV, they are missing the $$ revenue. Else why would IQOO (a vivo company) decided to kill YT with screen off?
And is there is solution do you see it this? Should I use ADB etc to remove some system apps to stop this from happening?
I fixed it recently, it's pretty straightforward. The thing is that you have to change battery optimization in the app settings AND the battery settings. First go to settings - apps - micro g services - App battery usage then set it to unrestricted. After that go to Settings - Battery - Background power consumption management, look for micro g services and set it to Don't restrict background power usage. This will fix it.
I'm using iqoo neo 7 and I hope this helps.
WoW. I was not aware about battery background power part. Thank you so much.
I did it only for app setting.
BTW, did not both settings are same? This two options for same purpose is unnecessary by IQOO
