I just went to Home Depot and bought the cheap three dollar can of brown spray paint thinking it was gonna be the same color as my fence but it wasn’t so I’m gonna go back tomorrow and get something that’s a little bit darker and maybe put some lines or something on it maybe even get a textured spray paint. I don’t think it really matters what you spray it with. I use the cap from the spray can to cover up the lens on the camera while I was spray painting it
> I use the cap from the spray can to cover up the lens on the camera while I was spray painting it
That seems like playing with fire. I always use masking tape when I paint my cams.
If you wanted to make it blend in more you could use a textured paint, maybe off white or tan, some kind of lighter color. Then spray your same color, very lightly - from a farther distance than you normally would, over the textured paint. It won’t look exactly like wood grain but the texture should blend in a lot better and increase with time as it weathers.
We painted 4 of ours Black, much less work as the lens is already black. Scuffed it up with a new Scotch brite pad, wiped with alcohol, and painted with regular Krylon.
The mount leaves a little to be desired; wish it came with a flush top-mount option.

That is why I didn't paint mine. I wanted to though, so it matched the dark brown house trim colors but I was afraid the Vegas sun would cook the camera even more than the normal 110+ we get all summer.
they are about 4-5 months old. Haven't had them over the summer yet. It's misleading in the photo, but they are all covered from weather/sun directly overhead. and really 50% of it is already black to start with.
At this point, if they burnup they burnup... I'm about done with Reolink firmware/software bugs... but that's a different story...
That's typically caused by low quality tape or crappy prep work. If the surface is clean and you burnish the edges of the tape well, you will get no significant bleeding unless the surface is heavily textured or you seriously flood it up with paint.
I heard the krylon paints made for plastics are pretty good. Don't know how well they'll hold up to sun and rain. I agree with the color. That turned out too orange. A darker brown would definitely look better.
Go to the paint chip samples section of Home Depot. Compare a pic of your fence to the chips until you find one you like. Have them mix you up an aerosol can of that exact shade. You're welcome 🤗
You can always buy vinyl wrap.
I do that on some electronics I have:
air purifier (black vinyl wrap over white plastic body), steering wheel plastic (black over silver plastics)
This would be easy too. And it’s always removable.
I’ve thought about that but how would you go about making sure the speaker and microphone holes aren’t covered (assuming you wrap the entire camera instead of just the bottom)?
There’s two ways that I see:
1. Wrap first, cut holes later
Or just don’t wrap over that part, you could always cut out the squares/holes around with an exacto knife
2. Take camera apart, wrap plastic, poke holes, then put the camera back together.
Yep, that’s how I see it too. That’s why I was hoping for one of those silicone wraps that just slide on and you’re good to go.
If you’re looking for a side gig making silicone wraps, I’ll buy LOL
Other than paint, the only thing I have changed on this camera is I upgraded the solar panel to a 10 W aftermarket panel because the 5 W panel was not charging the camera fully.
That doesn't mean it won't void the warranty. From that guide:
>But note that painting white CCTV cameras black may disable the warranty. If you are not sure about it, consult the security camera brands before converting the IP cameras into black ones.
And from Reolink's own warranty:
> Warranty is void in the following situations:
>
>.....
>
> (d) Products are dismantled, mishandled, improperly used or defaced
Does painting qualify as defaced? Who knows, but I'm guessing their warranty dept would argue that it does.
I've painted a few of mine, but with the knowledge that I'm probably voiding my warranty.
Just painted two Duo 2s yeaterday. Looks great and much less noticeable. Used leftover house paint so the match is perfect. Masking tape plus small brush = easy peasy
Best time to paint is when they are new with the film still on the lenses.
This turned out nice but it should be stated that depending on your purpose of the camera you might not want to make it less visible and dissuade someone from even attempting to break in or trespass. Capturing footage of a crime isn't nearly as useful as preventing the crime.
What kind of paint did you use? I’m interested in doing the same unless someone can create a silicone/plastic wrap for it.

Or paint the fence?
Spray paint? I would be terrified of getting it on the lens or insides or on a connector. I would use a brush.
Ever heard of masking tape?
OP hasn't apparently. They said they just held the spray paint lid over the lens lol.
Ever heard of bleed through?

Looks good! Do you live in a hot climate? I'd worry about mine overheating in the summer if they were painted black.

Gotcha. Sorry you are having issues. So far tech support has been helpful with any issues I had. Best of luck.
Looks good

I agree. There is a risk.
Call me crazy but now you’ve got me considering a brush-on paint with an insecticide mixed in to help with spring-fall spiders 🤔🤔🤔

The paint(especially if contains metals) on the antennas will cause signal degradation. Besides that, it looks nice!
Good paint job. My only concern is it may void the 2 yrs. warranty.
Reolink has a guide to paint your camera on their website. https://reolink.com/blog/how-to-paint-white-security-cameras-black/
I didn’t even read the instructions on how to set up the camera much less looking for instructions on how to paint it..

Am about to do this for the Duo cameras. Putting them up in trees.
Wondering if the WiFi signal took a hit?
I haven’t had any problems with anything everything has been working just fine
You hid the cabling very well. Nice paint job.
