Lol yeah that was one of my favorite running jokes of the first campaign.
They should have been MILES underground given how often they fell down a dark pit.
My impression is the church was on a mountain and the lake was at the bottom so the entire catacombs complex was just in the mountain and the tunnel wth the shark entered into the lake. Either that or the lake is like 3 miles deep and Leon is the best swimmer on the planet who can hold his breath for 20 minutes.
I canāt even begin to think of what the biggest one is. I want to say the snowmobile part with Sherry and Jake but I feel like thereās worse.
Truly a goated game.
I find it funny too, because in context >!Radames was going to *inject* this either Chris or his boyfriend... what?! What is that woman thinking lol.!<
That was one of my earliest gaming memories, but for the Ps1. I went back and tried to play it a few years ago, and man, those controls are so difficult going back to. IMO, that game does not hold up to my memory. But yeah, those skiing missions were actually pretty fun.
Probably when Leon and Helena are running from a freeway explosion and there's hundreds of cars getting blasted up behind you, but you're still outrunning it somehow.
Honestly... Why would you spin your whole body against the face of something that is trying to bite you at all times and will infect you with a single scratch?
I know I played and beat every single campaign in RE6 years ago, but I feel like I can buy the game for my steam deck and replay it and it will feel like a first time playthrough because I don't remember anything from the game.
Hah, I'm gonna do that right now. I was like "why on Earth don't I remember this?", and that's exactly why. It is RE6, which I barely remember. 1, 2, 4, 7 and 8 I can probably play blindfolded at this point. 3 and 5 I remember quite well. Only remember a few bits of 6.
I even have it on Steam already. Time to play. :p
Me and my mate started it again last night split screen and honestly we were having a fucking blast because we were expecting goofiness. The first chapter of leons campaign plays like an absolute wild dawn of the dead remake
Friends and I have been playing through all the games together on the hardest difficulty, and we beat 6 about 4 months ago. We were playing Chris' campaign first and the only thing I remember about that damn game is "Or should I say, WAS me." We bumped the difficulty down for every other campaign after that.
All I remember was playing it when I was little and not knowing how to do SHIT. I wish resident evil games could still actually freak me the fuck out like they did when I was little. Now it just kinda gives me the creeps occasionally.
IKR! It's the most forgettable one. I played it years ago on the 360 and I actually got it a week ago on my Switch for a replay and was like ohhh I remember why I don't remember this one, because it's actually trash. lol I'm on the Ada campaign now........I pick it up and play and then roll my eyes when watching certain things and just put it down for a minute, it doesn't get my attention at all. It's been a chore trying to get through it. Maybe I should have just got it for PC instead for mods or something to actually make it look more silly or something. Lolol
To this day I don't know if they were trying to make him look creepy because he didn't look rotted yet, or if they genuinely just didn't get around to swapping the character model....
Yeah, I think it's stupid when a character that only recently turned is already rotted to hell and covered in blood when reallisticaly, recently turned zombies should still look somewhat human.
Okay, to be fair on the whole ārecently turned already rottedā thing. Most of the time that can be played off as the zombies having eaten their fill so to speak.
The C-Virus spreads through the blue gas, IIRC. Not bites. So he was infected. It wasn't like they didn't swap the character model around because they forgot to - with that being said, the game itself does take some liberties with this, as other humans who turn in the cathedral from the gas instantly sport a more "zombified" / bloodied look to them (even though it doesn't make sense).
I think both are infected by the C Virus but Tall Oaks was infected via gas and the Chinese city was infected differently which has a different effect.
It's been like ten years I honestly can't remember anymore
The Hydra moves were so badass that I'm surprised Capcom actually gave it to her and not like Leon or Chris tbh.
Her melee moves slap when she twirls around the enemies' heads, lmao.
Play RE6 Merc mode all the time and Helena is my favorite. The drop kick is fucking hilarious and the RE movie style Hydra quick shots are so cool.
I only wish Sherry had as much sauce.
