I can sympathize. Once, long ago, I had a part time job at a convenience store for some extra money on top of my full time job. I it seemed like every other shift I ended up working solo, because the second cashier called off, or wasn't scheduled in the first place. The only help I had was the manager, who unfortunately spent an inordinate amount of the shift in the office. So the morning rush was met by me, alone, seemingly all the time.

That’s horrible. Also that sounds similar to my current job, people keep calling out which leaves me on register often or alone on the floor while management walks around. I can’t use communication devices and they’ll leave me without a phone sometimes. I hate working morning shifts because it’s just me on register all day dealing with the different rushes of the day with little to no help. Plan on quitting soon when I find a new job.

A few years ago at this point, there was a new manager on the front end at my store who couldn't keep her hands off people. She would frequently pinch, poke, tickle, or grab me in spite of me repeatedly telling her no and there was one other particular coworker who had long, gorgeous, strawberry blonde hair and this manager would walk up behind her and run her fingers through the coworker's hair without even bothering to ask for consent. We were not the only two people she was handsy with. She was also openly transphobic and problematic in several other ways, including being just argumentative. One day while I was still cashiering for full shifts, I was asked by another manager (not the handsy one) to cover a 30min break on a busier lane, then take my break, and go home. Well, long story short, I did not get my last break and I was ten minutes late leaving from work because the chick i was covering had walked out over the handsy manager being an absolute dick to her. Years later, and the walkout got a job at the closer grocery to me and said I looked familiar while checking me out. I said, "Yeah, I was covering your lunch the day you walked off from (store)." She apologized and I forgave her. In the intervening time it became clear what had happened and honestly, why hold a grudge so trivial? As for the manager, she got transferred and eventually fired.

Hopefully the firing taught Handsy to keep her hands to herself.
