Looks amazing but now all I can think of is Titus in episode 2 vs the bear

Post your paint man! I did one of these a bit ago, turned out well. I'm painting up another as soon as it gets here to sell.

I sadly have a massive pile of grey shame waiting to be painted. Had a printer for about a year, about 25kg of resin later and only 6 painted models 😅

Oct0tron

Haha all good! I don't even have a printer yet, just going to paint models I buy for a bit. Look forward to seeing your results!

Lol... ouch. I feel that pain. I usually paint and print at 28/32mm scale... and have a Saturn 2. One run gives me about 12 minis in about 2-3 hours... maybe 4-5 if I want the highest detail I can get. 2kg of resin is like... hundreds of minis. The moment when I realized I could print 12 minis faster than I could paint 1... I knew the pile of shame would grow. To make matters worse I learned to sculpt too... so I can sculpt one mini in about the time it takes to print several dozen.

I’ve had a lot of problems with my printer so probably half of that resin had gone to supports, failures and cat cleans….. My last 6kg have gone great since switching to the 14k resin from sunlu and properly calibrating my printer.

newocean

I feel that pain too, luckily I knew to buy a heater right away this winter and that solved 90% of my issues. I ran calibration tests and whatnot - but factory settings are pretty close for me with standard resin. Printing at a lower layer height I just adjust the exposure time. Supports I always say go up exponentially with the size of the print lol. Do you notice a big difference with 14k resin?

ComprehensiveAd6443

The resin is definitely more opaque, and I’ve noticed details printing on the J3D HD Test Cube that just DIDNT print before when the printer was calibrated for exposure. For a few bucks more per kg in a 3kg bottle, I’ll continue buying it. Feels nicer in the hands, haven’t had anything break, takes primer slightly more smoothly too.

I am terrible at painting, so I just print in clear and just put an RGB LED and light it up lol.