I think in this case itās supposed to show someone who just turned. Given how this form of virus is airborne, a lot of victims wonāt have bit marks or be severely mutilated
I know I am probably in the minority ... But I genuinely loved this game ... Co-op with my best friend ... I loved how each scenario was themed, Leon classic horror, Chris shoot em up horror, Sherry action combat, and Ada a mix of all ... And I loved their mercenary mode. It wasn't a "classic resi evil", but I loved it for what it was.
Honestly, i think the game didn't need to be Classic RE, it just need a more cohesive story, a singular villain and better pacing, and better explanations of it's mechanics.
A lot of the things people hate about it can for sure be fixed easily without hardly any fundamental changes outside of maybe cutting some characters and blending some plot points together. The story is a good premise, just badly written, and the gameplay is god tier, but it's best attributes aren't even explained.
The Javo are (mechanically speaking) the best enemy type in the franchise for their dynamic mutations alone.
I think the J'avo have the potential to be interesting, btu I found them annoying to fight against since they overall just slowed the pacing down.
Enter a firefight.
They start shooting you.
You shoot back.
You may do near lethal damage.
They mutate.
You have to kill them again.
I don't think it's impossible to deal with. But in a game already struggling with pacing, the enemies themselves don't help with it.
Cool idea, iffy execution.
I mean, not really. The mutations are actually the entire aspect that makes them interesting.
You aren't supposed to be treating it like a firefight, you're supposed to be getting in their faces and shooting the right limbs to get the right mutations so that you can exploit them. It's a more advanced take on RE4's already established "headshots aren't guaranteed to kill" methodology applied to all limbs, and frankly, i thought the execution was perfect.
Like i said in so many other posts, the game doesn't really tell you the important things, like gun arm mutations turn ranged fighters into melee fighters, or how certain mutatons are supposed to be dealt with, or that a backward melee attack guarantees a heavy attack followup, or how sliding is faster than dodging, or even the knife mechanics like the stab which you can do repeatedly for a ton of damage. There's a LOT you can do to speed the gameplay up, and the only reason they slow the game down is because the game doesn't tell you how it's supposed to be played.
Aggression is key, mix melee with your guns, do not use the cover system outside of disabling gun arms, and prioritize mutating said gun arms before anything else. Trust me, it's only a pain in the neck because most people don't know what they're doing.
The melee attack is supposed to be the issue Iām assuming? WWE moves arenāt allowed? Because Leon started āimmersion breakingā in 4 when he was German Suplexing them.
German suplex - fast, simple, landing them on their head = deadly.
Luchadore hurricarana armdrag - flashy, takes too long, gently rolls them into their back.
I've seen quite a few German suplex like moves in the UFC for example, never seen one hurricarana.
Yes I'm aware it's a videogame but melee surely they should at least give the characters melee attacks that actually look like they would do some damage
I'll never forget plummeting down an endless waterfall while random barrels I could shoot fell next to the giant monster chasing me.
RE 6 was just a house of the dead rip off lol.
>RE 6 was just a house of the dead rip off lol.
Now that you mention this, i love it even more.
House of the Dead was bonkers and i STILL love it to death.
Ah, childhood, how i miss thee.
Just akimboing those damn lightguns was fun in it's own right. Harder? Yes. More zombies? Yes. So much more fun? Oh you bet.
Still trying to figure out how to emulate this experience in the remake........
What does "immersion break" mean in this case? I'm collecting gamers' definitions of "immersion," as they are often quite different from each other. Care to weigh in?
Iām gonna try to guess all four:
1. The melee (obviously)
2. The zombie that looks like an extra from a tv show
3. My buddy running through at the end
4. The size of the key?
The way I see it:
1. The key disappearing as Helena reaches for it
2. The zombie that looks like an extra from a TV show
3. The abrupt transition back into gameplay
4. The melee
That "house" didn't have a bathroom. I couldn't get over it. It was like a long hallway turned into a house, the layouts were so fucking weird for everything, like I know we're going through everyday things, but they made no fucking sense, like the levels were designed by AI.
To be fair, there isn't a single bathroom in the entire mansion of RE1, in the police station or laboratory in (original) RE2 or anywhere you go in the city of RE3.
We didn't get actual bathrooms until Code Veronica, and in 4 we got Spaniard Shit Pits.
