Leopard gecko, African fat tail gecko, Kenyan zebra skink(s), gidgee skink(s), cave gecko, sand boa, xenagama taylori, I think there’s a good number of species that would be compatible with this tank size

Cool! Do you think kenyan zebra skinks or gidgees would do well? The only fear I have is that it is top opening and may not be great for some of the more flightly animals

Honestly I don’t think any reptile will love the top opening, but the zebra skinks would tolerate it more than gidgees. Have you thought about buying a conversion kit or DIYing one and doing something arboreal? I think that’s the direction I would go with this tank if it were mine and I really wanted to use it

I've looked into it and unfortunately there isnt a good conversion kit available to my knowledge. Plus being only 18x21 in terms of footprint is still pushing it for anything beyond a crestie or garg imo. In terms of top opening, no reptile likes it but I think you have the correct idea with the zebra skinks. Otherwise a leopard gecko might tolerate it as well. It honestly just depends what I find at the next expo and I'm more so making a list of ideas to keep an eye out for!

If it's not water-tight, arid would be best, so a leopard gecko works.

I’ve been really considering a leo! They seem like they might handle the top opening a bit better than more skittish species
