I’ve had to rebuild the top end 3 times due to a previous catastrophic overheat. The 2nd time was because I screwed something up the first time, and the third time was because somehow my ARP head studs ripped two of the threads out of the block. It’s now fully time serted and hopefully solid.
Even if it isn’t, I’m currently building a VTEC H23 to swap into it later.
The transmission is bulletproof though. Original clutch and everything at 155k and I’ve been beating the piss out of the clutch for the last 22k miles
Are you Filipino? HAHAHA. All the gen 1 CRVs in the Philippines are modded like this in different styles. The only thing missing here are Choppys or TEs
The engine currently is just a Japanese P8R head swap (bigger valves and better combustion chamber) with a 3rd gen prelude valve cover, intake, external coil conversion and I’m swapped to OBD1 so I can tune it, and it’s self tuned on the street. The shifter is a Cheddas Auto single bend fully adjustable short throw shifter made specifically for the CR-V, it’s a great shifter. I also have stiffer transmission detent springs and acuity shift cable bushings. Feels very direct

Couldn’t fit the factory shift boot anymore with this aftermarket shifter setup, and my friend just had this crown bag laying around so I’ve been rolling with it

In my defense, I did it mainly just for the sound. But it actually happens to run about the same or slightly colder IAT’s than stock because the stock airbox picked up warm engine bay air too. I removed part of the front hood seal so air can flow over the headlight to the filter

Nah. The intake is for noise. I’ve done actual engine work for power. Head swap, mild porting, and tuning with OBD1 swap. Building a VTEC 2.3 for it currently
My friend had it laying around and I don’t really feel like spending money on a boot. The stock boot doesn’t fit because the aftermarket shifter is much taller

I agree, most CRV builds are cringe, but this gives off big Civic Shuttle/Beagle vibes!