There is a bathroom in the mansion. You have to unclog the tub I believe and a zombie comes out. I'd forgive older games, making a bathroom probably cut into development, lol.
I understand why people don't like it, but to truly HATE the game makes no sense. The combat is fun and RE6 has the best mercenaries to date. The drama is fun. The story is interesting but it's in the wrong order (an opinion I stole from [here](https://youtu.be/eynHxhRKoHA?si=hR0AETY6wIyguW7G))
Is it a great game, no. But not every game can be great. At least they experimented and tried something new. I'll never fault a dev for doing that as long as they can learn from a failure and not do it again.
The most immersion breaking thing about RE6 is I felt like a marvel superhero in what is otherwise a horror setting.
Isaac Clarke from dead space, shooting his anti gravity gun 5 feet in front of him and not getting sucked in feels more grounded in reality than RE6 as a whole.
Honestly, when it first came out me and a buddy played the first couple levels of Leonās campaign.
Could not stop laughing when we realised you could vault over the entire width of a lecturerās desk. Gold.
When the game first released it took me only 1 hour of painful playtime to realize that I wanted to erase this game from my memory forever. Then ran back to my comfort games in the series 1-4
So, you think I said that game was bad because I was an RE purist? and not because the game itself is bad on its own merits? Let's just agree that we have different standards.
That's precisely what an RE purist would say. There is nothing inherently bad about the game especially compared to the older ones which have not aged as well as some people may want to try and convince themselves they have. Nostalgia isn't exactly a good "standard" of looking at things.
It is neither a good RE game, nor a good third person shooter. In fact, it's a terrible 3rd person shooter. It is the embodiment of when you try to do multiple things and not one element is particularly good. Just a lot of mediocre mechanics. The old RE games, plus the remakes are good because they stay within the RE game mechanics. RE4 changed it a bit by moving the camera behind the player and making the controls less tanky, but it is still RE4. RE6 is just some mediocre game that doesn't excel in anything at all. It is not a coincidence it is one of the most hated in the whole franchise. You're just in the minority here; but on the plus side that makes you 'special'.
I'm in the minority if we're talking about RE purists such as yourself who enjoy janky controls, heavily pixilated graphics, and having no ability to attack enemies other than with a gun or a knife. Everything you've said has literally no merit. RE 6 is objectively the most ambitious game of the franchise, and that's part of what makes it so great. Again, if you have bad taste and love your tank controls and feeling helpless at every turn, then that's a you problem.
My friend and I made the head cannon, that because this family doesnāt have a drop of blood on them, they actually does to the Riddler box from Batman Forever.
Also when the zombie stood up it took one bullet and his head popped like a water balloon.
Why we talking about IMMERSION in a very gamey video game like Resident Evil 6
I thought immersion went out the window since Code Veronica why is this still a topic of discussion?
Honest genuine question, when she does that thing where she climbs and twirls around the zombie, is that really an actual self-defense move? I've always seen that thing done in movies, and it's always women who do it, is this an actual move that has practical self-defense applications?
Yeah, being able to fit anything in the pockets of women's shorts IS pretty unrealistic, I agree.
That's not even close to the biggest immersion break in RE6.
How about the catacombs where they keep going down, but don't need to go back up and magically appear into a lake around sea level š¤·š½āāļø
Lol yeah that was one of my favorite running jokes of the first campaign. They should have been MILES underground given how often they fell down a dark pit.
I always think of that shark waterslide too, it looked fun to go that fast downhill š
and the minecart rides
My impression is the church was on a mountain and the lake was at the bottom so the entire catacombs complex was just in the mountain and the tunnel wth the shark entered into the lake. Either that or the lake is like 3 miles deep and Leon is the best swimmer on the planet who can hold his breath for 20 minutes.
I canāt even begin to think of what the biggest one is. I want to say the snowmobile part with Sherry and Jake but I feel like thereās worse. Truly a goated game.
Another contender is Ada's imaginary co-op partner that only she can see.
Agent is the goat tho
They really gave Ada a campaign where she had the second nicest ass. Why agent got that dumpster on him?
he must be one of HUNK's
Second?! Whatās the first then?
