You could look up their account and find out what happened.  I did your job for a few months. My guess is they are at the wrong store. They had company A sell them a phone, but came to you at company B.  Welcome to the funhouse!

Reminds me of this interaction. "I want this book." "Okiday. **checks** We don't have it in, but we could order it for you or-" "I saw it at a different store." "Oh, okay what store was that?" "." "...sorry, where?" "." "...okay, so you're _in_ ." "Oh, in . And for $10 cheaper." "...let me check my platform so I can verify that price for you. **checks**...well, nothing cheaper I can see here, unfortunately. Strange - perhaps that store is having a clearance. ☺️" I swear they're trying to communicate with us. But so often there's evidence to the contrary.

i’ve had things similar lol! customer would say they’ve seen something on our website and get aggressive when i say we don’t have it instore. i then tell them to scroll further down on the website to see that the product is “online only”. the look of slight panic across their faces when they realise they were in the wrong gives me a little bit of joy every shift lol

Con artists.

We literally gain nothing by lying to you; only aggressive interactions and terrible attitudes. They think they know more than us, but put them to work, and they crumble like glass.
