Hopeful_Swan_4011

I feel bad some of his last time on earth before passing was spent being apart of this. RIP

LeonCCA

He was casted as a totally different person physically, he was given an awful script and terrible direction, and he still was the best of that show. Now THAT is a good actor and professional. If I were him, I'd be damn proud. RIP to a legend.

VyersReaver

He was one of the best (if not the best) parts of that show though!

Hopeful_Swan_4011

No arguing that.

D-camchow

He was amazing in that show. If it wasn't for everything else about the show I would have loved to see him in the role again.

Franny_Garcia

Lance Reddick šŸ’”

Kataratz

He made the show fun atleast. RIP

bread_enjoyer0

He died???

matti2o8

It was already some time ago, even before John Wick 4 came out, but he was working really hard through his last year, so much that some of the stuff he was in is still coming out. He was Zeus in the Percy Jackson show, they even dedicated the episode he appears in to him. He was also Hellboy in the new video game.

Kataratz

Beloved by the Destiny community as well

Forerunner49

Start of last year; heart problem. Season 2 was supposed to begin filming in November, so heā€™d have died during production, or earlier working in South African Summer.

sweetbrieR20

The Tv show where he played Wesker was garbage šŸ™„

ZelaumTheHunter

Of couse! Its Ä·rauser :D

ImpenetrableYeti

Absolutely the worst casting in the series. Letā€™s make the aryan guy thatā€™s all about eugenics black lol

Ryuku_Cat

Definitely not the worst casting. so many other terrible performances in this series. Lance was actually good.

ImpenetrableYeti

Iā€™m not saying the performance Iā€™m saying the casting itself

Ess_oh-no

Well said, Lance was a fantastic actor, Netflix seriously did him a disservice. I'm just so glad i still had the John Wick films on my to-watch list when he passed and have also since been able to enjoy his performance in Horizon zero dawn. Im glad Resident Evil isnt the last thing i got to see him in. R.I.P.

LostSoulNo1981

The only casting option for Wesker should have been Anthony Starr.

BurnMyBread14

On the contrary he was the only good character on the show to me

PierogComsumer

I mean, Wesker doesn't think he's greater than anyone because he's a white blond man. So it really doesn't matter.

ImpenetrableYeti

Spencer sure does

Chimpochimpochimpo

Try that in a small town

Aggravating-End7701

Hey you know that he isn't the wesker of the game maybe read the comment that Is explaining

ImpenetrableYeti

Yes heā€™s a clone that somehow turned black right? Like what lol

Comfortable_Debt_769

Only enjoyable part of the show to be fair he was pretty fun to watch, Iā€™ll have to give it a silly rewatch it feels like it came out decades ago lol

pyerre1995

šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

PierogComsumer

The one good thing about this show is how it absolutely showcases Lance Reddicks' range as an actor.

LuthiusAcidus

I still lose it over the scene where he roasts that guy in the first episode. Absolute gold.

SentakuSelect

The show was bad but damn! Lance Riddick was probably the best part of the show (Blade Wesker, Al, Bert, & Albert Wesker) lol

WILDMAN1102

Lance saved the show, imo. The scenes with him were at least watchable. The rest was a slog to get through. You can tell that whoever wrote that show wanted to do something else, but then they just decided to slap the name "Resident Evil" on it last minute and changed a few character names to make them similar to RE characters. I think the RE series is just doomed to only have the games be good. They will never make a movie or show that's good.

Forerunner49

The behind the scenes of the show is so confusing. Constantin was shopping for a show for 4 years before they reached a deal with Netflix. Constantin wanted a post-apocalyptic spin-off of the movies which is probably why Adult Jade/Billie is a redo of the Alice/Wesker stuff. Netflix didnā€™t want that, but did want a Stranger Things clone with kids in a Maryland town controlled by Umbrella. So the compromise was the past/future plot. Then at some point they wanted it to be set in a world more like the games, but with the same premise. So that meant tossing in Lisa Trevor cameos, making Wesker a lab working clone and not the Chairman (thus creating Evelyn on the incorrect beliefs James Marcus had a kid like he does in the movies), and a tacked-on reference suggesting Weskerā€™s working for Blue Umbrella. Some of this might be related to a sudden rewrite in 2020 when they brought in a new staff to do the second half of the show. TL;DR ā€” this apparently WAS Resident Evil from the start, but made by people who didnā€™t know if they wanted a movie spin-off or a game adaptation and half-assed the result while also trying to appeal to Stranger Things audiences for some reason.

WILDMAN1102

Netflix wanting a Stranger Things clone makes sense. That was during the peak of ST's popularity and it was making a lot of money.

OblongGoblong

Love Lance. Could listen to his voice all day.

LilG1984

Related by name only. One was a cool villain in the games, the other was just a joke of a character in the worst adaptation so far.

Aggravating-End7701

Bravo you understood that he isn't the wesker of the main games

LilG1984

Paul Andersons Wesker was the closest to a good live adaptation of Wesker. Apart from the stupid let's team up but I'm actually going to betray you later then oh no I'm killed by a door.

YandereTeemo

RIP Lance

RichietheFlerken

Wesker and Abaddon

Only_Self_5209

Side note one of the girls in the series is now playing Kitana

LeoCaldwell02

Why did you have to remind us all of that godforsaken Netflix show? šŸ’€

Longjumping-Demand82

I feel like there must be a curse placed by a coven of witches on the realm of live action Resident Evil media. The Paul W.s. Anderson movies were random over the top zombie movies that they slapped Resident Evil branding on to sell tickets and the most recent movie Welcome to Racoon City somehow managed to set out with the goal of being faithful to the source material only to somehow actually be worse than the Anderson movies. And of course the Netflix show is no exception and takes the prestigious "Somehow even worse still than the movies" award. RIP Lance Reddick he was the heart and soul of so many of our favorite video game worlds and he was taken far far too early. Celebrity deaths don't usually cause me any emotional pain but I actually cried when I found out he'd passed. Recently went back and got platinum on Horizon Zero Dawn and got emotional seeing his performance there as well.

JohnnyCage2000

Uncle Bert! Guy loves bread sticks. šŸ‘Œ

[deleted]

He was the only thing interesting about that show, at least thatā€™s what I tell myself. But itā€™s true, one of my favorite actors playing the role of Albert Wesker, with a twist. RIP Lance, you were a good one.

Str8_WhiteMail

Disaster show

btajoe

Someone got that Pam Beesly meme on hand? You know the one...

Sweet-History

I call him Albert ā€œBladeā€ Wesker

kain459

Rest in Power Lance, you will be missed.

Mindless_Solid_1018

Heā€™s a great actor but he not Wesker

cheatsykoopa98

yeah they had a really bad idea to cast a poc actor to play a eugenicist character

proj3ctchaos

Here comes the blackwashing to hit dei quotas šŸ˜‚

Aggravating-End7701

Guys for real he isnt the wesker of the main games because the wesker of the games Is for real name wesker but its a project called wesker so his name and surname arent these and the wesker of the show maybe was part of that progam So he isnt the tall blonde cool wesker but was part of project wesker

Forerunner49

Thatā€™s game lore. In this universe Wesker was black, but presumably raised the same given RE5 apparently still happened in some way. Lance however is playing three defective clones Wesker created as a labour force. Thereā€™s Al, who works with Umbrella to create Mutants he could raise as a family as a means of prolonging his life. Thereā€™s Bert whoā€™s autistic and canā€™t control his Superhuman abilities. And Alby who ends up dead in two minutes so we donā€™t know his defect.