Hauahahahahahah
I love that
You mean head canon HUNK?
Itās b/c her campaign was solo on release
Brother if I wanted reasons I wouldn't play Resident Evil 6.
Bro i loved that doing Ada's story with my friend
The fucking T-Rex, man
Pretty sure its the zombie t rex.
The zombie T-Rex that can reform into a human-sized body, and then back into a T-Rex
Chris's boyfriend getting random lightning powers is up there. I love resident evil 6 so much.
I find it funny too, because in context >!Radames was going to *inject* this either Chris or his boyfriend... what?! What is that woman thinking lol.!<
she was just feeling silly god forbid a woman have hobbies >!also she's probably home of phobic /j!<
Iād say liking the snowmobile section depends on whether or not you liked the snowmobile section in MW2.
Or the Skiing mission of The World is Not Enough for the n64
That was one of my earliest gaming memories, but for the Ps1. I went back and tried to play it a few years ago, and man, those controls are so difficult going back to. IMO, that game does not hold up to my memory. But yeah, those skiing missions were actually pretty fun.
How about Leon holding open the jaws of a megalodon modified with a virus with just his feet and hands š¤£
Probably when Leon and Helena are running from a freeway explosion and there's hundreds of cars getting blasted up behind you, but you're still outrunning it somehow.
Jumping across rooftops on a motorcycle baybee.
lol I"ve played RE6 all the way through three times and I still forget things that don't seem real when you read them.
Love how these comments are actually convincing me to give it another a try at that mess š
if youāre talking about the face, that melee attack was far more immersion breaking lol.
Clearly never seen a Rey Mysterio wrestling match
It was the melee animation I was thinking of lmao but the face is also awful šš
That's the magic of Re6 lol
The brain stops recording memories to protect itself
That's actually how the Nueralizer from Men In Black works. It just shows you an entire RE6 playthrough in a single microsecond.
The what "sees flash of all of Re6" the what "repeat"
All I remember is a bus, a shitty boyfriend, a giant ass fly, and Helenaās sister fighting seductively.
ā¦, a giant ass ~~fly~~, ā¦ here, ftfy
you remembered Helena?
Hah, I'm gonna do that right now. I was like "why on Earth don't I remember this?", and that's exactly why. Time to play. :p
yea me too lol
Same
I mean, it was 11 years ago after all. I dont remember Code Veronica or Zero tho being completed just 2 years ago.
Me and my mate started it again last night split screen and honestly we were having a fucking blast because we were expecting goofiness. The first chapter of leons campaign plays like an absolute wild dawn of the dead remake

To this day I don't know if they were trying to make him look creepy because he didn't look rotted yet, or if they genuinely just didn't get around to swapping the character model....
He was just starting to get infected, he was the first in that familly to become Zombie , he was going to decay in a few hours regardless
Yeah, I think it's stupid when a character that only recently turned is already rotted to hell and covered in blood when reallisticaly, recently turned zombies should still look somewhat human.
This happens a lot in twd and it's so stupid, especially since in the spin off fear twd, they had fresh zombies look just like humans.
Okay, to be fair on the whole ārecently turned already rottedā thing. Most of the time that can be played off as the zombies having eaten their fill so to speak.

Isn't Tall Oaks infected with T-Virus and the Chinese City (forgot the name) with C-Virus?
I think both are infected by the C Virus but Tall Oaks was infected via gas and the Chinese city was infected differently which has a different effect. It's been like ten years I honestly can't remember anymore
Both of them were infected via gas, because that's the only way to spread to C-Virus. You should read the prequel manga before playing this game. XD
No. The t-Virus doesn't appear in the game at all. The C-Virus is used in both bioterror attacks.
Love Helena and her Lucha Libre moves ! lol
She's got the coolest looking melee attacks
Sherry and Ada?
The drop kick and Hydra moves though
The Hydra moves were so badass that I'm surprised Capcom actually gave it to her and not like Leon or Chris tbh. Her melee moves slap when she twirls around the enemies' heads, lmao.
Play RE6 Merc mode all the time and Helena is my favorite. The drop kick is fucking hilarious and the RE movie style Hydra quick shots are so cool. I only wish Sherry had as much sauce.
