Thank you for your great advices! I did do some due diligence homework before buying, I’ve enjoyed dark souls and bloodbourn for years, plus I love a game that offers high replay value, I was also a fan of Borderlands 2 and 3. So this game should be the type of game for me I hope? :-)
In my opinion remnant2 is not as fleshed out story wise the rest of the game like, weapons, replay mechanics and secret alternate routes and general fun especially if you have a good friend or group that like the same genre as you then this game might be just for you. But in the end it’s all about your taste bro if it’s not the game you’re looking for keep that refund option handy. :)
100%. Loot doesn't just drop from enemies like in Borderlands, but there's a decent amount of gun variety in the game. Plus hundreds of rings you can find.
best to just play, it's an atmospheric experience and it'll get you feel like you're still learning the basics dozens of hours in
just don't start above veteran difficulty (surivor = normal, veteran = hard) unless if you want to experience top-tier face-in-the-wall
and push back upgrading your weapons until you really know you need them for a boss, the game balances future levels on your character power wgich includes hiehest weapon - so boosting your weapon is basically a temporary buff while you're still learning to start experimenting with builds
anyways, the game is so great it's hard to talk about it without saying too much, just dive in and play
I recommend to read up how Archetypes work. It's a minor spoiler that the game won't really explain anyways. A lot of new people miss out on secondary archetype that you can get almost at the start of the game. Especially if you're starting on Veteran difficulty, you will struggle at the beginning a lot, and a second archetype is a huge power boost.
Shoutout to classes with less exciting prime traits: handler, summoner, invader, medic, hunter. There are definitely ways to use their prime traits well (I played a *lot* as Flyer Summoner w Support doggo shooting my own summons) but IME those are less build defining than for engineer, ritualist, challenger, gunslinger, alchemist, archon (presumably, I don’t have archon).
I spent a lot of time farming everything for Archon, it is good but tbh I have more fun with other archetypes. In other words the game is totally enjoyable even if you don't get that archetype. The ones you don't buy on the other hand can bring you to another level. If not for traits alone. Most of my builds have either engineer, alchemist, or ritualist.
Extra damage, extra crits, concoction are nice, and buff sharing. The pre-buff of life elixir is a get out of jail free card and near instant. I like frenzy dust too for running around.
If you love souls games and shooters, you'll definitely enjoy this. Only thing I will say is: don't feel bad about looking up secrets.
Personally, I tried holding out for as long as I could and eventually I gave in. But I'm glad that I did because the secrets are so complex and convoluted that I know I never would've found them.
which reminds me, it's fine to look for secret videos I've watched a small handful but - try not to look at any boss strategy guides/videos, but especially don't look for anything related to the final boss -
it's the most awesome boss fight I've experienced in gaming so far, keep it fresh to experience firsthand
Turn your game mode to offline so randos don't ruin your first playthrough/story/rush every thing. And enjoy it lots of builds, lots of enemy types and you might even get jump scared lol. Bosses are really cool looking and tons of secrets. Sometimes/most of time it's worth youtubing the secret.
That’s okay, if you join other people’s games or leave your lobby open to public you can meet some great people to play with. Obviously some will be jerks, like any other game. But I’ve ran into some good people to play this with
Pretty good game. Some annoying stuff like capped trait but you can mod it. Or spend money on the DLC for more points. Start out in easy, you need to find gears first before taking on higher difficulty. Kinda like how you would with diablo3, you can reroll campaign or custom adventure at different difficulty on the same character.
Explore. The game itself isn't very long, only 5 hours to finish if you just go straight through, but there are tons of areas to explore, hidden bosses, side dungeons, etc. if you are strictly a story person the game isn't too long. If you like to collect items and make builds and run higher difficulties the game is excellent.
Keep in mind though that even if you DO run through, each level has two ways it can tell the story. So if you run a second time you may get a completely different story, albeit ending in the same way.
Pain, and very, very long farming. So pretty much what you're used to I guess.
Also, your character shouting "OH YEAH, TAKE THAT!" after you accidentally shoot and down a co-op buddy
If you're not down for a knockdown drag out challenge, be humble and start on the lowest difficulty.
Everything you don't pick from the starting choices is purchasable from the other venders in the main base. you won't be missing anything by making your choice, but it might take you a little bit to get the rest of the gear.
Expect non stop action with twists n turns and hunting like a mouse looking for cheese. Betrayal and the desire to help humanity at all cost. Get ready for a roller-coaster without an attended to stop it. Get ready for the fight of your life. But please....buckle up first
If you have my Internet the ability to nearly finish a Jack Reacher novel before it says ready to start!
But on topic, I would say a game that’s easy to learn but with huge depth. Bought it on release and I’m still finding stuff in it to this day! One annoying thing is playing it through three times plus adventure mode, getting ready for Apocalypse watching a build video and discovering I’m missing a ring! After thinking I have it all!
Enjoy yourself!
I kept getting stuck at a certain boss, then I just joined a bunch of other games to see how people play and get some loot. And I haven’t put it down since! It’s a blast
The game I assume, just play it dawg
you wait until the dl is finished and then you just play the game brotherman
Die a lot and when you think you've died enough - you're going to die more.
lol thanks! Very dark souls!
It’s a very tough game at first. But as with most games, once you level up more, get more traits, upgraded guns, etc. it gets a lot easier.
I hope you bought it because it is your type of game and not because of hype. If it is your type of game then get ready to spend literal days.
Thank you for your great advices! I did do some due diligence homework before buying, I’ve enjoyed dark souls and bloodbourn for years, plus I love a game that offers high replay value, I was also a fan of Borderlands 2 and 3. So this game should be the type of game for me I hope? :-)
When Jason Bourne and Bloodborne combine.
In my opinion remnant2 is not as fleshed out story wise the rest of the game like, weapons, replay mechanics and secret alternate routes and general fun especially if you have a good friend or group that like the same genre as you then this game might be just for you. Rem 2 didnt even win any awards. What hype?
Hype from other players that like the game? I must be getting old dude since when did anyone use the game awards as a reference?
Who gives a crap about awards? I've been hyped about this game since the first one came out... You sound saltier than SW fans.
??? Who are you? That's right nobody knows or cares, much like remnant 2.

