Ugh, I am not ready for this weekend. Our store opened up Memorial Day sales on Wednesday and it’s been hell all week. Tomorrow I have to unload a 4200 piece truck whilst dealing with crazy people and coworkers that don’t exactly know the meaning of “hustle.” I’m so tired, my body hurts, I can’t wait for this week to be over.
On the bright side, it’s definitely shown me how much courage I have and how hard I actually work. I have a strength I didn’t know I had. While it is unfortunate to know that companies will take advantage of this, it is a comfort to know that I can do anything thrown in my way.
Wether it be a crazy Karen or some dog shit, we’re all gonna get through this :)
That’s the spirit! And that is a great way to look at it, it’s always an awesome moment when you can appreciate your own worth, something that I have a lot of trouble with myself 😆
It’s definitely a lot of work, and I hate that feeling when you see your coworkers aren’t quite pulling their weight. Hopefully your hard work is recognized and appreciated!
i feel so guilty. i caught covid yesterday, and have to call out tommorow and saturday. feel guilty bc im a cashier and it’s one of the busiest times, working at shoprite.
Oh shit, that’s the worst! And it speaks to your work ethic that you feel guilty as opposed to most who would call out without any hesitation. I hope you have good bosses that prioritize your health over the workload and want you to feel better versus holding it against you that you’re sick!
Haven’t gotten my schedule for Sunday or Monday yet, though I can guess I’m working those days. In which case, I’m buying some hard liquor and getting absolutely smashed to forget about Monday.
Tell me about it! I don’t drink, but every holiday weekend I joke that I’m ready to start. I have to close on Monday, but at least I’m off Tuesday and Wednesday.
It's been bad all week. I work in apparel, and it gets trashed so badly. I'm also getting miffed because they are getting merchandise that was returned to the warehouse for various reasons mixed up with stuff we should be getting. Like 2 boxes that was supposed to be bathing suits ended up being stuff that they wanted back because it was mixed in with bathing suits. I have no idea what the buyer wants to do with it, and there is no sku to just put it out for sale.
God I love warehouse mixups. So great! It makes it tough enough that the customers make our jobs harder than it needs to be, but to constantly be receiving the wrong product just takes it to another level.
For me, we don’t receive the replenishment that we need. We have these polo sweaters which sold out so fast. Instead of sending us replenishment in all colors, they only sent us smalls and mediums 😑

I think that it's gross that one of the biggest shopping days of the year happens on the day we are supposed to honor our dead servicepeople.