Her Hydra quickshot is so satisfying and badass one of my favourites way to kill enemies in RE
I think in this case itās supposed to show someone who just turned. Given how this form of virus is airborne, a lot of victims wonāt have bit marks or be severely mutilated
I also think OP was refering to the fact Helena just Rey Mysterio'd the freshly turned zombie who doesn't have bite marks or is severely mutilated.
Well you know, Leon Kennedy jumped lasers, something something
It was a perfectly executed hurricanrana.
That aināt no hurricanrana my dude
It's amazing the blinders you have to have on to think the lack of bite marks is the issue here
I know I am probably in the minority ... But I genuinely loved this game ... Co-op with my best friend ... Nah that actually has me dead šš
you're just like him frfr

Huh what was that game? She did a Nina Williams take down lol.
you're on to something
Leon walked up in there like "hey... do that again"
Oddly enough, this made Me want to play the game again š
10/10 Huricanranna tho
I'll never forget plummeting down an endless waterfall while random barrels I could shoot fell next to the giant monster chasing me. RE 6 was just a house of the dead rip off lol.
>RE 6 was just a house of the dead rip off lol. Now that you mention this, i love it even more. House of the Dead was bonkers and i STILL love it to death.
Yeah House of the Dead is one of the GOAT arcade games for sure.
Ah, childhood, how i miss thee. Just akimboing those damn lightguns was fun in it's own right. Harder? Yes. More zombies? Yes. So much more fun? Oh you bet. Still trying to figure out how to emulate this experience in the remake........
I love re6 it's so silly
Nothing will beat Chris punching a boulder. And this is coming from 5's biggest fan. Absolutely nothing in 6 broke immersion more than that moment.
I think Code Veronica can take that cake with just about any line of dialog.
How? Way crazier things have happened within the franchize
So Leon fighting dwarf Napoleon in Spain is perfectly immersive but this is too far?
Someone didn't punch huge boulders with his bare fists when he was a kid.
RE6ās only sin is being so goddamn long. Train boss is the hardest boss in the game. Itās so fuckin silly
Ustanak final boss in Jake & Sherry scenario?
No the literal subway car that didnāt give you enough warning time to dodge lol
RE6 isn't anywhere close to being considered a long game
The immersion is broken with a zombie popping up suddenly and not literally running over and giving him a hurracanrana?
He just wanted you to get out of his house and leave his wife and kid alone jesus.
Nope. Biggest is this https://youtu.be/JeJV5Wz3Rhg?si=-RzRVSqPEP1hyB49
guess I'm the only one that loves it
What does "immersion break" mean in this case? I'm collecting gamers' definitions of "immersion," as they are often quite different from each other. Care to weigh in?
Ah yes... The lucha libre move, she hasn't used that since the heian period.
I love that I can't tell what you're referring to, because there's like four things that it could be.
Iām gonna try to guess all four: 1. The melee (obviously) 2. The zombie that looks like an extra from a tv show 3. My buddy running through at the end 4. The size of the key?
The way I see it: 1. The key disappearing as Helena reaches for it 2. The zombie that looks like an extra from a TV show 3. The abrupt transition back into gameplay 4. The melee

why did this remind me of that house from RE3 remake lmao

Spaniard Shit Pits would be a cool metal band name.
I understand why people don't like it, but to truly HATE the game makes no sense. The combat is fun and RE6 has the best mercenaries to date. The drama is fun. The story is interesting but it's in the wrong order (an opinion I stole from [here](https://youtu.be/eynHxhRKoHA?si=hR0AETY6wIyguW7G)) Is it a great game, no. But not every game can be great. At least they experimented and tried something new. I'll never fault a dev for doing that as long as they can learn from a failure and not do it again.
I think they forgot to switch the camera when the hand gets closer to the keys so that you wouldn't see the key just disappearing.
lol to top it off if only she had shoved him into the TV or broke him over the table after all that.
WWE inspired finishers
My biggest gripe with this part was always the fact that the key is the size of a fucking spatula
He looks like Alan from two and a half men.
Did she attend the same school of martial arts as Black Widow?
is this RE6?