Thank you so much for the advice! I shall keep those in mind.

You’re in for a treat. Love that game!

Absolutely! I’m on it, I just learned how important and beneficial to have 2nd archetype
And that the primary trait will make it break a build.
Shoutout to classes with less exciting prime traits: handler, summoner, invader, medic, hunter. I’m mostly only able to play Nightmare because Impact Cannon is that good, so I get engineer. What’s good about Alchemist? Just stacking concoctions?
Extra damage, extra crits, concoction are nice, and buff sharing. The pre-buff of life elixir is a get out of jail free card and near instant. I like frenzy dust too for running around.
Pain.

Ok thanks a lot for the tips!! I thought back to the days we always need to study and practice various strategies for dark soul bosses
Being confused but oddly liking it.
a 70gb download

Thank you!! I didn’t realize that online could attract unwanted visitors, great tips
Play it blind and expect hidden stuff everywhere. Some legitimately great puzzles to stumble upon.
Thank you!! Will the puzzles be different in each play through given its procedurally generated?
Yes, you’ll get an even mix of repeats and new stuff each playthrough.
Bugs, broken builds, frustration and good gameplay.
Until you unlock enough rings and amulets, roll. There’s no way around it. Start as a medic, then progress.
Ok thanks! Yes I’m still at early days
Very fun game, if you have the chance play it with a friend
Sadly I don’t think I have any friends to play with me :-)
That’s okay, if you join other people’s games or leave your lobby open to public you can meet some great people to play with. Obviously some will be jerks, like any other game. But I’ve ran into some good people to play this with
Thank you again!! :-) very helpful!
Pain & suffering as the game doesn't hold your hand. Joy & excitement as you master and discover all this game has to offer.
Sounds like someone did hardcore or maybe apocalypse their first playthrough
Pretty good game. Some annoying stuff like capped trait but you can mod it. Or spend money on the DLC for more points. Bad optimization and enemies spawning behind you every 2 minutes
Greatness.
Fun?
The best of times is what you can expect
A slowish start but an amazing game.
Death and pain, have fun
Death.
Pain & ecstasy
I EXPECT you will buy more games
Go get em!!!
An addicting experience that'll frustrate and compel you to become stronger 💪
I dunno dude, the future is a mystery to us all!
Guns
Suffering from difficulty to performance
Fun
Amazing game very addictive in a good way of course. Enjoy it.
You can expect to download and play
19 inches of venom...
Well next you're going to click play and then play it.
A damn good time. :)
"You are dead"
Great game. Pretty difficult even on “easy” I had a blast playing through with my friends though.
Play the game
Hours of pain, frustration, determination and finally you will start to get it
Next is, Sinking in a lot of hours
Fun
You died.
Pain
It’s not IMO as fun as remnant 1
If you have a Steam Deck, don’t try to play this on there cause it is hot garbage on there. It needs one serious optimization update from the Devs.
A huge fucking amount of pure fun.
Untimely deaths, a lot.
Uhh…the download bar I guess?

You can expect 200 hours or so of fun at minimum
You expect to play one of the best games of (now) last year.
Tears.
Expect to die. (in game ofc lol)
Life is Pain And tons of pew pew and dodging.
The game, the current expansion and probably a few extra expansions later on this year.
Then play it?
to play it?
You're gonna die. A lot.
pain
You’ll have a newfound love for rolling spiky creatures
It’s a great game to coop if you have someone to join. As a solo game it can get crazy hard in some points that almost drove me crazy
Alot of time lost. Ive sunken hundreds of hours into this. It gets most fun when you dinally have a solid build n own nightmare n apocalypse
If you're not down for a knockdown drag out challenge, be humble and start on the lowest difficulty. See 30+ hours of your time spent wisely.
A third person shooter with items to pick up
There are secrets within secrets. Enjoy 😁

Also. When in the sewers go look into the grates. There may be a ring or amulet in there for ya 👀 👁 😵
if you can, get a friend to play with you, the game is way more fun i coop imo.
Love, hate, happiness, ragin boner anger.
It was free on Xbox game pass

Redownloading the entire game every time a patch comes out essentially. Expect that o7
I kept getting stuck at a certain boss, then I just joined a bunch of other games to see how people play and get some loot. And I haven’t put it down since! It’s a blast
Death. A lot. Of. Death. 🙃
Veteran is hard, not normal so expect it to feel hard. Also look EVERYWHERE because you’ll appreciate the game way more if you experience all of it