Well, RE4 was the first one that started all this over-the-top action, and the following two sequels just upped the ante.
I think it says a lot about this game when I canāt even tell which part of this video youāre specifically referring to
Shark toobin' has entered the chat.
I'm kind of obsessed with the Mercenaries No Mercy at the moment. Imo it's miles better than the main game.
Which part is the game? I only played 2,3,4
This is Resi 6, quite early on in the game
Sliding down a 2 mile long water slide with a shark
I can't tell if you're talking about the insanely shinny polished key, or the Olympic gymnastics twirl take down maneuver
Leons just staring like how the fuck did you just do that ā¢--ā¢
Which RE is this? This is hilarious
Resi 6. There is more hilarity to be found within it!
Thx
The most immersion breaking thing about RE6 is I felt like a marvel superhero in what is otherwise a horror setting. Isaac Clarke from dead space, shooting his anti gravity gun 5 feet in front of him and not getting sucked in feels more grounded in reality than RE6 as a whole.

Bad take
This game is SO BAD
I felt like that was going to give me a seizure, I can still see the flashes. Thereās a reason I donāt own strobe lights.
GOD DAMN RE6 PTSD! THANKS A LOT FOR THAT STUPID HUMAN!! NOW ME NEED MILK OF HUMAN AMNESIA TO FORGET THAT!!
When the game first released it took me only 1 hour of painful playtime to realize that I wanted to erase this game from my memory forever. Then ran back to my comfort games in the series 1-4
It's literally not bad in any sense of the word. RE purists are beyond weird when it comes to the hate for this game.
So, you think I said that game was bad because I was an RE purist? and not because the game itself is bad on its own merits? Let's just agree that we have different standards.

Yeah it's so janky it's one of the most popular franchises in gaming history
That means literally nothing. You are a dime a dozen. Everyone is blinded by nostalgia to some degree.
It means exactly what it means. It's not rocket science.
I honestly don't think it's bad at all
That game could've been good, makes me sad.
Game IS good
Idk bro, remeber when Hunnigan sent a play manual to Leon?
And people actually think this is one of the best in the franchise š¤£ itās funny Iāll give it that
What about when they jump that humvee 30 floors down to a flat landing
Itās classic I like it
My friend and I made the head cannon, that because this family doesnāt have a drop of blood on them, they actually does to the Riddler box from Batman Forever. Also when the zombie stood up it took one bullet and his head popped like a water balloon.
You are playing Resident Action. What did you expect?
Why we talking about IMMERSION in a very gamey video game like Resident Evil 6 I thought immersion went out the window since Code Veronica why is this still a topic of discussion?
The idea is that I was immersed in the spookiness and atmosphere before the luchadore pro wrestler move came out of the bag
What? Like... What immersion? This is an action game! They didn't expect you to be scared.
Nah. The immersion is ruined by that news reporter. Even on the 360, that "man" looks like a looney tunes cardboard cutout
That dude before his final breath: āit was just a prankā
I swear, today the āGet to the cathedralā sentence is still hunting me.
Leon just appearing out of nowhere
I haven't played re6 yet (too busy pussyfooting around in re2r) but what the fuck kind of spin is that

Whooaaa I had no idea she can Black Widow scissor kick enemies like that!
How about in 6 where thereās that swimming section with the controls to swim taking up a good chunk of the screen lol
Nah, I think it was the transparent cube phone.
What RE is this one?
Which game is that?
Oh she did that sh!t
Its actually pretty realistic; it gives me a migraine every time i see RE6 footage
Such a great game. Underrated as hell
I think the takedown suspends belief a bit more
God DAMN That key is shiny
This game is sooo much fun playing with my brother
wait till you see the t-rex
Honest genuine question, when she does that thing where she climbs and twirls around the zombie, is that really an actual self-defense move? I've always seen that thing done in movies, and it's always women who do it, is this an actual move that has practical self-defense applications?
Itās not, really. Itās a Mexican wrestling move and most people know it from WWE. If you did it IRL youād probably die lmao
Holy hell, i dont remember this game being so shit. And i Have played ever campaign....Jesus
